Honestly, Bloomingblaze felt she was being a bit neglectful as a mentor.
Dogpaw barely had any training so far.

So!

That was going to change!

Two training sessions in one was the plan!

“Dogpaw!” She called enthusiastically “Kiddo, c’mon, let’s get some train in’ done!”
Hunting and battle training was what she had planned for the day, and she was sure Dogpaw could handle that.

“Alright!” Bloomingblaze chimed before leading her apprentice out.

Soon, they arrived at a good training spot.
Since hunting was first, she picked a place that smelled like it had plenty of decent prey.

Dogpaw took a deep breath and began to note each smell.
"To our north are some thrushes. Our left has some voles, to our right i can smell a few rabbits and behind us- does prey normally smell like outsider?" His eyes narrowed as he quickly turned around to see a rather large brute of a tom standing there with a cheeky grin.

[FIRST ENCOUNTER: VLADIMIR, THE TROUBLEMAKER]
The tom's green eyes narrowed at the sight of Dogpaw.
"Well, aren't you a cute little fella?"
"Don't give me that compliment, leave this territory." Came the sharp and annoyed reply of Dogpaw. The outsider did not listen, moving closer with his light brown fur. His ears flicked gently as he looked up at Bloomingblaze.
"Is this little scamp with you?" The tom asked, eyes slightly lighting up." Hes certainly got some bite to him, doesn't he?" The tom then chuckled, before Dogpaw flung himself at the intruder. That was all it took. The outsider was toppled over, landing on the ground with a loud thump as Dogpaw aimed a claw-strike at the intruders face.
"I SAID GET OUT!" Dogpaw hissed while attacking. The outsider forced himself back up, rolling his eyes and scoffing before padding off in the direction of the outskirts.
"You'd think a cat has decent manners these days..." the tom grumbled while padding off.

Smell like Outsider?
She gave another sniff, before the cat was spotted.

She gave a low growl as the cat spoke, but was surprised to see that Dogpaw took action and clawed at the intruder, who left.
Well, at least their training could continue.

She waited to make sure the Outsider actually left the territory.

“Good job, kiddo, looks like battle trainin’ won’t be all that tough for ya’!” She chimed with pride “Now, that Outsider might’ve scared off some o’the prey, so do ya’ smell anything still around? Like that vole fr’m b’fore?”

Bloomingblaze was a little confused by the rabbit being here of all places, but she just assumed it had to do with whatever the twolegs were doing.

“Good job.” Bloomingblaze said “Now, Lemme show ya’ the hunting crouch, and try t’ imitate it.”

The large tortoiseshell cat got into the hunting crouch.
“Now I don’t have a long ‘nough tail to show that, but don’t put it too high or too low.”

“Great job.” She chimes in a hushed tone “Now try an’ stalk toward one of the voles ya’ scented. Once y’re close ‘nough, pounce and give th’ killin’ bite.”

Teaching through words was how she would try first, if not, she would soon try by example.

Dogpaw gave a soft nod and slowly began to stalk towards the biggest, most plump mole. He got close enough, and with a confident spring managed to pounce on the vole before giving the killing bite.
