The grey tom padded up to the apprentice den and took a deep breath. 'Windflowerpaw!' he called softly, determined not to wake any other apprentices. Flicking his tail, Basil waited patiently outside. No, he wasn't nervous, Basil told himself, though being a mentor was a complete new experience for him. It would be fine, though, right? 'Windflowerpaw, you there?'

Windflowerpaw's ear twitched at the sound of a voice. "Huh..what?" she mumbled sleepily. The multicolored she-cat twisted her body into a stretch and hit someone with a paw on the way. "Sorry." they meowed before rising again to her paws. Blazing blue orbs searched around her mossy nest for the sound until her eyes locked on green ones. Hey..they know this tom! Dawnstar introduced him as Basilwisp when she was made an apprentice!

Wait. There can be only one reason why he's here.

The small apprentice rushed out of the den, watching where they placed their cream colored paws. "Basilwisp!" she exclaimed, meaning it more as a question. The sudden tiredness she had two seconds ago whisked away in excitement to start training. At least they'd hope they are starting training and not cleaning the elders den. "Are we starting training? Today? Now?" she queried.

A tiny bit overwhelmed by the apprentice's excitement, he took a small step back. 'Calm down, will you? You'll wake up all the other apprentices if you keep making so much noise,' Basil mewed sternly. 'But yes, we are going to start training today. The grey tom started padding to the camp entrance. 'Follow me, and don't mess around.'

"Sorry!" she apologized in a loud whisper. The other apprentices were rather lazy anyways. Blue eyes glowed as her mentor confirmed what she was so excited for. Without another word she followed the grey warrior, her gait holding a bounce. "Where are we going..wait..or doing first?" she inquired.

Well, here goes nothing. 'I'll take you on a tour of the territory, then we'll start stealth training,' he told the apprentice. His green gaze swept over her. 'Are you hungry? You won't be able to eat for a while,' Basil warned.

"Yes stealth! I'm the stealthiest cat you know." she challenged. The apprentice shook her head rapidly. "Nope! Lets go!" Windflowerpaw chirped before racing to the entrance.

'Wait up!' he yelped in surprise and ran nimbly and swiftly towards the entrance. 'How can I take you on a territory tour if you're set on going yourself?' Basil challenged his apprentice, wanting to see how she would react. It's always a good thing to know cats better before anything else, he mused.

She tapped a paw to her chin in thought. "Y'know, that makes sense." She tapped her paws on the forest floor, waiting patiently. "Well after you Basil!" The multicolored apprentice flicked her tail impatiently. They wanted to be out in the forest already.

The tom frowned. 'An important quality of a warrior is patience,' he told the apprentice sternly. 'But moving on, follow me.' Basil stalked out of the camp and into the pine forest, before spinning around to look at his apprentice. 'As we walk, I'll talk to you about our territory,' he mewed.
