Notice Regarding Content Theft

After the recent culmination of re-uploading and theft of art, the staff of WCO would like to issue a reminder about art theft and re-uploading artwork without providing proper credit.

Per our Site Guidelines, Warrior Cats Online takes art theft seriously. Unless the artist has specified otherwise, generally do not use or claim artwork that is not made by you or made for you. If you are unable to credit the artist or photographer, avoid using the images in question.

As a result, we are giving members until April 7th, 11:59pm Eastern Time, to delete any images that were not personally created by them or for them, or have been re-uploaded without proper credit to the original artist (so long as it is stated they are able to be used).

Once the date passes, if even one instance of art theft or unauthorized art re-uploading is seen, the member will have all images in their albums removed and an infraction will be placed onto the account.

In addition to art theft, we would also like to touch on the use of uncredited photography. We strongly encourage members to refrain from uploading pictures that are not their own and instead ask you to utilize sites such as Pexels, Flickr, and Unsplash; these sites host free-use photography and generally do not require credit or link-backs.

If, however, a photographer contacts us asking for their image(s) to be removed, we will send the reuploader a warning and a date to remove the image(s) by; if they have not been removed by this date, we will remove the image(s) ourselves and issue an account infraction.
