grey paws touched the moss of where his nest was in the elder's den. He picked himself up, and walked out of the elders den and walked into the nursery to where the kits were. He decided he would tell a story for once in his life. "Kits! come over here for a story!" he said in a joyful tone, ready to see little kits waddling towards him.

A story?!? Cicadakit couldn't get over to Seafin quickly enough, bounding clumsily around the others in the nursery to get a front-row seat at the elder's grey paws. This would be the first story he would ever hear in his life and he just couldn't wait.

Foxkit's ears perked up at the voice ringing out around the nursery, where she lay bored in her nest alone.
A story?
She thought for a moment, her eyes flicking up to the entrance of the den. Not like she had much else to do. She stood up and stretched, her tiny, thorn-sharp kit claws digging into the moss of her nest as she did so. She righted herself, shaking stray moss from her fur, and trotting over.
Cicadakit caught sight of a familiar face out of the corner of his amber eyes and turned fully with a bright smile. "Butterflykit!" He meowed in greeting to his littermate, happy to see her. "Terf, come sit by me!" His little paws were working on the sandy ground in front of him, kneading out of pure excitement. He had trouble sitting still when he was looking forward to something.
