StoatLeap’s form was well hidden despite her glaring bright fur, now coated with thick slathers of mud and water that hid even the slightest hint of her scent, breathing slow and ears pricked she listened to the hasty pants of her kitten as he waddled up close to her after struggling to maintain her pace. They were hidden by a thick swath of brush, and the general shadow of the area, her eyes narrowed and trained on the brightly coloured figure moving just on the opposing side of the border. The quickened breathing made her ears flick as she glared at her kitten, letting out a soft shush before refocusing. She had planned to share her litters first hunt with RoseKit, but unfortunately TickKit needed the lesson much more than her right now. Her eyes moved away from their target for tonight and on the similarly mud-slathered shape of TickKit, whose body was shivering and yet determination was painted upon his face. She let out a slight amused snort, at last he was trying. Lifting her tail just above the ground and sinking low she stalked along, because TickKit was far too small and inexperienced to cause any harm he was here to observe the way it was done, thanks to the little runts detour to the hiding game he seemed to have gained a better understanding of stealth ever so curiously. As she drew closer her ears twitched at the faint sound of humming, nose wrinkling she watched the brightly coloured ball of fur fumble around sniffing at things close to the ground, back turned and oblivious in all means to the two lurking dangers. She nudged TickKit to the side gently guiding him toward another patch of brush, this was the hard part. The marshlands thick pools of murky water played to her advantage as she sunk into the nearest one, icy cold nipped at her hind legs and paws as she waded through slowly. Although the water made her limbs feel heavy she hadn’t the mindset to complain, as she finally drew close enough she took a deep breath and slid underneath completely, her vision was clouded by the waters as she struggled to swim, she hadn’t ever learnt to swim before and never would this was simply apart of it. At best she was particularly good at holding her breath. The water stung her eyes and flooded into her mouth, submerging she gagged and coughed audibly, stumbling out of the water and letting her heavy body draw itself down and slump against the ground. A gasp sounded and she watched the ignorant prey scramble right up to the border, her flanks heaved from the effort of her odd little trick, but her scent was definitely far from shadowclans for the moment, she could be mistaken for a loner even. ‘Oh my- are you alright- ? You seem awfully tired I- I’m probably not supposed to be helping out strangers but uhm-.’ StoatLeap waited until the cat leaned close and took a pawstep more forward, the fear and panic in their voice relayed to her all she needed to know as she twisted herself throwing herself to her paws and launching her full weight at the cats legs grappling at them [Rolled 18] she heard the cat let out a shrill yelp as they toppled like a stone with an awkward thump, once more she twisted round and unsheathed her claws, sinking them deep into the cats shoulders. Blood oozed over the soft white fur turning it into a mess of crimson as the cats face contorted and scrunched. ‘HELP!!” The yowl for help was pitiful. StoatLeap watched the cat attempt to draw in another breath, but it was silenced by a yelp as her claws curled deeper. She kept constant pressure on the cats back forcing them to remain pinned and with her superior stature that made her more battle fit and stronger in build alone than this pathetic whining lump of prey under-paw. It was the equivalent of using one claw to keep a leaf on the floor, tearing it in the process. She knew TickKit was watching, so she wouldn’t be toying with her food today, but at least TickKit seemed to be taking it in quite nicely, good. She raked her claws down the cats back, and slid away from them as they clearly tried to bite back another yelp. Despite all the blood flowing from the cat they still tried to stand, StoatLeap decided to briefly do another mud-roll to hide her scent better, clearly there was too much pain for the prey-cat to handle. The cat seemed to be calling out names into the dark, no cat would come to save them of course. She was under the understanding there had been less cats going by the edges of the territory where they border with the clans. Which was simply by observation, maybe RiverClan had something distracting them or something but no matter what it was it keeping them at bay, and she could use that. When atlast the cat got to their paws stoatleap had grown too hungry to let them scrabble around anymore, it was simply time to end them, let whatever was beyond death take them and mark the success of the first family hunt. She forced them back over on their side and what she’d call mercifully scored her claws across their neck, then

Sank her teeth into the cat, tearing off a section of flesh. They couldn’t do anything to stop her from eating them, they were a preycat of course. She lifted her head up and turned her attention to Tick Kit, flicking her tail she cleared her throat and dropped what she usually would mask as a “tasty treat” onto the ground. ‘Eat it.
she waited for TickKit to come forward from his hiding spot, although from what she could see his eyes wide with shock and most likely fear. Once more she didn’t spare a second to decode what feeling was behind said widened eyes and puffed up fur. She held an unblinking glare as she waited.

