Stars alive. Crowtooth had gotten back from the fire fighting, and Hawkfur and him looked worse for wear than she could ever have anticipated. If her eyes weren't fooling her, there was a mild limp on Dapplebreeze's every step as well, her face a far to emotionless mask to be natural after what they had just gone through. If she had to guess, the fury would ignore her injuries until either commanded to tend to them or until everyone else was done. Aggravating, but understandable. Her injuries were nothing compared to the horrid breathing on the deputy and the scorched leg on her friend.

"Alright you lot! You heard the boss! Anyone who's injured, stand by the base of the Galewood. It will be easier to assess the gravity of your wounds above ground. Anyone who tries to hide their injuries, make sure they are light, because if I find out I'll give you some scratch marks on those ears that will make you think twice before pulling that crap again, do we have an understanding? Good. Then haul your arses over here so we can get you back to almost good as new."

Despite the crudeness of her words, Lightningstorm's eyes shimmered with mischief, her voice teasing as usual. The last thing the injured cats needed was someone worrying them even further about how horrible their injuries were before they were even tended to. This way, she would either amuse them or annoy them. Regardless, it would hopefully distract them from the pain of their burn. Especially while her and Rabbitpaw got the herbs they required to treat them. She would keep him close for this batch of patients. It would do him some good to learn about which herbs were best for treating burns first paw. It was always best if the knowledge was never needed again... but considering how familiar this all was to her, she doubted things would be so easy for him. Chaos like this was just the way of the clans.

Erased this the first time... second time's the charm though, right?

This event is for everyone who got burned during the fire fighting event, so that they can receive some tending to by the ever loving duo Lightningstorm and Rabbitpaw. Tender care and precious moments guaranteed in the form of teasing and potential stinging from herbs.

If you have injuries completely unrelated to the event, please make sure to use the WindClan Healing thread as usual, as other illnesses or injuries will not be tended to here!

Daffodilpaw was relieved things seemed to be over. Her nose was still twitching from the scent of smoke, and she let out another round of soft coughs that she tried to stifle. She wasn't originally planning on seeking medical attention for the cough, assuming that it was from the scent of the smoke more than it was from smoke inhalation, but she didn't want her ears to get clawed! The pale yellow she-cat leapt to paws, coughing a little as she did so from the sudden motion, and walked over to where cats were instructed to gather. She sat some ways back still, laying her tail neatly around her. She wanted her clanmates with more serious issues to be seen before her, still confident she didn't have any serious need of medical attention, but she wasn't a medicine cat so what did she really know? She had never been so close to a fire before.

Besides, she knew that she'd have her ears clawed by Bouncepaw and her parents verbally if she went back to the nest that evening coughing without having seen Lightningstorm.

Having (gently) deposited Hawkfur at Lightningstorms paws the deputy was confident that the burned fury was first on the list to be healed but besides potentially Duckfeather the tom had no clue if anyone else needed help urgently. Actually Duckfeather was next on the list, Crowtooth gently hauling the molly over and laying her down in some moss, alerting the medicine cat to her.
"Once ya got Hawkfur Duckfeather is breathin' rather concernin'." Honestly Crowtooth wasnt one to talk, wheezing and coughing occasionally as he was but he wasnt gonna stop until Lightningstorm stopped him to check him over. He wasnt in a bad state however, so there was that at least.

"Alright Whiterabbit, Leechscar, Bouncepaw, Whisperinghive, Lightningpaw, Ashcloud, Vinepaw, Birchpaw, Deadmoon, Warmsun, Lichenpaw, Batglare, Silverrose, an' Scorpiansight all o' ya'll better speak up if ya got an injury.

Even if ya think yer fine please do stick around though, I'd like it if everyone at least got looked over before ya head off ta rest, just in case."
Who knows if some hidden danger of the fire was still lurking in the cats bodies, fire was a force so unknown to cats after all.

Heat stroke - dizzyness, confusion, foggy thinking, nausea, passing out
Burns - minor to major
Eye strain - due to heat and smoke eyes can become fogged, aching, painful and/or too dry

All in the very slow blink of her watery, irritated eyes was the deputy suddenly looking her over. She was fine- at least to her knowledge. Her paws felt a bit puffy and were burning. Oh and he lungs- if felt as she inhaled the smoke it curled around her lungs and had been squeezing and restricting them. That was exhausting the warrior. So smoke—definitely smoke. She shook her head to the deputy as he instructed to indicate so.

Hopefully she didn’t look…too bad? But she probably did. She had little white ashes covering her pelt which was even dirtier thanks to the smoke (yes- the smoke just hates her). Her head was hung low, craning towards the ground as if her dry throat had been waiting for water to simply spawn. Yes- yes she was thirsty. Perhaps that would help her feel better? The more she waited, the hazier her own thoughts became.

She was grateful for the deputy’s assistance to get her to the healing area, honestly if she tried she would’ve collapsed in the first few steps. The smoke was really irritating, she just wanted it out her lungs. Gone, gone GONE. She believed it was the smoke causing her to feel some pit in her stomach. It sucked. She did her best to give the deputy a grateful look and muster a nod before lying her head on the ground weakly.

