GoldenKit stepped out into the clearing from the nursery. He Stopped a moment to let his eyes adjust to the light. He breathed in the morning air. His pelt ruffled in the breeze. Smells of familiar flowers flowed on the wind. He closed his eyes letting it wash over him. How he loved Greenleaf. He bounded forward wondering what he would today.

He scoured the clearing looking for something to play with. His eyes caught a stick, and he dropped into his unskilled hunter crouch. He locked eyes with the twig swishing his tail. He growled and pounced landing clumsily on it. The twig caught his feet, and he stumbled forward losing his balance. He to landed on the floor with a soft bump.

Bluemoon noticed his son practicing in the clearing. Hey! He growled. Don't embarass yourself doing that! He flicked his tail and stood over Goldenkit.

He slowly turned his head towards his father making sure not to meet his gaze. Tears edged their way into GoldenKit's eyes."I'm sorry. I-I just wanted to practice." He nervously wrapped his tail around his legs to try and comfort himself.

What was I thinking! playing like that. If I want to be a apprentice soon I have to start acting like it. his thoughts were gloomy and nervous. It took all his concentration to not cry. He twitched his nose nervously hoping to sneak out of this situation.

Bluemoon snarled. That doesn't look like practice to me. He said. Now act like I'm the enemy and take me out! He growled, his blue eyes flaming.

GoldenKit stared hesitantly at his father. "Are.. Are you sure." His eyes shifted around "What if I hurt you?" He didn't want to hurt his dad.

Even if he was hesitant and not very sure of himself he proceeded to move into a clumsy hunting crouch. He had to do what his dad told him to do. His feet were misplaced and wobbly. He braced himself to jump at his father.

(Totally makes since, it is kind of his job description lol)

Bluemoon snorted. Of course I'm sure. You won't hurt me. He growled. He watched Goldenkit struggle into a hunting crouch and stifled a laugh.

I can do this right? Right! My Dad wouldn't make me do this if he didn't believe in me. I have to do this if I fail I might be held back. They wouldn't do that right? I have to nail this.

His eyes locked on BlueMoon. He braced his back legs to jump and leaped. His heart pounding so loud he swore he could hear it.

Bluemoon stepped to the side, unharmed by Goldenkit's attack. What was that? He glared at Goldenkit, watching him struggle to get up.
