The Honey scent in the pitch black Night

Nightwhisper sighed, getting up from his nest. He missed Weepingwillow, and Cinderkit, and Snakepelt. All of them were gone. Cottonpaw to.... he only had two cats, his son Emberkit, and his daughter Honeypetal, maybe she'd want to hunt? Stretching gently he padded out of his den and found his beloved daughter, "Honeypetal. Wanna hunt......?" he asked his daughter, his eyes droopy with tiredness and sadness, he hoped spending some time with his kit might make him feel better.

StarClan knows the last time Honeypetal had slept, because she herself sure didn't. All she knew is that it had been a while. That didn't meant she cared—she would stay up forever until all the problems went away, although the truth was that they probably wouldn't.

He padded out of the Warriors' Den with a yawn, greeted by his father, who seemed sad and also tired. "Oh, hello Father," he meowed, dipping his head slightly. Emberpaw and Nightwhisper were the only family he had left, and Strawberryfur was the only true friend of his as well. There was Vinepaw, but they rarely talked outside of training. Honeypetal had been feeling lonely the past while and was surprised, though not upset that he happened to run into his father.

"Ah, I would love to go hunting," Honeypetal answered. They ignored the tiredness in their slightly pained bones and turned around, ready to start walking out of the camp with him. Any chance they got to spend time with their loved ones they would take now, they swore to themselves, to StarClan, vowing to never take advantage of anyone or anything. Perhaps not even the concept of rest.

That tired look still in her eyes, one that now was turning a bit sad as she turned momentarily her thoughts to how life had been the past while, it reflected how she had really been. But she didn't want to worry her father, for her pessimistic thoughts weren't anything worth talking about either. "I've...I've been fine," Honeypetal said. She hadn't died or anything, so she wasn't doing too bad, right? That's exactly what she told herself, though unknowingly she did so.

He followed Nightwhisper out, trying not to walk too slowly. Honeypetal already wanted to go back to camp before they could barely get into the territory, but he held his jaw tense and bit his tongue so to not complain over nothing. Not that he had anyone to blame other than himself for the staying up days without some rest and feeling like crap afterwards.

Nightwhisper heard the lie from his kit and turned a sharp yellow-ish Amber gaze on her. "And are you lying?" Nightwhisper mewed, he'd raised this warrior for Starclan's sake, lying was the thing he knew best about all of his kits. Weepingwillow always said they got it from him, the need to lie to be free. But Nightwhisper had always shrugged it off. As they grew he could tell what his mate meant. But..... with his parents gone and siblings away did he need to lie anything? Lying is an instinct, not a habit, not a fun little prank. Every animal needs to lie, either to feel good about themselves, to get out of trouble or danger, or even just to be left alone. Nightwhisper sighed as he thought about this, padding on gently, his muzzle newly tinged with white and grey hairs as he twitched his whiskers in thought.