Oh no- what if DewFawn saw her? In this state? He’d never let her live it down! But there wasn’t much she could do, unless she could take it like a champ and hold her head high and confidently…which she doubted was in her current list of abilities.

Injury Overview: Large burn over his rear right thigh and haunches. Not incredibly severe, but has gone without water and is looking rather nasty at this point. He is also coughing a little--his scarred throat is acting up due to the smoke.

When had he ended up on Crowtooth's back? Ugh, he looked like a ridiculous kit! But each time he tried to wriggle down so he could walk himself, Dapplebreeze and Crowtooth were right there to snap at him to hold still. Eventually the Fury's exhaustion took hold and he let himself be carried back home.

Lightningstorm and Rabbitpaw were already preparing by the time the fire fighters arrived, and Hawkfur was deposited gently in a moss nest. He grunted a thanks to Crowtooth, giving Lightningstorm a tired, but still somewhat cheeky grin as she approached. "'S not that bad, but sure feels it." He did his best to stretch out his back right leg, wincing at the strain. This was the first time he got a good look at the burn, and whoo boy. Some of his red striped fur had been completely burned away, other tufts blackened by smoke. The skin was red and throbbing, blisters already forming. He groaned, letting his head fall back onto the nest. "I just had to play hero, didn't I?" The self-deprecating words were hinted with amusement, however strained. A deep breath had him choking, the scent of smoke stuck in his throat and caking his mouth. Yeuch.

Clearly, Lichenpaw had gotten off pretty good from the fires, though with a quick glance at some of the others, she sees just how lucky she really had been. Hawkfur for example... Lichenpaw was pretty okay, though. Just a little irritation in her eyes.

The old tom padded toward Lightningstorm and disposed of Leechscar in a nearby nest. He felt fine besides his throat and the occasional cough, Batglare didn't see any point in wasting Lightningstorm's time. But he'd stick around as he would prefer not to have his ears shredded if she deemed his ailment worse than he thought.

He'd remain stationed near Leechscar while observing the molly work on Hawkfur, but Dapplebreeze's pelt caught his eye. He gave Leechscar a warning snarl to stay put before he got up and padded over to check on the molly. "Okay?"He asked swallowing a small cough while he looked her over.

The brown and white warrior didn't want her to think him nosy, but her expression was rather stiff. Batglare was born with his ugly mug stuck in one dour expression, the molly wasn't like him. The tom found he wasn't crazy about her face being stuck in such a blank expression. He leaned in to give Dapplebreeze a tentative sniff, but he doubted he'd smell anything but smoke for the next few days.

"I'm fine." Bouncepaw coughs out smoke and dust from his lungs. "Just tired." He glances down at his paws, which are bruised and sore from all the intense digging he'd done. They are also covered with dirt, so it's difficult to see the extent of the damage that has been done. They stung a lot, but Bouncepaw didn't remember being injured. It must have been the adhrenaline rushing through him that made him forget. Maybe he could get some help with the stinging?

"Or so I think I'm fine." Bouncepaw meows as an afterthought, "Do you have anything for aching paws?"

Before Rabbitpaw could react, the medicine cat was entering her den, directing herself to the herbal storage. She'd been able to bring out a few herbs prior to the patrols arriving, but hearing Daffodilpaw's weak cough had made her realize that maybe strong, rare herbs would not be required for every single patient. In fact, if it hadn't been for the fact that it might be better to be safe than sorry, she would have sent the apprentice to go rest without another word. Her cough was to be expected after the fire, but there seemed to be no damage to the lungs. A soothing drink of water and honey would be all that was necessary to calm that coughing while her breathing evened out naturally after a good rest.

Exiting her underground lair with a sopping ball of moss in her maw, the sweetness of the honey tickled her tongue as she placed it before the pale apprentice, licking her whiskers as she washed away the pleasant flavor. "You seem to be doing better than most, love. Normally I would take care of the others first, but I want you gone and resting. The sooner the better. Have a drink of this first, though. Some honey water will be good to give you a little strength and ease your throat. And even better, it tastes bloody good, dunnit? Of course, I could give you some dandelion to chew on instead, but this is much better for what ails ya... and much tastier. Go on then, drink up. And off to your nest for a good sleep afterwards."

| Due to the lack of form on this post, I am assuming this is a mere check up because she is - understandably - coughing after the smoke inhalation but with no real issues sprouting from it, so I'm having Lightningstorm give her something to soothe her throat and give her a bit of a pep before she goes for a rest. There is no need to respond to this, as she is considered treated, so no worries!

After her little spat with Whisperinghive (stars above she hoped he was feeling well enough not to need checked out be Lightningstorm not this minute), Deadmoon did her level best to distract herself with getting her paws seen to. They were stinging something fierce. She didn't know what exactly had happened to them, she hadn't really stepped on any fire or anything, but the dead, scorched remains of the fire might have been spitefully able to inflict a final bit of damage on her. And, actually, she was realizing that she was doing a lot of squinting. Big eww. But....like....she was kind of stuck like that. So she went to Lightningstorm, and began to lament. My eyes are all.....stingy. she groused, a bit kitlike. Like Owlkit, as a youngin. And my paws feel a bit tender. Not delightful, but she imagined Lightningstorm would be able to patch her up a bit.
