Emerging from the warrior´s den, Skyshade made her way over to the apprentice´s den and stuck her head through the entrance, keeping her voice low. ´´Eveningpaw! Are you ready?´´

Eveningpaw thought they heard their name be called. Who could possibly be- Oh, that's right! Their training was starting today! They smiled, fur bristling with excitement. A territory tour would be necessary, yes, and maybe a little hunting? What would they do today? They couldn't wait to finally start their training, they'll learn so much and be able to help out the Clan in no time!

"Yes, yes!" They called out, jumping from their nest immediately, almost trampling another apprentice in the process. "I'm ready!"

Eveningpaw was quick to emerge from the den, smiling. They padded up towards Skyshade, their mentor, and flashed her a warm smile.

"Hello!" They said, a purr tinging their voice. "What will we do today? Anything productive?"

´´I am afraid that we won´t be doing anything very exciting today,´´ Skyshade meowed briefly with a flick of an ear. She turned blue eyes on Eveningpaw. ´´We´ll be doing a tour of the territory today.´´

Eveningpaw felt a slight twinge of disappointment at Skyshade's words, ears drooping.

"Oh, that's fine," they shrugged, their multicoloured tail lashing against the ground, kicking up small dust clouds. "Territory tours are important too, aren't they?"

Blinking sympathetically, Skyshade touched her nose to the apprentice´s ear. ´´I know it doesn´t sound very interesting, Eveningpaw, but a true warrior knows their territory by heart. Where all the best prey is, where the borders are, where the best places for ambushes are located...´´ The dark-gray-and-white she-cat trailed off softly. ´´Besides, you need to know your territory so that way you can learn how to hunt and fight. ShadowClan fights best here in our own territory.´´

Eveningpaw's ears perked up happily. Skyshade was very understanding, they assumed their apprenticeship and relationship with their mentor would go smoothly, just as they were hoping it would be. They smiled, nodding.

"You're right! A true ShadowClan warrior knows their territory. And I'm going to be one of the true ShadowClan warriors! I'll know all about the territory!" Eveningpaw suppressed the urge to skip around in circles, excited to start their training. And with an important lesson to begin with, too!

Eveningpaw nodded fast. They bounded towards the camp exit, stopping a little away from Skyshade.

"What are we waiting for? Let's go, then!" They tapped their tail on the ground expectantly, almost shaking with excitement. The beginning of their training! Finally! They'd finally be of use to the Clan, one way or another!
