Vinepaw cautiously stopped next to a tree and scented the air. Hmm.. It smelled like another cat. Vinepaw tilted her head. It was as if someone marked their borders like how the Clans did. Her eyes widened.
Oh crud.
She was in another cat's territory.

Vinepaw frantically looked around to see if any cats were nearby. Her stomach grumbled loudly and she cursed herself. Vinepaw look up and jumped at the tree, hooking a branch with her foreleg. She pushed herself up with her hind legs, scrambling for a grip. Vinepaw balanced herself so she was even on both sides and looked around for any signs of life. What would her mentor tell her to do now??

Lil’ Delusion heard something climbing nearby. He stopped and smelled the air. "There must be another animal around here..." Lil’ Delusion thought before he walked to the source. Once he reached the tree, he calmly said, "Whoever you are, you are standing near the border of my territory." Lil’ Delusion waited for a few seconds before continuing, "Please get down from that tree so I can introduce myself to you."

Vinepaw shifted further into the tree, her brown fur blending with the tree's bark. There's no way that cat could see her! Then she realized..

The border?! She was on their border! Vinepaw panicked and looked down at the cat, her green eyes the only thing that didn't camoflauge her.

Lil’ Delusion listened to the leaves rustling and the birdsong for a while before sitting down. He looked up and saw two green eyes watching him. "Whoever you are, you will be stuck up in that tree until you get down. " He stated. "I will be staying down here for as long as it takes." Lil’ Delusion waited.

She meowed then tilted her head. "But you can call me Vine. I don't want to be reminded of my clan." She added.

The older tom briefly dipped his head and said, "It is a pleasure to meet you Vine! What brings you out here?" Lil’ Delusion had no idea that she was temporarily exiled. He only met a few exiled clan cats in his lifetime. He stood up to his full height.
