Floodsight

She's nervous. The usual calm and collected molly was nervous, they'll have to head back to soon and there's a million things running circles in her mind. Picking up more worries along the way. One by one. Fading had mentioned for their new camp to be by the cliffs, and it worried her a little more than she'd like to admit. Did they return from the mountain only to settle in another. She should place her trust in her leader, but she still had doubts nonetheless. Of course, it may have been the best choice for RiverClan, somewhere hidden, but Floodsight would've loved to return to open space where the sun shone, streams ran and meadows rolled about.

The lack of that made her heart dropped to her stomach and her claws sink into what should be the soft dirt, but instead it was the hard cold floor of the abandoned two-leg den RiverClan had temporarily settled into.

'Think good thoughts Floodsight.' She had told herself as she slowly returned to the cat she is supposed to be. 'Chin up, grow up.' Afterall, she had other she needed to take care of and there's a clan hungry to return.

The silverish cream warrior made a graceful leap and sat herself on the windowsill of a broken window, gazing ever so far into the horizon. Between the trees, bushes and vines. Just a few fox length away was home. Soon...soon they'll return.

Waspmeadow

Waspmeadow had been sitting in the one of the corners of the abandoned twoleg den, pondering about everything that had happened recently. For instance, would the clan react positively to their new home? How would the routine shift? Would Fadingstar ever truly trust the whole clan again after his assassination attempt? so many thoughts, so little answers.

Waspmeadow's mind was filled with doubt and concern, clearly displayed by the pensive look on her face. She sighed, a long, exasperated sigh, as her eyes focused on her paws below her. After a few minutes, she slowly looked up and glanced at her clanmates dotted around the room– they all seemed... tired. So was she.

Waspmeadow's eyes finally landed on Floodsight. A particularly pretty silver-pelted molly, who she observed had quite a sombre look on her face as she perched on the windowsill. Waspmeadow ambled over to the she-cat and leapt up to join her on the ledge, "hi" waspmeadow greeted sweetly, peering out of the cracked window at the scenery for a moment or two, "is it just me, or the whole idea of this move to live by the cliffs slightly daunting" she chuckled wearily

Floodsight

"H-hey," Floodsight had answered a little dryly. It felt a little weird to be talking after being in silence for so long. Her voice almost cracked at the sudden greeting. Infront of her was a molly with pelt the color of tree during sunset. Floodsight had taken her eyes off the windows and outside world, and tilted her head slightly to meet Waspmeadow's soft gaze.

She nodded in agreement with her friend's word. 'Just as I was thinking' She had her brow scrunched, thinking about it as she replied. "I just never could've have anticipated to return...just to go back to a cold cliffside."

"Not that I'm doubting Fadingstar's choices, but I really thought we could go home. Our home." Perhaps it was Waspmeadow's outgoing and friendly nature that allowed Floodsight to open up a little. The other molly had always been such a kind friend, and never did Floodsight ever imagine she would've become friends with such an amazing clanmate. She, herself, was just too cold to strangers. The fact that Waspmeadow was able to warm up to her was unreal.

Waspmeadow

Waspmeadow listened intently, licking a paw and drawing it over her ear a few times. She tilted her head and nodded in agreement with Floodsight's sentiment– Waspmeadow missed where the clan was situated, and who the clan were, everything felt like it had changed since the move. Waspmeadow resumed glancing out of the window as she spoke, "yeah, me too. I was looking forward to getting back home, but it'll be okay– as long as we are together as a clan, we'll be alright" she spoke gently

Waspmeadow began contemplating when Floodsight brought up Fadingstar's decisions on relocating the clan, and silently agreed. She paused for a moment, thinking about the right way to phrase her response, "we are allowed to be opinionated on this move, I suppose– after all, this whole process has disrupted our lives for a quite while" she said, eyes darting around as she thought "you can always talk to me if you want to get something off your chest! I feel like we've all been so stressed lately" she exhaled, a small but reassuring smile appearing on her face. She always wondered if she says the right words to Floodsight, after all, she appreciated her so much– Waspmeadow knows how stressed she is at the moment, and simply wants to support her in every way that she can.

