We have noticed an increase in the posting of AI-generated images on our site and would like to offer a friendly reminder that we currently do not allow AI-generated artwork to be used on-site.
AI-generated works are produced by computer algorithms that have analyzed thousands of images available on the web, often including hand-drawn artwork. It does this sometimes with and sometimes without prior authorization from the original artist. Consequently, AI-generated artwork in its present state is a computer-generated imitation of existing work, which amounts to art theft. At WCO, we take a strong stance against art theft and strive to create a safe environment for artists.
AI-generated images will be removed from our site, and any member posting said images is at risk of losing permissions to utilize albums and image-uploading features. We are giving members until
July 30th, 11:59pm Eastern Time, to remove any AI-generated images present in profiles; members who have remaining images may be subject to the above.
