A harder lesson to teach was the art of climbing the trees; also a lesson often taught by Hawkbite, but the youngest of the enforcers had found a certain ease of movement after the initial lessons. But with an odd number youngins to teach (who was she kidding, some may be barely younger than her), Sleepysunrise had made the executive decision to take Rookfire with her, currently leading the group through the territory with the hopes that the latter was bringing up the rear. Considering she had played guard at his swimming lesson (and with her larger frame), she saw no issue in the other enforcer serving as an extra pair of eyes and cushion to break any falls. Besides, perhaps Rookfire could practice his own climbing later on, he had appeared a little shaky the last time. She wasn’t sure if she should try letting him up in the trees with the apprentices alone, in that regard… Well, they were going to be doing this one by one to begin with, anyway. They would see how the lesson unfolded.

Firepaw followed Sleepysunrises steps with a steady trot, keeping close to the warrior and admiring her sorroundings, taking in the scent of every inch of Shadowclan territory they padded across. Tree climbing, it was more of a Thunderclan-y skill by what she had heard, but there was no harm in learning it. Shadowclan also had plenty of trees (something had to give it its shade after all), and knowing how to make good use of them could proove very useful in the future, both for catching prey, avoiding danger... An for bird watching, which Firepaw admitts was the main reason she decided to take on this lesson. She could climb on a branch and sit right beside a bird if she was calm enough! Birds are such interesting little things. They dont have fur, their skin instead being protected by feathers, their bones are hollow to reduce their body weight and be able to fly better... And their wings! Oh dont let Firepaw get started on their wings! They have such intricate feather placements, and the birds use them to ride the wind with such precision that one might think that they were the one controling it!
But that would come later, now Firepaw needed to learn how to climb trees, and she was determined to do so, both for her future bird-watching endeavors and to make her field of knowledge as impresive as posible when time came for her to athempt her warrior assesment, and with both Sleepysunrise and Rookfire guiding the class, she was confident she was going to come out of the lesson an tree-climbing expert. The older apprentice quickened her pace to reach Sleepysunrise and started walking beside her "So, where are we heading right now?" Firepaw asked, maybe besides from learning a new skill, she could get to visit a new neat part of their territory!
Another lesson today~ Another lesson! His excitement was beyond him as he made his way with some sort of skip. Today's lesson...climbing trees! He'd never thought he'd get to do something as cool as this. Climbing trees meant he'd get to see the land from above. And possibly see further into the forest, and even take a peak at what's beyond ShadowClan territory. Of course, that was for the future. For today, it was climbing lessons.
There were so many trees around ShadowClan territory. Pine trees, cedar trees, and um...other trees? He'd shook his head. There must have been other trees, but he couldn't think of the name on the top of his head. He'd followed Sleepysunrise into the forest. And today, there was...another warrior. He looked quite familiar. He couldn't put a paw on who this mysterious cat was. His pale eyes gazed over the figure, trying to pinpoint it. 'Hmm...'
With a gasp, he bounded towards Rookfire. "It's you! The one that was talking to Nightshiver last time!"
"You are coming to climb with us?" Palepaw's eyes sparkled with curiousity. "Is Miss.Sleepysunrise teaching you too?"

