It was quiet, all accept for the few snores of her littermates. The birds had not woken to sing their song and the sun had yet to wake. Adderkit lay curled up in the far said of the nest, watching the slow rise and fall of her mother's and sibling chest confirming to her they were still asleep unless they had somehow mastered breathing in a way that made one assume they were asleep. Which she doubted they did. Slowly she rose from the nest, careful not to disturb any of her siblings that slept close to her. She didn't want to risk one of the louder ones to wake up and complain or something that would result in waking everyone else up. As quietly as she possibly could, she climbed out of the nest and made her way towards the exit of the den. Ofcourse her paws steps could be much quieter even completely silent but she knew that would take time and a whole lot of practice. As long as she wasn't stomping around she was sure this was quiet enough.

Slipping out the den into the cool outside, she lounged into a graceful stretch before sitting down and giving her fur a brief groom. Once again it could be better but atleast she was trying to look presentable. She had a gift to deliver after all, she couldn't be looking like something you'd find at the bottom of a freshkill pile. The sky was a dark blue that seemed to get lighter the longer she sat there, soon the sun would rise along with the warriors and maybe her mother too. Standing up once more she quickly travelled towards the mound above the nursery that was covered with grass and wild flowers of different color's, sizes and scent. She wasted little time picking her favourites and neatly sorting them together like how she watched the medicine cats do with their plants. From afar ofcourse, she never went into the den herself. She didn't want to bother them ofcourse, becuase like all important cats in the clan they were busy. That's why she got up so early, now she could go visit them without having to worry about them being busy helping her clanmates because it was to early!

Picking up her small erray of wild flowers; white, blue and purple, she crossed the clearing towards the medicine cat den which was nestled under the roots of a tree. Linchen hanged in front of the entrance, like a curtain of sorts. Some days she would wander here just to pick through the lichen and watch what was happening in the den. Not for long ofcourse! She didn't want to be scolded. Now that she was here though she realised marching into the den this early in the morning might not have been the best idea. Oh. Adderkit sat outside the den patiently wait for any sign of movement, so she could give her gift and ask her questions. Or not ask any questions and just give her gift depending on if she was welcomed or not. This plan was to really thought through and she could mostly like spend the next few hours sitting her until one of the medicine cats decided to walk out the den which they might not do...

rookfire had taken the last shift, a new thing they had started doing after he had become medicine cat apprentice and grousepaw disappeared from their shared sleeping arrangement, ran sandpaper tongue through mossfreckles slick fur until the younger yet more experienced medics breathing had evened out at which point he had stood from their nest, taken a bleary eyed look at the herb storage before settling halfway to the exit. the small stream rushing quietly by his paws was almost enough to coax the former enforcer back to join his clanmates in sleep but its cool water, quickly soaking muzzle and paws he held in was enough of a wake up call that he finally went from simply fighting to stay awake to taking the time to groom disshevled dark fur to lay flat as much as possible. as thick fur, no doubt inherited from his father, grew thicker and slightly longer in preperation of leaf bares biting cool its been taking far too long to reach a satisfactory result but at the very least it wouldnt stand off his body all spikey as it did throughout the warmer seasons. in a way, he was grateful for the time he was to get up now, able to get himself presentable for whatever they day would throw at him before leaving mossfreckle alone at the peak of dawn to take a walk, picking his way through a different part of their territory each day.

he was close enough to the exit to keep an eye on whatever went on right outside, that was why he hadnt stayed back in the nest by mossfreckles side but instead chosen cool rock over comfortable warmed up moss. thereby, it wasnt a surprise when he, though after a good moment due to the kits size and his attention being devided between his pelt and the outside, noticed the kit standing there, staring in. he had no idea how long the kit had been sitting there but i couldnt be all that long given he was pretty sure he had not seen any living creature at the lichen curtain when he first sat down at the stream. sleepy confusion set in almost immediately and he stood to make his way over to the kit, almost half convinced he was hallucinating their presence until seeing them right by his paws.

"what're ya doin' here so early?" he spoke, quiet voice low and cracking after hours of silence and softly enough to hopefully avoid sounding accusatory despite the flat delivery and wording of his question. silver eyes skimmed the kits body for any injuries, even if he doubted a hurt kit would be all alone, before taking note of the flowers held gently.