Pepper Bounce
Purrks: Sweet as a flower (Inactive - not used)
He / Him - River Clan - Warrior

Pepper Bounce’s paws felt like some cat had attached stones to them and his tail dragged through the dirt, the thought of how his fur was being mucked up with such sloppy slow movements nibbled on his mind more than anything. Pepper Bounce hadn’t had a long walk on his own for what felt like moons but really was just a short time gap. Time went so slowly nowadays and every day dragged, he felt like there was nothing really left to do anymore. Oh dear, he wasn’t going to turn into one of those wackos who spend their days trodding along and moping around? Stars above no! Pepper Bounce paused to shake his head violently his thoughts were so muddled and intermingled he was sure that another doubt clogging up his common sense would send him spiralling. Envy overwhelmed him for a moment, as if every other cat he’d ever come across- even his beloved were simply so so much luckier than him. Clear minds, they could surely make decisions he could never- fight what he couldn’t. A lingering memory of his frozen state during the raid made by Thunder-clan made it hard to bite back self-doubt in every aspect of himself. He paused to scrape his claws across the mushy ground- blegh mush. He blinked, eyes finally open to his surroundings he Wrinkled his nose noticing how close he was to the border, a scent caught his attention and yet he couldn’t pick out from the mish mash of stale scents what it was- of course. Even an apprentice could do better than him with basic tasks. He would be stuck for the rest of his life sitting around if so much as- the scent got stronger and as if some-cat had slapped Pepper across the face his head perked up and he found himself in silence for once, shoving his nose toward the ground like a mutt he tried to pick up where it was strongest. What had him so fixated on finding the source? He couldn’t tell but surely it was important if his senses were screaming so much at him- screaming ever so loudly. A sloshing sound and thud caught his attention and as he turned his gaze the heaving body of a cat, drenched from tail to ear in water and clearly exhausted had him drawn like he was being baited. Feeling more like a fish than a cat Pepper Bounce neared the border although unseen hesitation lingered as he neared. Shadow-clan weren’t what he’d describe as. . . Kind, but this stranger- clearly not of said particularly violent clan, seemed too out in the open to be an attacker. Pepper had helped outsiders before, Lamb Fur being the most notable he could remember but he did that more out of a selfish desire to extend the number of those who knew him. ‘Oh my- are you alright- ? ’ Stupid stupid stuttering- he could tell there was fear in his stardamned voice. He probably seemed more like a pathetic prey peice than a riverclan warrior. He didn’t even know why he was scared. ‘ You seem awfully tired I- I’m probably not supposed to be helping out strangers but uhm-.’ Pepper Bounce inched forward in pawsteps that gradually quickened in pace. Until he was stuck at the very edge of the border- frozen eyes fixed on the cat another one or two pawsteps away from him. Now he’d gotten closer he could much easier pick out things like that underneath all this muck this cats fur was bright orange, stuck like a sore thumb out in the open. Definitely not shadow clan then. He debated on calling out some basic questions, paws uncomfortably kneading into the increasingly mushy marsh. In the sudden movement he couldn’t do so much as scream as the limp seemingly tired shape threw itself toward him, gagging as his legs were grappled and he slid down unwillingly to the floor- cold discomfort from the marsh- still mushy and the increasing fear and panic as he realised that this was the result of- well, him being such a failure at fighting and a major coward. He was about to shove some fighting strength into his body and yet it did not move, claws scored into his shoulders and he let out a yelp squeezing his eyes closed. His face scrunched and turned as he could feel the pain increasing, warm and unwelcome flow of red blood staining his fur. ‘HELP!’ The single plea for help to a saviour unknown. His throat hurt from the volume and yet he was not finished, readying another blurt it was silenced by a scream turned cry as the claws and wait forced upon him drew more pain across his body. Mind scrambling he tried to recollect himself- form a final thought. He had so much to live for- he had to see his kits and he should be there when they are born. He should be there when they open their eyes- not be the bad news brought to them and then a memory long forgotten. He still had to apologise to GarlicFeather, he had to make his mark in the world and engrave his name in everycats thoughts- he wanted to be remembered to be seen. Not die slow and painful here. Goldfish. He had to say goodbye- or say anything- anything but nothing.

He still had to- more pain- his vision was a shaky blurry mess as tears had glazed over any solid understanding of up or down. Claws sinking into his back and dragging down only strengthening his need to call for help. He couldn’t die- he couldn’t die he couldn’t die he couldn’t- paws shaking as he heaved from the effort and the growing nausea washing over him when his vision did manage to stabilise for a heartbeat or two he could only see the huge pool of red matted into his fur, how it seeped to the ground and how he knew that in a blink of realisation his name would simply be another in the masses of the already dead. He didn’t have a legacy just an apprentice he was too afraid to teach and weight upon his shoulders never relieved. As the cat who had so brutally fooled and attacked him turned toward something he shoved himself up with desperation to run and to run away and call for help- to have a last breath a last word. Anything. He tried calling out for his beloved, then his most hated, then every cat he ever knew. Their names only slunk to the darkness that crept into his vision and disappeared, failure to remain standing kicked him back down and kept him there. A pool of his own despair. His throat closed and then opened only to flood itself with crimson, he gagged and choked trying to claw his way back to stability only to be cut off. His vision seemed to fade and his weight lifted. Easing. After all the pain a feeling of grief washed over him as it faded, seeming to slip out of what once tied him to the ground and those around. Weightless and yet still forced to be tied to the dirt and blood he’d rest in.

