Lichenflood furrowed his brow at Swiftleap. "How does any of that entitle you to another life? Everyone has regrets and cats they miss, it doesn't make you special." His tail flicked irritably, glancing over at Rowanmist and Snowleopard. "If we gave everyone with that pitch another chance, there'd be no dead. Get your head on straight and sell yourself or stop wasting our freaking time."

The tabby leaned back on his haunches, a worried expression on his face as Lichenflood spoke up after hearing the..well...the rather sad reasoning behind wanting to be reborn. "He has a point. Regret comes with life, we can't just...give out second chances simply because you feel bad about what's happened or what you've done." a pause as he shuffled to make himself more comfortable.

"Your old friend will join you in the realm of the dead. StarClan or Darkforest."

What a pity. Snowleopard’s gaze shifted from Swiftleap to her council mates. They were certainly being a bit harsh, but she couldn’t expect any less from them. They both had a point. If you wanted to return to walk amongst the living, whether that be through reincarnation or a complete resurrection, you really had to sell yourself.

With a tilt of her head, she offered Swiftleap a gentle–and perhaps pitious–smile. “Why do you think you deserve to return? We must know more about your intentions if we are to even think about giving you this second chance at life.”

* He looked down at his paws. They had a point. He couldn't just say that. He looked up with a small look of confidence. *
" I'm sorry for my weak reasoning. I let down my clan and myself. If you allow me to return I promise to look at and live like everyday is my last. I acted like I was a clan leader with nine lives. I understand you have many others who wish to return and I thank you for allowing me to explain my side. "

A growl rumbled in Lichenflood's throat. This was his issue with these cats: they had no ambition or vision beyond their own self-pity. The lives they lived were wasted, discarded as if it meant nothing and they were too blinded by their own desire for another chance to have some self-reflection and drive. If Swiftleap weren't a warrior who should've known better, perhaps Lichenflood would be more forgiving. But as it was, he wasn't vibing with Swiftleap's excuses and lackluster promises. "You're just gonna be another casualty of your own vanity. It's a no from me."

He would linger near the edge of the group in case Swiftleap would manage to sway his mind, but Lichenflood wasn't counting on that happening.

The tom sat there silently, unsure of how to progress...did that mean the other was willing to stay within the realm of the passed. Or would they continue to try and sway his fate?

After a few moments of him awkwardly scratching at his paw the Tabby spoke up. "Well. What is it you wish to do? Are you leaving it at that, and turning around? Or do you have a convincing argument?"
