The roleplay you are about to see is a flashback from leopardkit and lightningpaw's kithood.

I dabbled around the nursery, angsty for Cherrycrest. Alas, he was nowhere in sight. I whipped my head around, tail twitching while i looked for a playmate. Maybe that lightningkit kit?

Lightningkit was in the clearing scuffling with a ball of moss he found. He had already gotten the signature lightning scar on his flank that gave him his name. He was one of the few cats to have a complete name change first starting out with the name Gorsekit but after a Minks got ahold of him from the nursery and wounded his flant in the shape of a Lightningbolt he was renamed Lightningkit. Lightningkit had orange tabby fur, he was small, and lithe making him fast and light on his feet but not all that powerful. Perfect for chasing down rabbits and other fast prey.

I peeked outside to see Gorse- no, Lightningkit. I picked up a nearby ball of moss and chucked it at his head before ducking back in and backing up to leap on him when he came in.

My rosetted fur rustled with the breeze as I excitedly wiggled my bottom and twitched my tail as I waited to leap at lightningkit.

Lightningkit saw the moss be tossed toward him he would turn his attention towards it and run toward it pawing at it with outstretched paws throwing it into the air while he let out a mrrrow of playful laughter.

My tail twitched playfully as I angled and "calulated" (whatever that meant) my strike.. then LEAPT- tackling Lightningkit! "Haha! I'm leopardkit and I caught you!" I cried playfully.

Lightningkit would writhe around to aim to buffet his hind paws sheathed mind you at Leopardkit's underbelly before aiming a playful bite at her ear. "Hey get off me you heavy furball!" Lightningkit joked

Lightningkit's tail would twitch with a bit of fear as his fur fluffed up at the memory. "You don't know? Minks is what happened. They found their way into the nursery one night and took off with me when I was much younger and still defenseless. A patrol caught the Minks that had me and stopped it from killing me. Though not before I had gotten injured. Though the injury healed it left this scar on my flank. And I was renamed Lightningkit due to the resulting scar. But tbh I don't mind I find it a cool name. Nothing is faster than Lightning and therefore I find it a fitting name!" Lightningkit explained to Leopardkit. Sitting down to lick his paw before smoothing it over his fluffed up fur to lie it back down.

A few nights later, the wind whistled and I looked around. All my denmates were sleeping. I checked twice, and made my move as I slunk out of the den.

Into the dark night I went, my head screaming no..

the next day (third person POV)

The sun crept through the nursery and kits stirred as a familar tom's sobbing through the den. Outside, the leader + deputy were stationed, discussing if they should send out search patrols.

The tom was Cherrycrest- leopardkit's father. He sat and sobbed more when the leader poked her head in and said they'd found "her" blood on a small rocky hill outside camp that lead to outsiders and smelled of rouge.

Lightningkit was sad at the news that would soon spread amongst the clearing. He had heard that Leopardkit had gone missing and that blood was even found. Going so far as to call off the search fearing the worse after the blood was found. Moons past and Lightningkit grew and later became an Apprentice being named Lightningpaw.
