covepaw sat with his scruffy tail right over his nose. He was about to get up, or so he told himself. one more moment, just one more. This went on until he finally did get up. His eyes widened as he saw the suns light creeping into the den. He grumbled and padded out of the den.

Cascadepaw slunk into the apprentices' den with an irritated snarl on her face. She slipped into her nest and sulked, closing her blue eyes.
Orchidpaw was annoyed as she usually was. She was always filled with contempt and for a good reason too, her Pa had told her that she was better than the other kits and so she should behave better, so she did. That was a valid excuse right? No, it wasn't an excuse it was a right. A birthright. She didn't know why but her Pa told her so it must be true.
Though, obviously, for this privilege to be respected by others they had to be aware of it and Orchid was the type to demonstrate through fear and power. So here she was, laying in wait, settled in her nest, patiently awaiting for a victim to come along so she could establish her superiority, by means of claws or words.

Cascadepaw made her way into the apprentices' den from outside in the clearing. Shaking out her pelt and careful not to step on her denmates, the pretty apprentice picked her way through the nests until she reached her own in the back.

There's not enough time in the day for all Wren wants to do. She's tired almost all the time, her brain is constantly fried from thinking of nothing but train, eat, sleep, train, eat sleep, train, eat, sleep, over and over and over. Other apprentices don't seem as determined to graduate. Well, maybe Adderpaw does, but don't the others have any drive to get better at all? It's like they don't care they they're pretty much at war with WindClan and ThunderClan! Do they not have any desire to fight back?
'Bite back, Wren,' a voice in her head that's eerily similar to her father's tells her. 'Show them how arrogant they are for thinking things will just be handed to them!'
"No," she growls under her breath, trying to dispel the voice. No, she will not do as he says. She won't. 'Why not, songbird? You're just like me, embrace it!'"Shut up!" she mumbles again. She is nothing like him. She will never be anything like him. He fought because it was fun. He fought because he loved the taste of blood. Wren fights for her clan's honor, for the place she calls home. For a better future.
'Delusions upon delusions...' the voice like her father's coos, silky smooth. Wren covers her ears with her paws, curling into her nest and trying to shut the voice out.
Grimpaw grouchily stormed into the apprentice's den and curled up on his nest, now sobbing into his pelt from both built up emotion and the fact he couldn't help but feel scared by everything he himself had said. He felt so angry, so stressed, so... so worried. What was Fadingsun going to do because of him? Was that too impulsive? Couldn't he have asked to speak to Fadingsun later?! Stars damn it, Grimpaw! Pull yourself together! You took a damn hit for your deputy, you'll be fine. And she will be too... hopefully...
He shook his head softly and just stayed there for a while, eventually falling asleep.

Salmonleap tiptoed in. He really had no business here, but he wanted to find Grimpaw. "Grimpaw?" he asked gently, shaking the apprentice. What was Salmonleap even doing here, really? He'd just hurt the apprentice's feelings.

"Who..? Oh, hello." Grimpaw had been woken up and looked around in confusion before he finally spotted a warrior trying to talk to him.

"Sorry to intrude.. but I had to ask, are you okay? You looked upset right after you said that." Salmonleap sat down awkwardly. He really wanted to be friendly, but he wasn't sure he was doing a good job.
