If LionPaw wanted to be successful in training, he’d also have to know where he’d be doing such teachings. He had to know and feel the area. Also, if LionPaw wanted to be the best, he had to learn from the best. Of course he had Mr. Hawkbite / kind of dad guy to teach him cool skills, but who else could he get on his train of ‘you’re important, teach me.’ He had to consider his options carefully. DawnStar was busy with her own stuff right now…MistleWhisker seemed too important…the medicine cat was surely busy- wait, didn't MossFreckle obtain a new apprentice recently? Yes- RookFire. It was at his own ceremony. LionPaw had also heard that the former was permitted to keep his apprentices, surely he had time for LionPaw as well?
Once the tom decided whom he shall bother with the utter privilege of taking him on a tour, he set out to find said cat. His baby blues darted around, looking for a cat that may smell of herbs, a darker colored cat he believed. Was that him? He supposed it was, or at least his legs did, as they were already scurrying over. “Hey. You. You’re RookFire, right?”he questioned, though without waiting for any response he went on “could you take me on a territory tour? By chance?” he questioned, his tail swaying impatiently.
it had been a while since he'd been asked for training yet that wasnt anywhere near usual still, perhaps some apprentices took his promotion (to a position that stated apprentice, funnily enough) as a sign that he wasnt to be asked for training anymore and perhaps some medicine cats wouldnt want that but he had learned enough in his earlier moons to be able to split his time more evenly. ride the waves of the things shadowclan threw at him in his new context easily while also continuing to take his former enforcer duties in stride. i mean, if he could, why shouldnt he? whatever, back to the point, lionpaw, whom he was pretty sure had been tigerkit before and just been apprenticed..or maybe the other way around? some other kit was lionkit and they got a different name because this cat already existed? man maybe he should start listening more carefully at meetings..
anyway, the apprentice, lionpaw or tigerpaw, he still didnt know, approached him confidently and at a rapid pace for whatever reason. if the small brown tom wasnt well, small, this mightve been scarier than this (pretty funny situation actually) had been, a fully grown cat approaching him like that and rookfire mightve backed up in fear of collision. "sure am" he confirmed, letting the sentence ring out for a second before continuing in case the apprentice decided to not await the second part of his reply because continuing to yap on. "lucky for ya, i dont have anythin' to do right now, so sure. lets go hm?" the medic prompted, giving a quick jerk of his tail in company of a tilt of his head, before leading the way out of camp.
it was still relatively early in the day and truthfully, there wasnt really anything better to do right now. no use in gathering or hunting anything due to the current state of both of the storages, and he had already taken his stroll earlier, no cats to treat, so training was probably the best thing to spend his time on. additionally, it kind of felt like his responsibility to take on some of the training stuff that could only be taught outside of camp due to the lockdown still in place.
[ sorry this is very open ended and hard to reply to but lion could askkk uhh about being a med? or enforcer? if he knows about that. orrrr request to see a specific part of the territory :3 @Rowan ]

Good, he got the correct cat. And he was open to teaching him. Obviously! Who wouldn’t want to teach such an insightful cat as himself? He quickly padded after the medicine cat, not letting his gaze leave the older for a moment. This was super cool. And he could question the tom as well! He wouldn’t mind, right? Well—of course not! Who doesn’t like talking about themselves?
“So- RookFire, what was it like being an enforcer? Oo- how’d you get there?” he questioned, intrigued in whatever the cat had to say. Probably because he wanted to get there as well, but who cared about his motives?
@alec (sorry this has taken a bit to get too! I hoped to get too it sooner but the Atari sucked up all my time to try and organize some stuff and such)
the two cats moved into the territory, passing through a good part of the territory before the medic spoke up, "territory, i assume ya dont need ta' hear a explaination on any of this.. ya can hunt n gather more or less whatever here." that was all he would say until they moved over the next scent line and into the first actual landmark. "dawning woods, not as many trees as some other parts of our territory have. lots more sun here, lots of small prey n herbs ut also larger predators."
rookfire squinted at the apprentice, confusion passing over his face, he wasnt an enforcer anymore and hadnt been in a good while now. had..had this apprentice not realised he had been promoted again recently. "err i'm not an enforcer anymore, havent been in a while. ya know 'm a medicine cat now but i almost wanna say bein' an enforcer is kinda like a warrior but bein' asked of more. cant really tell ya if i like bein' a warrior more though cuz i only spent a moment as one before bein' promoted ta' enforcer" a huff of a laugh escaped his maw, pulled into a grin, at the end of his answer to the first part of lionpaws question. "dunno if ya know but i came from riverclan around err seven or so moon ago, trained for a moon n got taken to prove my loyalty at the riverclan raid. fought fadingsun, thats the guy that used ta' being their leader, n the next meetin' dawnstar called me up n ya know the rest. i wasnt expectin' it at all, just sorta happened." rookfire finally replied with a shrug, he didnt mind talking about his past too much if it was apprentices he was conversing with, trying to see the things he left behind as a motivation rather than something to hide in shame. besides, apprentices curious about a higher way wasnt something he would pass up on.

