Paws skirted to a halt as yet another huge body zoomed past, unceremoniously spraying water from the road onto the pavement and leaving it's stench behind. Shaking the droplets that clung to his fur, ears still pinned to his head, he darted across the last stretch of the road until he made it to safety. Side blues eyes watched as a care narrowly missed him and continued speeding away. It was so loud, so busy! He was cold, hungry, lost and even scared. No- he was doings this. He was doing this for a reason, why else would that star cat have visited him. That was starclan, from the stories the old cats had told him. If not for them then he was doing this for the old guy. It was a shame he never learnt his name. Taking a deep breath, Tobie managed to calm himself down enough to walk into the closest alleyway. The image of what he'd seen still vivid in his mind, it helped keep him determined in what he was doing.
He had always believed the old toms stories were well- just that. stories. Nothing more, now seriously it was hard to believe there were a bunch of cats living and surviving together in far distant lands. Free from any upwalkers, living in the wild. Watched over by some ghosts cats known as starclan. Sure the stories were cool, and Tobie had enjoyed hearing them pretending one day he would go find these clans. It was all wishful thinking becuase it wasn't real. Or atleast he believed that until yesterday that is...Tobie leapt at the sound of barking, it was close too close. Scurrying to the back of the alley, he leapt on to a green dumpster thing and then onto a wall. Dogs. He hated them, preferred them behind fences or glass doors where they could get him. Anyway, what was he thinking about again? Oh yes!
The night starclan had visited him! Uh how did it go again, he had gone to visit the old cat for another story session. The memory struck a chord of grief through tobies heart, sure he had been an old grump but he was only cat who ever bothered talking to him. Without him, Tobie would have be alone. Like how he was now...looking up at the dark cloudy sky, Tobie half expected to see the pelt of stars. Was he doing what they wanted right? They had lead him ehre so why did they leave? He didn't know what he was supposed to do. Clans needed cats, he was only one.
The young tom flinched as he felt a droplet of water hit his nose. Ew. Then again and again. It was starting to rain, how lovely! Tobie would like nothing better to be curled up in his house right now, but he left that place. It was so far away from here- ugh rain ew stop- he made his way across the wall and jumped down to the other side. Now if only he could find shelter, then he could start planning. The rain was falling down harder now and the sky was darkening. Tobie ,not being able to withstand the rain any longer, took shelter in very worn and tattered box. It did little to stop the rain, it was in fact damp and uncomfortable but it would do.....kind of.....gosh what was he doing.
