During her free time, Primroseadder had been thinking about how leaf-bare was on its way. Even during leaf-fall and its chill, land prey had been going underground. Besides, the young she-cat had been spotting some frosts on the undergrowth on her morning walks. Emerald hues narrowing down to slits, Primroseadder leapt atop of a flat rock and called out to her Clanmates.

''RiverClan!'' She called out, sitting back on her haunches and wrapping her tail around her paws. ''As you all know, leaf-bare is on the way. Leaf-fall has had its chills that have driven land prey underground, forcing us to use the rivers in our territory as our primary resource. But, when leaf-bare hits, I would not put it past the cold weather to cause the rivers to freeze over. I have been thinking deeply about this, and I have decided that I am going to start a hunting competition to start preparing for the harsher cold. Warriors and apprentices are welcome to participate. Kits, I cannot allow you to do so, as one - you're too young, and two - your mothers would never forgive me if something happened to you.'' And neither would Stormstar. Primroseadder left that last sentence unsaid.

''Any warriors and apprentices willing to participate, come and gather beneath this flat rock that I stand upon. Once everyone that wants to gathers, I will announce the rules and prizes.''

HOW THIS WORKS:
1. Warriors and Apprentices are to gather beneath the rock Primroseadder is standing on.
2. When everyone that wants to participate has gathered, Primroseadder will announce the rules and prizes.
3. If any cat is caught cheating / steals another's prey / etc., Primroseadder will disqualify them from the competition and send them straight to Stormstar and / or Owltalon.
4. CERTAIN PURRKS (Heightened Perception, Kitty Softpaws Tiers 1 + 2, Ultimate Predator, Go with the Flow, etc.) have their advantages and disadvantages. I will announce them in my next post.

Hunting event. Why was it that warriors of this clan couldn’t just do their jobs without incentive. Sure, Seabreeze was one to talk with his past inactivity, but at least he acknowledges it, and also it was because he literally didn’t want to wake up tomorrow, not because he just didn’t feel up to doing something without being rewarded for it like a kitten. Honestly.

Though he approached, if only because he saw Rowanmane, and wished to speak to the tom. He… didn’t mind the lionheart’s company even though they haven’t interacted a whole lot. It was unfortunate that Seabreeze never got to work with him as a lionheart. Stormstar made a good call- Oh wait, he should gather Leafpaw up, this would be a great learning opportunity.

The grey-blue tom padded to the apprentice den, and poked his head into the space. “Leafpaw, there’s an event I want you to participate in, meet me outside.” Then after a moment, just in case the apprentice wanted to speak, Seabreeze walked back and took a seat next to Rowanmane like he had originally planned to do. Hopefully Leafpaw got up. The little apprentice didn’t seem too much of a trouble maker, but honestly he’s learned not to have high hopes for his apprentices as sad as that was.

“I’ve never been too sure about events like this. I fear that we’ll overhunt and after this prey is eaten or goes bad, there’ll be nothing left at all. But perhaps that’s simply paranoia.” The former lionheart spoke pessimistically, it was probably the only thing he’ll ever be consistently, pessimistic. His blue eyes moved to Rowanmane, “I sure as hell hope it doesn’t get cold enough to fully freeze the river, I’d probably be frozen through at that point.” He added with a playful tone, feeling slightly bad for just suddenly starting conversation on such a solemn note when he was supposed to be having a casual conversation.

Heeeeeyy! Hunting! Nice!! Something fun 'n' useful to do, PLUS it benefits the Clan! There could not be anything better than some nice hunting at a freezing temperature. Where there was barely any prey out. Just perfect.

With a huff of amusement, Shadowpaw padded towards the newly made warrior and sat, instantly curling her long tail around her body.
