Tall pines gazed over them as they walked - beyond these pines, sat a green clearing. Further within this clearing, sat a small have: the grotto. "This is the Evergreen Grotto - full of herbs. Also rats and mice!" she explained. "Any questions, let me know! Otherwise, let's move on."

Lightningkit had no questions, his eyes shone with admiration for finally seeing the outside of camp for the first time, but also a sense of anxiety in worry he might get lost. They didn’t want to put him off it. “It’s nice, to be part of something.” They explained, “To help the Clan get by.” That was true, they enjoyed their duties, or maybe they enjoyed knowing they were helpful? They padded along, leading the apprentice to the next stop - The Dawning Woods, where the trees towered over them. ”This is The Dawning Woods. It wasn’t too long ago when we claimed them. Another place full of rodents, maybe the odd bird.”

The apprentice paused as he mewed " I don't like fighting but I will do it to protect the clan!" the tom purred happily "Though I'm not sure if I will do well I mean.." he sighed " I didn't make a lot of friends when I was a kit. maybe the occasional conversation or two. but... I was always so nervous about socializing I know nothing about the other apprentices besides their names." he huffed. As he's told more about the territory his eyes light up " Oh! So a place to catch tiny rodents!" he mews. the tom mimicked a pounce slightly stumbling on his paws. with an embarrassed smile from almost falling he mews again "The territory is so much bigger than camp."

They were surprised to hear that Lightningpaw hadn't made many friends - he seemed the sociable type to them. "Well, it can take time, but it's worth it!" they smiled. "Yep, lots of rodents. Though, some rats are bigger than you might expect! And yes, the territory's looots bigger," they laughed, before dropping into a hunter's crouch. "If you wanna avoid stumbling, you can crouch like this," she demonstrated, body low to the ground, tail out the way of their paws. "Then use your back legs to propel forwards," they pounced forward - it was a decent pounce, nothing remarkable, but well executed.

Lightningpaw watched his mentor intently before crouching down. he wasn't sure how well he would do at things like this. But he has to be a warrior. so the tom followed the steps, he dropped to a semi-odd crouch before positioning his paws relatively the same as his mentor's. before moving his tail out of the way. his tail lashes before he proceeds to pounce. he landed a little oddly but he didn't fall just shook his paw a bit " wow that's easier to move with, it hurts your paw if you land wrong though."he mews.

"When you're actually stalking prey, you wanna keep your tail nice and still - you don't want 'em hearing you!" they noted, tone soft. "Let's head to the next place for now," they began to pad along, heading for the mourning ruins.

The tom mews happily as he nods " so when crouching don't move the tail! ok!" he spoke , keeping this in mind as he followed his mentor looking at the mourning ruins as he looked around " why did it get burned..?" he asked curiously.

They hated to disappoint, but the tale left much to be desired. "No one knows," they shrugged, "maybe the sun hit it wrong, or perhaps it was some kind of twoleg activity." She sighed, as they padded along. Their next stop would be the Darkwater Mire. The ground became softer as they approached, soon turning wet like mud. They stopped by the edge of the bog, gazing out. "This is the Darkwater Mire," they proclaimed. "Here you'll mostly find frogs, and the occasional snake." Snakes weren't often a problem for grown cats, but having a young apprentice around here did make her worry. "As long as you're with a warrior, snakes aren't much to worry about. Just keep your wits about you. C'mon, let's get out of here." They turned.