Large predators, hm? His nose wrinkled in disgust for a moment, thinking of his mother’s now scarred face, and that fox and that damn kit was to blame for her injury…she never deserved that. Perhaps knowing the territory well would be more helpful than he had believed before, though he still really hoped he’d somehow suck some lesson such as hunting from this cat, as it seemed his mentor wouldn’t be much a help to him, at least not yet.
He listened with perked ears for an answer, hoping for an interesting answer…he didn’t get as much he hoped though. He knew he wasn’t enforcer anymore, check. He was at one point though so he had to still know the ropes. Oh…and he came from RiverClan? That was an interesting piece of information that he hadn’t been aware of before. He was partially shocked how quickly the tom had soared up ranks, but he was also inspired. What he had to reflect on?…How could he get there? FadingSun…that weakling who was hardly worthy of being called leader, wasn’t around to fight anymore…so what could he do? Perhaps…he glanced over to RookFire. “How’dya think I could get there?” he questioned, rather blunt. “It’s- I don’t mean that in the most egoistic way…I want to protect my clan, do em good…live up to my…” well…how did he finish that? The cat wasn’t really his father, but he saw him that way and…honestly he probably knew—“my sorta dad? Not really- but uh- HawkBite. I want to live up to him then make my Ma proud.” he shared, really just to share about himself.

rookfires whisker brows furrowed slightly in something between trying to figure out who in stars name this apprentices father was and explaining how he had archieved what he had so far and mirror that to a cat he knew little to nothing about. ah well looked like one of his questions was answered rather briskly, so hawkbite, which was kind of odd in the way that he couldnt remember ever seeing them together or hawkbite mentioning lionpaw but man, what did he know honestly? his relationship with hawkbite was nothing if not neutral, simply work related, nothing more. though rookfire had to admit he did appreciate the way he ran this thing and he'd been nice enough to get on rooks good side the one time he treated him after the fox attack. oh stars that had been so long now hadnt it? wild. anyhow. "hmm i s'pose ya just gotta show yer active n this means more than a safe space ta' sleep at night for ya. focus on trainin', show yer engaged n either dawnstar sees somethin' in ya or ye can challenge a current enforcer once yer a warrior." rookfire shrugged before cocking his head, gaze shifting to the apprentice. "didn' know yer 'sorta dad' was hawkbite, whos yer mum?" the medicine cat queried, padding along the path previous patrols had carved through the short grass and along bushes and trees. the next place he had chosen was the evergreen grotto, partially because he really liked the area and also because it was more or less close to dawning woods. besides, he didnt really want to cross the land lostspark had died on just yet.
"evergreen grotto, phenomenal for herbs. lot'a moss due to the humidity in the shade over there, more herbs in the center where more light reaches 'em" rookfire explained, taking care to avoid stepping on and herbs while leading the apprentice around this part of the territory. once they had crossed the sun speckled grounds and arrived at the large nook near the center, the former enforcer stilled. "'s a cave, not very deep but ya can use it as shelter if ya need. theres water here too"
