[Closed] Reincarnation Explanation

So, I’ve been thinking lately about something and I haven’t really found any answers by looking up stuff about canon reincarnation in Warriors, though WCO does things a little differently than canon, so maybe it was a stupid choice anyway, but… how does reincarnation exactly work in this world? When I regard reincarnation, I think of the Cinderpelt/Cinderheart situation, but it may be done differently here. Does the character being reincarnated share a body with the soul of another cat? Or is it basically the reincarnated cat getting another body? I ask this because I was wondering earlier… if a reincarnated cat was originally in Starclan and then they do bad things in their "next" life… would that original reincarnated cat go to the dark forest? Or would the soul of the cat they reincarnated as go to the dark forest and the original reincarnated cat go back to Starclan? I know this is a lot and I’m sorry for that, I’m just trying to understand for future reference. I know there's most likely a very simple answer to this and I just kinda made it sound super duper complicated.

Their soul goes into a new body! Once a deceased cat has been reincarnated their old life just won't be there anymore because their soul is fully merged into their new body. So for example if there was a cat in StarClan and they were reincarnated, the version of them in StarClan wouldn't coexist with their reincarnated life -- there would only be them reincarnated. They would go to the Dark Forest as themselves in their new life @masquerade

Reincarnation is the spirit becoming a new cat. I like to think of it as being 'reforged' in a way: a new form your spirit takes, with the potential to reclaim parts of your past life but the opportunity for a clean slate. It doesn't create a second spirit, it just recycles the old.

Jay's Wing/Jayfeather, Lion's Roar/Lionblaze, and Dove's Wing/Dovewing are examples of true reincarnations in the books. The character's memory starts out 'wiped', but you can have them recollect things through roleplayed experiences. This is especially handy if you want to keep herb knowledge, battle skills, etc.

If a reincarnation did evil things, they'd go to the Dark Forest regardless of their previous life. Lionstorm, one of RC's former leaders, was a reincarnation of a Dark Forest spirit who was able to go to StarClan with some limitations due to his actions at the end of his life.