"Hmm, you're right," Floodsight nodded in agreement before getting up slowly into a stretch. She's had really dampened the mood, and it wasn't a good note to start on. Wasp was right; at least they had the clan. Floodsight really needed to improve her mindset and think a little more positively. She had others to think of. It may be a different home, but at least it ensured they have a home. A home where they are still alive.

With a soft smile, Floodsight approach with Wasp with a soft bump on the flank. Her friend had been so kind, so quick to agree. Floodsight was thankful, but wanted them to have their own thoughts as well. There was no need to be stepping on eggshells between them. That's what friends were for after all. Wasp's reassuring smile was everything. "Thanks, but you too, Wasp. No need to agree with me on everything. They were just...thoughts going through my mind."

Nevermind that future business. It will play out how it will. If StarClan have a little mercy on them, they'll return and thrive once more. Floodsight had been a little too busy lately to even catch up with her friends and family. Now that Waspmeadow was here, it was a good time to ask. Afterall, it's been a while.

"And you...how have you've been? Anything catch your eyes?"

Waspmeadow greeted the bump on her flank with a content purr, "I most often am" she responded dryly, a smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth.

Waspmeadow had hoped that Floodsight had taken what she said the right way, but they were close enough now that she felt they had a good understanding of one and other– she was glad she had such a friend to depend on at a time like this for the clan.

"Oh no, trust me, I don't agree with you on everything, but I definitely agree with you on this one" she remarked, seemingly sarcastic, but wholly serious.

Waspmeadow had uncharacteristically kept to herself as of late, and even she herself wasn't quite sure why. She supposed it was something to do with not burdening others, but she couldn't be sure, there were just too many things filling her mind to pinpoint the cause of one issue.

After being lost in thought for a few moments, she refocused her attention to the conversation; "Other than you? No, I'm afraid not. Nothing much more than the odd patrol", she mewed, shrugging slightly, "how about you? Been up to any mischief lately?" She chuckled

Waspmeadow sure knew how to joke around. Seeing her friend smirk and how she return a little back to her normal self brought a little relief to Floodsight. It was always nice to see someone who can light up the day even in the darkest times. If Flood was a storm, Wasp would be like the sun that shone after. She returned a joking poke at her friend, "Well, I'm glad you are in the joking mood."

With a much relieved sigh, Floodsight had a small smile when she answered, "Then that makes two of us~"

Floodsight had gave a small laugh that ran like a stream, perhaps not as sweet as Wasp's but it was a laugh from the heart. One she seldom does to outsiders, but it was easy in front of her friend. She had shook her head. Nothing interesting as of late. For her it had been work, work and more work. Just one patrol piled right after another. These cats sure know how to put one to work. Flood had returned a grin and replied in a joking voice, "How can there be mischief if you're not there?"

"always" she smiled, winking at her friend. It was good to see her in better spirits! She was glad she could cheer her up in such a trying time. Waspmeadow brushed her tail on the back of her flank before perching back on the ledge, licking her pelt with a sense of pride

Waspmeadow warmed to Floodsight's response, throwing a paw in her direction playfully, turning her head to the side, "oh stop it, you" she joked "you're going to make me all flushed!"

When she heard her friend's laugh she paused for a moment, straightening her posture and looking a bit wide-eyed, before joining her friend with a laugh of her own. If she loved anyone's laugh, it was Floodsight's; it was infectious, to say the least– and she felt like it was an honour to hear it, an honour only awarded to closeness.

Waspmeadow leapt down from the windowsill, still chuckling. She looked back at Floodsight, gesturing to follow her. She cantered for a fox-length or two and then haltered, sitting by the entrance of the abandoned two-leg den, she thought for a moment, then her eyes lit up and she turned to Floodsight with a look of excitement "we should spar!" She exclaimed "I could use some training, after all"
