Daywhisper yawned, slowly rising to her paws. The mostly white she-cat stretched and looked around the warriors' den. It was not only her first night back in the warriors' den but also the first day of training with her new apprentice, Ashpaw.
The Windclan warrior took a deep breath before exiting the den, squinting against the harsh sunlight until finally her eyes adjusted. From there she made her way to the apprentice den.
She cleared her throat before lowering her head into the entrance "Ashpaw, are you there?" She called out softly to avoid disturbing any resting apprentices. Her green eyes scanned the den, trying to pick her apprentice out of the many sleeping cats in the den.

Ashpaw’s head jerked up. He actually already woke up, but he had decided to stay in the den, just to observe his new surroundings. The voice that called him made him jump a bit because he didn’t expect it. But he quickly came back to his senses as he recognised the voice. “Yeah, I’m coming” he whispered before getting up. Trodding towards the entrance, he saw the form of his white furred mentor. “Good morning,” he said. “You came to start to teach me things?” He asked in a tone that resembled more an affirmation or confirmation tone.

She gave him a warm smile, her tail tip twitched "Good morning, did you sleep well?" She asked, out of the habit of asking her own kits that question. Wait, he'd said more- right. " Yes, Today we'll do borders and a bit of hunting" She said, a purr rising in her throat as she turned and exited the den, waiting for Ashpaw to follow.
This was going to be a good first training session, she hoped it would be at least. It would be nice to have a refresher of the borders anyway. She was excited to get back out there.

Ashkit walked behind Daywhisper. As he did so, he started talking. “What kind of prey are in WindClan?” he asked. Maybe he had killed some of these types of prey, as it wasn’t the first time he was in meadows.

Daywhisper • She / Her • Windclan warrior • 35+ moons
Daywhisper hummed softly in thought, pondering his question for a moment "Well- most of our prey consists of rabbits, though I've seen the occasional squirrel, mouse and various birds" She said humming in thought "Sometimes around Shadowclan you can find a frog, though I think I've only ever seen one as an apprentice myself" She said with a laugh.
In all her rambling about prey, they'd reached the first border. " Ah! Speaking of Shadowclan, here's the border we share with them. It's called the Whispering Wetlands. I honestly wouldn't tread too close to this border—Shadowclan tends to be a bit testy." She said, narrowing her eyes as she peered across the Shadowclan border.
She had to consider what border to hit up next, perhaps Riverclan, then Thunderclan. Riverclan generally made the she-cat uneasy, but adding that they'd just returned to their territory caused that to be amplified. She wouldn't openly express that unease though.
The mostly white-furred warrior took a breath, regrouping her thoughts "I like to come here when it's warmer, the trees from Shadowclan create a lot of shade and it's a great place to cool down" She said, adding that as more of an afterthought.
With a nod, she hummed quietly "Alrighty, next we'll head to the Sedgewater Valley, then finish off at the Thunderglade." Day said, turning to Ashpaw with a soft smile.

Ashpaw nodded slowly. He had seen rabbits a few times, but never actually killed one. They were too big for him at the time. But birds and mice, he had killed some. Then his mentor talked about frogs. He never actually saw one of these, and was curious what they looked like. “Daywhisper, what do frogs look like?” he asked.
Ashpaw lifted his head at the mention of the border. I’ve been here before, he thought. “Hey, this was where I first encountered WindClan cats! They were on a patrol.” he said, partially for himself. He then nodded when Daywhisper talked about the shade.
“Okay,” he said. “I think I’ve never been to these borders” he said, curious. Before leaving this border, he asked a final question. “Daywhisper, why is there a strong smell off something here? I don’t think I noticed it when I first arrived…”
{ @/seeingstars - Daywhisper - aaaah I’ll never get used to calling my cat Ashpaw, I called him Ashkit in this post and had to change it to Ashpaw lol}
