Thrushkit looked around for a moment before pouncing on yet another leaf. It seemed all he did these days, like he had a minor obsession with catching leaves. In all fairness it was fun! Thrushkit wouldn't really do if it wasn't fun. He took this time to inspect the leaf. He ran his paw over the ridges and lumps, veins and points. He flicked his tail, unsure of how to describe this leaf. It was like any other, crooked lines and both sides that came to a point. It was green, only the slightest bit yellow because of the harsh sun. He couldn't tell what tree it came from, though it most certainly wasn't a pine. Pines had very, very spiky leaves! This one was much rounder in shape with less jagged parts. It also had a stem, unlike any other pine needles he'd seen! For what it was worth, Thrushkit was learning types of leaves faster than any Clan History or whatever he could've taken. Not that knowing types of leaves really mattered, he just thought it was pretty cool! Leaves were kind of hard to differintiate, but he'd leapt on and examined so many, it was as easy as well, looking up at the sky!

”Heyyy.” A sharp voice sounded from somewhere in front of Thrushkit.
At that moment, Ashkit pounced out of a shadowy corner of the clearing, landing in front of the younger kit.
“Hey Thrushkit! You know, can I just.. talk to you quickly?” they asked, grinning.

"EEK!! Who are you!!"

He squeaked, fur bristling as the other kit suddenly came by. He didn't really know them, but they seemed to know him! It was so creepy. What did they want?!

Thrushkit hid away his leaf, making his stature more confined, watching as the kit grinned at him. He didn't like this one bit! He didn't even know who they were, what they wanted, and their intentions!! Intentions were very important. Very!! And without knowing them he'd think it to be something bad. Until this other kit proved themself of good judgement, he wouldn't answer a single question, nuh uh! That was only fair. If they knew him, then he needed to know them before doing anything drastic. He was going into apprenticeship and if he made a mistake, he wouldn't know what to do! It would become the bane of his existence. Way more awful then any other mistake! It would remain in his mind for all of eternity!!

Well, now he was being dramatic. Anyways, Thrushkit continued looking at them, a slight glare on his face.

”I- oh. Uhm..” they frowned.
Ashkit was shocked.
Nobody had ever been scared of them before.
Looking around, they spotted a nice leaf at their paws (not thrush’s!) which would probably make a good and quick apology gift.
“I’m.. sorry.” they gently apologised, giving the nice leaf to Thrushkit.
Ashkit had never really had to apologise to someone, so they felt odd saying it.
They waited patiently for a response.

Thrushkit opened his posture a bit, accepting the leaf with hesitance. Okayy... maybe this wasn't as bad as he thought. You can't always judge a cat off of first glance, after all.

"It's okay. What'd you need?"

His big hazel eyes stared at the dark-colored kit. Were they friends? Wow! What if he'd just made a new friend? That'd be so cool! This cat and him could be the best of friends! He'd already, possibly, made friends with Palekit, and Palekit was pretty cool! And there was Muddypaw, and Mosquitokit- oh! And Lionflop of course!

Thrushkit silently brought his tail over his front paws, looking expectantly at the other kitten.

Ashkit then perked up again.
“Anyway! As I was saying, and since we are, like, totally friends now — my name’s Ashkit by the way — would you like to come with me to this very cool ceremony tonight that I’m holding?” they spoke rapidly.
Hopefully if they went POW POW with their words, Thrushkit would be instantly interested in joining?

Friends Thrushkit heard only that word for a moment, his insides feeling like bubbles all of a sudden. Then they acknowledged the other words, eyes going wide and starstruck.

"Of course!"

He grinned, believing he was doing a good thing. This was how you kept your friendships, right? At least that's what he thought. Trying your best to constantly support you, your friend, and the entire friendship. It was a lot to handle but Thrush thought he'd be just fine. If he couldn't, then how could he expect to have any friends in the future! This was probably the easiest it had ever been. And no cat had really proclaimed to him that they were friends. With others it was more implied, or maybe they weren't even friends? He thought back to Palekit, were they having fun or friends? Neither of them had spoke sense. Maybe it was the start?

Well, now that he'd figured that out, he was even more than overjoyed. He hadn't really had a friend sense Lionflop, and Lionflop was well... not here anymore. A pang of sorrow filled his gut but he quickly pushed it away. Lionflop would be happy to see him making a friend! So he shouldn't be sad.

"What's your name, first."

Ashkit giggled.
“I already told you, silly — I’m Ashkit!” they exclaimed.
Ashkit turned away, as the conversation came to a close.
“Anyway, meet me at the entrance of camp tonight. Palekit’s coming too. You know him, right? I have seen you both talking before..” they spoke, before trailing off.
At that moment, Ashkit began to mumble something about ‘The Stareater’…
Suddenly, they snapped back to reality. “Oh! Yeah! Sorry, I forgot we were still talking.”
They paused.
“So, meet me at the camp entrance tonight, yeah?”

Thrushkits paws shifted in an effort to contain his excitement. He was going to be part of something! And Palekit would be there, which meant they could talk more. Maybe then they'd officially friends?

"Okay!"

He went back to observing his leaf, wishing time would pass a lot faster. Maybe they would all be playing a game of moss ball? Three kits was a lot! But he was already technically friends with both of them. So he'd be okay. He'd be just fine. He rested his chin on his paws. He was going to be fine. And if there was any time to worry, it was when this event was happening, not before. So that's exactly what he did. He ignored his stomach churning, continuing to do his favorite thing in the entire world.
