Closed Adopted Kits

Hey, this is something I was really curious about, but if a She-Cat adopts a kit, do they stay in the nursery with them, or return to the warrior den?
Since they wouldn’t be feeding the kits themselves, would they still be expected to carry out warrior duties?
Just curious, since my main OC (Heather’Tail) has adopted a kit, so..
