It was a miracle she'd fallen asleep. Rest had seemed to slip through her grasp ever since...the incident. Was it an incident? It didn't seem so. Murder? ...The concept appeared so foreign to Nightgaze. Yes, she had attempted it before but she never saw it as murdering, she was just looking out for her clan right? Surely those cats were terrible anyways...Fawnpaw wasn't.

Of course, these were simply thoughts that swirled absently in the warrior's head like a stray piece of seaweed in a whirlpool. They were small and hardly noticeable. Did they matter? That was another unimportant question...or was it important? They kept coming, always whispering, always there but barely apparent. Never stopping. Was this what life was going to be like now without Fawn? Was she always going to be questioning the world?

She swayed feebly in the breeze, caught in one of her now usual dazes. Wait, breeze? There shouldn't be a breeze. Confusion pulled her brain back to reality as it suddenly became very clear to her she was not in her nest. She was in a field...a very green one. Flowers decorates the landscape and a few trees were dotted about. And...it was night but stars seemed to make the strange place bright.

Where was she? One moment she was asleep, curled up in the warriors' den and now she was standing in this unknown place....she needed a moment to take this in. Brows furrowed in confusion as she surveyed the area it dawned on Nightgaze that this place was empty as far as she could tell. Just to be certain that there were no other beings present she shakily mewed out: "Hello...?"

Fawnpaw



Fawnpaw wandered around Starclan's territory, her eyes lost and wary. She'd been doing this for a while, trying to figure out why she was in Starclan. 'Windclan border. Wind clan border.' Fawnpaw thought, her paws leading her somewhere...Anywhere.

A voice startled her. The dead apprentice whipped her head around to the source, her teeth bared. But who Fawnpaw saw was someone she thought she'd never see again. "Nightgaze!!" Fawnpaw cried out before bounding over to her pastmentor. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes as her paws crashed on the ground while she ran.

Flinching as her name as cried out in response to her unsettled mew, a prick of fear struck Nightgaze for a moment before being replaced by pure disbelief. That voice...it sounded so familiar... she knew that voice...it couldn't...be could it? Had she imagined it? Was this some cruel trick of her mind, playing with her aching heart?

But as she slowly turned around all suspicions were forgotten. I-It wasn't fake...it was her..."Fawnpaw!" was the name that erupted in the form of joyful astonishment from her maw. Not wasting any time, the small she-cat bolted towards her former apprentice, using all her speed to reach her as if afraid the young cat might disappear in any moment.

The warrior leapt at Fawnpaw, forepaws wide in an attempt to embrace her in a large hug. Tears spilled out from her shocking green eyes and ran down her cheeks as she purred loudly. Nightgaze had longed to see the cat she saw as a little sister ever since her untimely death and now...they were reunited by some unlikely luck. Her heart healed ever so slightly at the sight of Fawn and nothing else occupied her mind.

"I-I missed you, Fawn! I can't believe you...died." Night sobbed as she aimed to cover her deceased aprentice in a army of affectionate licks and nuzzles. Fawnpaw had never seemed dead to her...not really, but still her absence hurt more than claws across her pelt. A happy yet sorrowful smile tugging at her lips, Nightgaze continued to cry as she clasped her apprentice in a tight hug.

(Guess you could say...she's been very dead, eh? *Bad dum tss* :'3)

Fawnpaw



Fawnpaw cried out in joy as Nightgaze bounded toward her, tackling her in the process. The tears spilled out of her eyes as Nightgaze cried, her throat swollen with sobs. Fawnpaw lay on her back under Nightgaze, loud purrs erupting from her. "I- I missed you too! I missed you so much!" She cried out before Nightgaze showered her with nuzzled and licks. It felt nice to have someone to hug again...Fawnpaw had avoided any spirit near. Starclan and Dark Forest residents.


"I thought I'd never see you again!" Fawnpaw said with a sniffle, nuzzling Nightgaze with loud purrs.