[Still sick agh- but got this done and movin’ on to tick kits post!]

[Tick Kit]
[Purrks- Bewitched/Constant Hunger-Chill of Death-Shadow Fiend-Lyrebirds Lullaby]
[He Him] - [Shadowclan Kit] - [5 Moons]

TickKit was a big kit now, that was what Mother had told him as they made their trek toward the marsh that parted the river cats and Shadowclan cats from one another.. His paws were tired and ached but not as much as usual and more noticeably his stomach hurt. Not pain hurt but it just- it was very hard to describe so instead he’d just not describe it. TickKit had mud all over him and discomfort constantly squirmed over him as it gave him the horrible reminder of hide and seek. Fur coated in muck and dirt- disgusting grime he couldn’t rid himself of. Blinking himself out of his thoughts TickKit rubbed his paw over his nose ridding it of some loose dirt. Mother has also rolled in some mud, curiously she hadn’t spoken to him apart from a mild lecture on how he didn’t deserve to get the first hunt and she was only ‘doing this to correct him’ and he wasn’t sure it was right to say mother was being mean. Mother was never mean just acted nice in a different way. He struggled to keep alongside mother his body heaving from the effort as she seemed persistent on leaving him behind, they seemed to be hiding behind a plant thing and he blinked with surprise- although he hadn’t doubted mother of course, that they slotted perfectly to the surroundings. He poked his nose around sniffling and taking in the scents. He’d never been around this part before- but Mother clearly had as she offered a soft hush, a warm one at that. And TickKit was confident to take in as much as he could about this little session thing. Hunt cat whats it called- hopefully Mother was okay with him forgetting the name. The fluffy ball of a cat on the other side seemed dreadfully oblivious to Mother’s expertise in stealth. Clearly occupied in sniffling at the ground. His tail waggled around in the air like a dogs as he wiggled around till his belly was resting on the icy ground, eyes wide and rounded and mouth shut. TickKit let out a soft yelp as he was nudged up and out from the hiding place, he scrambled to where Mother guided to him another patch of plant things, he did another squirm until his body was once more resting against the ground. As mother parted from his side he watched with a busy bundle of thoughts stomping around in his mind. Mother had such smooth movement as she slid into the water- sinking TickKit felt a mild bought of fear plague him as he wondered if Mother knew how to swim- TickKit furrowed his brows watching Mother expose herself and lay down. Tiny claws unsheathing and sinking into the ground tearing it up his fur fluffed up, if mother got in trouble he could go and bat away the furball and protect her! Then she’d be proud of him again. (Had she ever been proud of him? He couldn’t put a claw on the thought) The cat came close to the border and TickKit’s eyes remained wide the whole time trained on the two from afar, he debated moving out of his hiding place curiosity ebbing him forward before the sudden lash and spring from Mother sent him jumping back, now new fear had replaced his curiosity as he watched Mother tear the cat like they were nothing but grass underpaw or a snowflake- melting as soon as they touched her. Watching the cats distant face contort and their fur- soaked in a red he couldn’t look away from- calling for cats he didn’t know. He wondered if they were always so noisy, maybe it was for show? Mother seemed to bark the command. “Eat it.” For a moment TickKit couldn’t find the energy to shuffle forward- but the glare of Mother’s eyes were enough to excuse his lack of effort and buck him right toward the scrap- fresh from the cat.

TickKit leaned down biting into the treat, with a harsh swallow his stomach felt infinitely emptier. Only then did he realise how hungry he was as he chomped it all down. Every last scrap. Taking a shaky moment to process what he’d done no longer blinded by hunger for just a moment- he watched Mother move the limp body closer and his nose wrinkled at the reek of blood and lingering fear scent. Biting, tearing, he bit and swallowed lead by his stomach alone. He hadn’t even a moment to process what was being eaten. Mother was also eating- but she had a glaze of pride in her eyes. Trick of the light or not a smile crept onto his face, grin, anything of the sort. He lifted his chin slightly. It all felt so wrong- like somecat was tugging on his actions and yet everytime he stopped his stomach felt more and more like a pit.
By the time Mother and him had finished it looked more brutal than it had been, Mother had been silent ever since the trek there and it remained that way as they abandoned the body so that it lay on the river cats side of the boundary, coated in mud and blood. TickKit blinked slowly and felt unsure- was he meant to feel sad for the cat? Was he meant to want more. He was sure Mother would answer the questions after he boasted how he got the first hunt to Rose Kit.

[ much lazier post anyone who has been told they can via vms before the finishing of my posting in this thread can find the body if they wish^^]
