This morning, Newtbelly was practically cursing himself for separating Stempaw and Silentpaw's territory tours. He was happy to do it twice, but it wasn't exactly ideal. He'd take a different route this time at least, switch it up. The tom found himself awake early again - best to go with the same approach for both apprentices, he realised treating the two differently could get out of paw quickly, if one thought the other was having an easier time, or getting better training. Once again, he visited the apprentice den. Seemed he was popping his head in here all the time. "Morning Stempaw," he gave the apprentice a poke with his paw, "time for training," he mumbled, volume low as not to disturb the sleeping paws, before leaving quickly - he didn't like to stay in the den long. Now, he'd wait. The structure he'd used with Silentpaw seemed to work just fine - a territory tour, then hunting. Maybe they'd stop somewhere different though, if Stempaw didn't mind the mire, maybe they could spy out a frog or two?
Stempaw was already awake when Newtbelly came to retrieve him, trying to get a stubborn burr out of his pale yellow pelt. His ears swiveled when he heard his name, his head lifted sharply when he recognized the voice of his mentor, the burr stuck on his tongue. Stempaw winced in pain when the burr was ripped out of his pelt, his eyes becoming moist from the pain. He kept trying to spit the burr of fur off but it was stuck, so he ended up having to use his paws to swipe it off. "Ugh that was stupid..." He grumbled, getting to his paws and shaking out his coat.
He quickly slipped out of the apprentice's den, embarrassed to high stars over what just happened. But he refused to let something like that slow him down, he was too excited to start his training! This was too important! And he was too proud to turn and lick the spot at his flank that was now pulsing with pain. He looked to his mentor, eyes bright with excitement and whiskers twitching. "Well? Let's get going!" He meowed, bounding forward a few steps and looking back at Newtbelly impatiently.

Stempaw was enthusiastic, but maybe a bit boisterous for his taste - he got the feeling he might just be a pawful. Well, it wasn't like he hadn't been one of those for his own mentor - surely this would be fine. He trailed past Stempaw to the camp exit, "glad you're eager," he commented, "we're gonna do a quick territory tour, and get some hunting done in the middle, that sound good?" Maybe they should start at the Grotto, then touch on borders, then hunt? No, Stempaw seemed too energetic for that, he didn't want to lead a restless apprentice round the territory for ages. Then, maybe he should follow a similar structure to yesterday's training, with Silentpaw? That seemed reliable enough. Grotto, Ruins, Mire (hunting), borders? He'd better check what Stempaw thought of hunting round the mire, though. But that was a question for later. He exited the camp, tail beckoning for Stempaw to follow.
Stempaw honestly didn't care what order did things in, he was just thrilled to be doing stuff! "Sure! That's fine with me!" He mewed, bounding after his mentor. "Which border are we seeing first?" In his excitement, he almost forget to be an annoying scruffy furball. It wasn't like that was what Stempaw set out to be, he just said what he was feeling. It was like he wasn't able to filter his emotions.
