As you approach, you are unnerved by their smoldering gazes.

You know you're being judged for all your worth, but you're determined to make your case. It's not every day cats try to reincarnate, and you're tired of being trapped here. Perhaps your first life didn't go as planned.. but the next one is going to be better.

All you have to do is answer them.

"What makes you stand out from the rest of the cats who want another chance?"

Rotthroat was sitting quietly, his gaze fixed on the cats of different ages around him. He looked at them with respect and warmth, especially for the kits and younger ones, who reminded him of the hope he had lost long ago. He sighed and softly said, I never had a proper kithood. I know that you’ve heard this before, but… I did some things that I regret doing for my dad’s approval. His face showed the pain of his regret and the anger he felt towards his parents. He wished that he had not been born into that family, and wondered if things would have been different if he had been born into a different family.

As the large brown tabby came stomping out from the dark mist, green eyes leveled the other with a glare. Nothing had started yet and already he was hearing a poor reason, the weakest one he's heard. "Okay and?" he paused, maybe giving the other a chance to continue if they had anything else. Surely this one had more to give than just a mention of a sad kithood and wanting to prove a deadbeat. "That can't be the only thing you can give to convince us to let you go back, that's such poor reasoning, I'm already not wanting to give you a yes" he snarked.

"You didnt have a proper kithood."
The words were flat and unimpressed.

Barkblaze emerged from the mist, starry pelt a far sight better then these two darkened cats but he looked down on Rotthroat far more then he ever would the other warden. "Lichenflood is right, that's more poor a reasoning then we usually hear." The toms lip curled as his head cocked and eyes narrowed. "Ive heard some interesting rumors Rotthroat. Did you or did you not kill a kit? Did you or did you not kill an apprentice, and a queen also? Ive even heard whispers she hadnt even kitted when you did so. Tell me Rotthroat, what crimes is it you are trying to justify by 'not having a proper kithood' because I think that changes some things." If this tom was trying to escape horrid crimes and his punishment in the dark forest to a kinder potential next life under such a petty excuse he might just be attacked for it and deserve it.


And Barkblaze hadnt even mentioned another issue that'd show a lack of repent and that this whole thing could be blatant manipulation on Rotthroats part.

It seemed as though her "companions" got there first, so for a moment Snowleopard remained hidden in the shrouded mist. Icy blue-gray eyes narrowed at Rotthroat as he spoke, waiting for more of an explanation to come. But... that was it. Just that he had a rotten kithood? It made the dark forest warrior want to scoff. She'd heard the whispers of this cat; that he had been caught killing others. The only thing she didn't know is if these cats had bee suffering at all, or why they specifically were chosen to be killed.

"I am curious to hear that as well," came the eerie voice of the spirit as she emerged from the shadows to come stand beside the other three warrens, flicking a tail towards Barkblaze. It would definitely help sway her one way or another, because right now this cat was not giving them much to go on. "Was it just your father's approval you were seeking? Or was he actually the one behind the deaths, and you simply followed along like a little lackey?"

Brokenstar had noticed a lull in the discussion, following Rotthroat being questioned by his attending judges. "I've seen newborns with more resolve and integrity than you. Learn to speak for yourself before you meekly come before us and waste our time, or don't bother showing your face again. Get the hell out of our sight." He sincerely hoped this one didn't bother, if he was going to entirely lack accountability and blame a parent for his misdeeds. Wishes and wants were nothing when reality was never so kind, and the only cards one could play were the ones they were dealt.

He dismissed the Wardens, signaling an end to this pathetic plea for a new start. If Rotthroat tried again, he'd better be ready with a stronger pitch.
