Streams of sunlight flooded into the dusty den, one ray falling on Luna's curled up form. The first thing she became aware of was the warmth, then the pink glow of the sunlight from the back of her eyelids. She didn't want to move, enjoying the warmth after the freezing night. But of course, thoughts of all the responsibilities of the day had to come flooding in, ruining the bliss. Slowly, she forced her eyes open and let out a long yawn before standing and stretching. She glanced over to where Blue usually slept, but it was vacant. He's probably out bathing again, she concluded, rolling her mismatched eyes. Really, he was going to lose all that precious fur if he didn't stop.

Luna smiled despite her annoyance. Though he irritated her, his obsession with his appearance was amusing sometimes. Shaking her head, the she-cat braced herself for the cold and climbed out of the den. A cool breeze welcomed her, sending an involuntary shiver down her spine. The sun was hidden behind some gray clouds now, making it even more chilly. Luna glanced around the grassy clearing before padding into the woods. There was food to catch and territory to check.

The red cat began to walk away from her den ‘Shadow can watch the kits’ She thought to herself as she slowly walked into the forest she listened to the birds a smile on her face, she could her mice scuffeling in the bushes her ears perked up as she noticed this.
The small red cat smiled as her den disappeared over the horizon she smiled as she looked back at it her light brown eyes were calm and happy she clearly hadn’t been calm for a long time because she had learned kits are a lot of work.. she paused upon scenting another cat her eyes narrowed as she noticed their scent everywhere who knew she and her kits lived so close to others

Luna padded silently along, stepping over twigs and dodging tree trunks and limbs. She let the tranquillity of the forest soak in, a content smile spread across her creamy face. Birds chirped, leaves and pine needles crunches underfoot, and every once in a while sunlight broke through the gray clouds and warmed her fur. Though she loved her brother's company, it was nice to get out on her own. Others might get lonely, it being just the two of them; but Luna, if she had a choice, would still take it just the way it was. She couldn't stand the thought of living with a large group-- it would drain the life from her.

The loner stopped suddenly, paw raised, when she thought she heard something rustling leaves nearby. Instinctively, she crouched low to the ground, ears perked to catch anymore sounds. She inhaled the air, trying to catch a scent, but the wind was blowing the wrong way. She contemplated moving on, but, eyes steady, decided to wait to see if anything emerged.

The molly flared her nostrils smelling the other cat's scent... who is this, why are they so close to us she thought her eyes wide her smile that was crossing her muzzle disappeared.
Who are you she mutters in her head, she wasn't in the mood for a fight or anything like that she had just nearly lost her mate, she didn't want to loose her own life her kits were still young

Luna waited, ears perked, until her legs began to ache from crouching so long. No other sounds could be heard besides the wind blowing through the forest. Must have been a bird, she decided, a little disappointed, while stretching her strained muscles and standing. It would have been nice to find something to eat so quickly, she thought, but shrugged the feeling off. It wouldn't have been much fun though.

Her mismatched eyes surveyed the area as she wondered whether to change directions. The trees groaned and dead grass and ferns danced in the wind. Leaves spiraled from the trees onto the ground. Leaf-bare was definitely here, or approaching at least.. And then would come the cold. Even the thought of it caused an involuntary shiver to run down Luna's spine. This would be her and Blue's first winter away from the barn.. She couldn't seem to be able to shake the troublesome thoughts away. Would it be hard to catch food? Would the den stay warm enough during the frosty nights? These were the kind of thoughts that seemed to come most frequently into her mind lately. Blue always said she worried too much.
Luna couldn't help but snort. Since when did she start considering his advice, the one who'd rather starve than get his paws muddy trying to catch a fish? Although, she had to admit, if it hadn't been for him, she herself would have starved waiting for their farmer to return home. Blue was the one who'd suggested leaving while she was too worried about the unknown.

Luna snapped back into the present, the feeling of someone else's presence nagging her. The fur along her back started to raise. She lifted her snout and futilely tried to catch a scent, but the wind was still blowing the wrong way. Was she just imagining things? If there was someone there, though... All that was in her wanted her to turn back the other way, but she decided it was best to check it out. They would need to know if there were any strangers about.

With those thoughts, Luna silently slunk into the brush. It took her a moment, but she finally spotted red fur through all the flora. Another cat! Quickly, she crouched low once again, hoping they hadn't spotted her as well while she waited to see what they were up to.
