With Wolfhive struck with the sickness that was going around it was up to Nightgaze to assess his apprentice, and boy oh boy as she going to give this kid the best one ever! She got up as soon as the first flicker of light shone on camp and quietly dashed to the apprentices' den where Alpinepaw resided and gently prodded them until they awakened from sleep. There was no time to waste! Thunderclan needed new warriors and they'd deliver!
"Alpinepaw, it's your assessment today so remember all your training and just do your best! Sure you'll be an awesome warrior!" The small hornet offered words of encouragement and put on her most cheerful smile as she lead them out of camp and towards the middle of the territory. She sure hoped they'd pass, but surely if they failed they could try again right.
As soon as they reached a sun dappled clearing she glanced back at them with a more serious tone.
"To pass you'll have to catch at least three pieces of prey and hold your own against me in a spar. Go catch some prey first, though, so you're not too tired." Nightgaze instructed, making it as clear as she could before flashing Alpinepaw a reassuring grin
"Good luck!" Sitting back on her haunches she watched as the apprentice hopefully started to drift away with disguised concern before briefly calling out one last time
"Don't go to far!"
