Willowpaw woke up. It was early. Ever since she had got her new mentor, she had been excited to start training. She took a stretch and then slipped out of the apprentice den, making sure not to step on anyone. The apprentice silently went to the warriors den to find her Mentor. She spotted them and went over. "Hello." She whispered. "Are we ready to start training?" @Mica (uhh idk if I did this right. If not, please tell me if I missed something!)

He hadn't slept well. Spring's return had filled the young tom with an angry, buzzing energy like someone had filled his body with bees and shaken him up for good measure. So when the Little Rat he had been assigned to mentor poked her head into the warrior's den, the abyssinian's claws slid out into his moss nest, sinking into the softness with ease. Stars above, it was like the entire world was taunting him. But Bumblestar was liable to kick his ass if he didn't train the Rat, so he was in a bind. Duckfrond slowly pushed himself to his paws, padding out of the warrior's den and jerking his head for Willowpaw to follow.

Heading out of camp, Duckfrond didn't bother to keep his irritation out of his motions and voice. "We're gonna start with hunting. Listen up, 'cause if you think I'm repeating myself, fuggetaboutit." The russet warrior then stretched, readying himself for a long day of things that were going to piss him off. "First thing you wanna know is the crouch. Keep your paws at shoulder and haunches width--any closer together and you're fallin' flat on your face." Haha, maybe that woulda been funny to watch. But Duckfrond, as irritable and callous as he was, wasn't a jackass. ... Okay maybe not a jackass to children. He wasn't about to beef with a toddler. "If you got a tail--" He glanced at the Rat, noting she did, "keep it straight behind you. Don't lift it up, 'cause then you're wearin' a sign that says 'hey! Lookit me! I'm stalkin' you and you now have the chance to run away!'" His voice lifted a bit higher, his accent making him sound rather ridiculous. In the twoleg's world, they would say he sounded awfully like the kinda guy who'd wear leather jackets and use a ridiculous amount of gel in his hair. Duckfrond then lowered himself down to demonstrate, keeping his paws separated and his belly low to the ground, but not low enough to brush against it. "Chop chop, pal, you try."

This mentor was a little... rude? Or, was that an understatement? Willowpaw didn't care. She was used to cats acting all rude like this. The apprentice walked beside her Mentor when he started to go. Hunting! She had always wanted to do hunting. She nodded at what Duckfrond told her to do. Willow listened and followed the instructions given to her. She did exactly what he said. Paws at shoulder and haunches width. Well, almost width. She almost fell but caught herself just in time. She was embarrassed. How do you mess up infront of your mentor? She then made her haunches width. She kept her tail straight behind her as Duckfrond said she needed to do. She followed what he did, lowering her belly to the ground. @Mica [lol. I love him so much.
