The day had been long, drizzle fell heavily from the clouds. Owlthroat was in a foul mood, he had found himself tucked under a thicket at the far edge of camp wandering his thoughts. The comfort of a den seemed like far too much trouble when it would mean he would be pressed up against all the other cats. Long and impatiently his tail twitched, he wasn’t quite sure what he was waiting out here for. Perhaps just to become more bitter.

A yawn curled his blackened lips and he gripped his claws hastily into the cool dirt underpaw.

Flytail stepped outside of the warriors den.He sighed it was raining slightly not enough to be a down pour but enough to be annoying he hated getting wet let alone having it seep into the den.That actually was the reason why he had steeped outside.He knew his brother was somewhere around here probably off sulking he thought with a scoff.Once he felt like the rain had stopped enough he went out searching for his brother.He soon spotted him he walked up slowly behind him “What are you doing out here this late?”He asked sharply

Owlthroat sensed his brother’s presence before he saw him, Flytail’s sharp voice cut through the rain. He turned to face his brother, his expression less sour than before. More of a neutral grimace now. He thought desperately of how to answer him without seeming like he was moping about.

”Enjoying the rain”, he grunted unconvincingly. ”Yourself?” It was mock politeness wasn’t it. He was never too sure about how his relationship with his brother truly felt, it ran hot and cold. But loyal no matter what. Even if he seemed to blame Owlthroat for their sister’s death, the loyalty wouldn’t diminish.

He longed to sneak out of camp despite Dawnstar’s current rulings on a night like this, perhaps to feel young again. To feel the companionship of kin. It was a sneaky thought that invaded his mind.
