Default blind teaching the blind [Leopardpaw Training]

The molly padded confidently out of camp and paused to listen to Leopardpaw's paw steps as she followed her. She moved further out of camp, carefully navigating, using her whiskers, around the holes that littered the territory with ease compared to the first time she tried walking outside the camp.

Dreamlight didn't move too far away from camp, ears perked she could still pick up the sounds of her clanmates within the camp. She lifted a forepaw and licked it before swiping it over her ear. The bite the creature left was still sore even after the days had passed. Pushing that aside, she turned her head in the direction she sensed Leopardpaw.

"You've hunted before, right? Just not rabbits. So use your nose and show me where to locate our prey." Dreamlight urged the apprentice. It should be a simple task, the scent of rabbit hung heavily in the air.

This was weird.
Leopardpaw knew the territory before, now it felt unfamiliar.
She tried to follow Dreamlight as exactly as possible, not wanting to trip or anything.
Somehow, she had succeeded.
Pure luck, probably.

She quickly stopped as she heard Dreamlight's steps stop.
Just scent for a rabbit and locate it.
"Yeah, alright." She replied in acknowledgment. She quickly caught the scent, now she just needed to find it. Can't be that hard.

It seemed to be... kind of forward? Maybe at an angle.
She moved a little in that direction, and the scent got a little stronger.
"I think it's this way." Leopardpaw said in a more hushed tone now.

Dreamlight twitched her ears and frowned gently at Leopardpaw's answer. The apprentice reminded her too much of herself when she first lost sight, hesitant and unsure of her surroundings. It would take a little time, but she'll teach the apprentice to be confident enough to be more independent.

"Do you think or do you know?" She asked, padding towards Leopardpaw's voice and scenting the air. "If you have to lead a patrol or hunt on your own, you should be sure of where you're going and what scent you're tracking. You know what rabbits smell like so you should be certain of the scent and its trail." Dreamlight reminded her.

"You have the right scent." Her nose wiggled after she caught the same scent Leopardpaw had. "Be more confident in yourself. When you move you're going to want to focus on your whiskers. I've found when you focus enough on your whiskers they are a great help in telling you about your surroundings. They can help you navigate a lot more than you think." Perhaps it was because cats rely on their sight so much that their whiskers take a backseat. However, now that Dreamlight couldn't use her eyes she had time to give more attention to her whiskers.

"I'll teach you the best way to use your whiskers when hunting for now, and we'll work our way through the more complicated stuff as we go. But first, you have to lead us to the rabbits." She purred.

Okay, she's gotta be more sure. Got it.
So Leopardpaw was right about the rabbit's direction, at least. That was good.

Whiskers. Rely on those. She can... get the hang of that.

But, she has to lead the way to the rabbit first.
Alright! Go Leopardpaw! She can handle catching a rabbit!
Born and raised WindClan, she should be able to do it!

As she internally hyped herself up, she moved closer to the rabbit's scent, and it got stronger as she did so.
Soon, she felt close enough, the scent was really strong. She stopped, not wanting to scare it off.

Does she pounce, like normal? Or is it different?
She should probably ask. Keeping questions to herself would be no good.
Do I... pounce like normal prey, or is it.. like, different?" She asked, as quietly as she possibly could as to not scare off the rabbit.

Dreamlight followed silently after Leopardpaw as she led them to the scent she had caught. A sharp breeze ruffles the blind she-cat pelt and brings the musky smell of prey. One of her ears drifted toward Leopardpaw after she asked the question and the other focused on pinpointing the rabbit ahead of them. Her whiskers twitched on her muzzle as she envisioned the creature in her mind.

"Depends, if you can creep close enough to catch it without it noticing you, pouncing works. You have to ensure you pounce on it correctly and catch its throat. Rabbits have nasty kicks and sharp claws, they don't normally fight, but if they catch you with a kick you might be spending a lot of time in the medicine den." Dreamlight warns her.

"They have great hearing, if you step wrong and spook it the rabbit will bolt. You'll have to move fast to catch it. To avoid the whole chasing issue, I'll circle around and make sure it doesn't run too far just in case you don't make your first pounce. Try and use your ears and whiskers to pinpoint its exact location and pounce when you're ready, don't rush."

Leopardpaw's ear twitched as she listened Dreamlight explain.
Hmmm, okay. She could probably do that.

"Okay." She quietly acknowledged Dreamlight's explanation.
The rabbit hadn't budged yet, at least it hadn't seemed to. Maybe, possibly, she could get it.

First things first, actually getting close enough.
[Roll=12]
She got pretty close, but stepped a little too loudly last second, causing her to hear the rabbit bolt.
Wuh oh, okay, time to catch up.

Continuing to follow its scent and listen for it and all that, she booked it after the rabbit.
[Roll=15]
Soon, she jumped on where she hoped it would be, and she was right.
She then managed to kill it before it could kick her.

Aha! Look at that! She did it!
The spotted apprentice picked up the rabbit and walked over to where she hoped and remembered where Dreamlight had been.
"Gof if!" She said cheerfully, though her voice was muffled due to the rabbit.