regretfully questioning why and how he had ended up in this situation, now that he followed sleepysunrise and a group of apprentices towards whatever spot in the territory sleepy had in mind, rookfire sure as hell regretted ever agreeing. the last time he had been forced to climb further than a leap or so was his lesson with sleepysunrise and he still felt his bones vibrate just at the thought of it. to say he was anything less than queasy about going up there again would be an understatement, and having to ensure no apprentice die today wasnt really doing him any good either. perhaps he would be allowed to just stand guard at the base of the tree and try to catch any cat that slipped (however that would even work). at the very least, there only familiar faces, all apprentices he somewhat knew and thought he could estimate to a certain degree. for one firepaw who he had trained before, and palepaw who he had spoken to once or twice before. his roleplayer also assumes magppiepaw is the 3rd apprentice who he also knows a bit more than on a base level.
whilst rookfire hadnt really expected silence from this group of apprentices it was still a welcome surprise when palepaw rushed towards him joyously. "yep, comin' with you today." he confirmed with a nod, "sleepysunrise has already taught me how to climb a bit but i think im just here to make sure youre all safe this time. admitting he had to be taught something (by someone younger than him at that) was still far from his favourite thing to do, faint discomfort clouding around his throat at the words that left his maw, but coming to shadowclan older than a apprentice was supposed to be and as untrained as 7 moon old had helped to a certain degree (and then been destroyed by him becoming a enforcer straight up, once again making him feel like he was supposed to know everything out of nowhere). whatever he felt about admitting he had to be taught by someone, he knew he wasnt a good climber and that was a bit more important right now.
Magpiepaw was nearly positive this counted as an extra lesson, but she padded on anyways. If she wanted to be the best warrior she could be, why not go above and beyond? She still had one moon left to prove herself as something, something that wasn't just a burn out. She could make it to becoming a warrior without being SIXTEEN WHOLE MOONS. Something that seemed to be getting harder and harder and harder. Bleh, what joy, she was plenty good at what she did, it's just that nocat took the time use that potential.
She followed the enforcer through the forest with a straightened tail and a high head, her trot as prideful as her thoughts, which Spiderpaw snuck his way into, and she used it as motivation. No doubt he'd be a warrior soon, just like Gracklepaw would've been, and this time Magpiepaw actually wanted to be beside them. Gracklepaw disappeared, a hard pill to swallow, one that made her lightheaded, but Spiderpaw was still here. She'd have to make the most of it before he was carried away by a hawk or something stupid like that...
Distractions. She needed distractions. Palepaw was deathly optimistic, sounding much like--- That's enough, Magpiepaw reminded herself. Palepaw was chirpy, Rookfire seemed to be dreading his existence and Magpiepaw couldn't help but smile, teeth and all. at his drowsy mannerisms. Gee, if he hated this so much, why volunteer? "What a slug, devoid of wisdom." Magpiepaw quipped, though she didn't look at Rookfire as she spoke.

"Woow! So..so you're an expert already!" Palepaw responded with a gasp while looking up to Rookfire with glittering eyes. And then to Sleepysunrise who was leading them ahead. 'She must've been a really good teacher then!' That was an utterly non-related connection Palepaw had made up in his mind, but one that he hoped was true. And by the looks of it, she definitely was a good teacher. Palepaw took a deep breath, 'then that means I'll have no problems today.' He'll definitely be able to climb trees on his first try (no you won't pale). Or...at least my the end of the day...hopefully.
He shook his head to clear his mind. 'As long as I practice...one day. At least one day, I'll be able to climb a tree' He'd really hoped it would be today. But if not, then soon. "Keep us safe?"
"Oh...oh!" The idea suddenly struck his mind like a needle. Keep them safe...in case they ... fell. That brought a little fear into Palepaw and suddenly he could feel the cold again. Palepaw looked at the ground, a little worried, hoping it wouldn't have to come to that. 'But it's okay...it's gonna be okay! Cuz there's Miss. Sleepysunrise and Rookfire here!' As quick as the idea had struck him, it left soon after. As long as he followed instructions nothing would go wrong. He turned to Rookfire and nodded enthusiastically, "Okay! Then, I'm counting on you!"

rookfires remaining, white tipped ear twitched behind at magpiepaws words, taking his attention off palepaw momentarily. angular head turned behind as if simply checking what was going on, except sharp grey eyes immediately locked onto a certain two coloured, and ridiculously small apprentice and a unspecified negative emotion was visible in the non injured one. "speak up again and i'll show ya' what that tongue a' yours looks like outside yer' mouth, magpiepaw." rookfire calmly addressed the apprentice, uncaring who this about at all but strongly suspecting it mightve been him. no cat here could be rightfully addressed as a 'slug, devoid of wisdom' simply because palepaw was a child, sleepysunrise was the youngest and one of the most active enforcers, he would almost like to say he did the most out of most of the enforcers and had only trained in shadowclan for a month before earning that rank in the first place, simply another sign of magpiepaws less than pleasant personality! fabulous!.
he had actually never really gotten the impression that magpiepaw had any problem with him and had accepted her presence despite her oversized amount of confidence, but this changed some things. honestly, he shouldnt have been so accepting in the first place. she had been acting out of line since he arrived in shadowclan, specifically aimed at him as well, and if no one took care of this she'd grow into a overly confident annoying kit of a warrior. "if i'd wanted to deal with kits i wouldve gone n helped nightshiver instead'a here." he muttered, angular head turning back to the small mostly white apprentice he preferred to deal with a good lot more than magpiepaw. he was sweet and polite, rookfire had no problem with nice children. no no, he'd even go as far as say he actually liked palepaw despite being a small child. "no need ta' worry, lad, sleepysunrise's a good teacher" he assured the kid, letting his tail tap against the apprentices light fur briefly and chuckling at palepaws quick decision to simply trust rook with his life. "i'll do my best, 'promise"
