Violetpaw woke with a start, feeling rather refreshed.
The dappled silver-and-white she-cat sat up in her nest and gave her pelt a quick grooming as she waited on Skyflame to come and get her.
The molly glanced over to where some apprentices were still asleep and to where others were playing.

Dappled light weakly penetrated the den as Mallowpaw woke up. For a moment she felt good, refreshed, but then the memories came back. Mapleface's fangs sinking into the soft flesh of Mapleface's throat. Bumblestar killing Sunglow.
Pushing down the memories, Mallowpaw sat up and gave her blue-grey fur a few licks. It was an advantage of having short fur; it was managable. A downside, she thought as a chilly breeze blew through the den, was that it didn't provide much warmth.
As Mallowpaw glanced around the den, her eyes settled on a silver-and-white apprentice. "Hi," she mewed absentmindedly.

On his way into the den, Wolfpaw had stopped by the fresh-kill pile to collect some of the scattered feathers discarded by others. He hadn't seen his little pal in a bit, and just assumed he'd been busy.
So here he was, feathers bunched in his jaws as he sought out Beachbaby. "You in here?" His gaze swept over the den, looking for the familiar creamsicle pelt.
