foxes round 2: FIGHT!

The badger patrol had only been back for a moment with Mudhound and Risingstorm's returned. "Great, now the foxes are the main threat. The badger's dead," He beckoned to where it lay in the fresh kill pile, "so here's the plan.

"Risingstorm, Sproutfleck - you know the layout of the traps and the foxes the best. I want you guys to act as bait and lure the adult foxes out to the traps. The goal is to get them caught in them so we have less injuries to worry about.

"Everyone else - you'll be lying in ambush by the traps. Regardless of if the foxes are caught, we need to be ready to jump them. Risingstorm and Sproutfleck can join us in the battle." He figured the two could handle a quick chase in the woods. "Once the adults are dead, I want Brackenclaw, Raggedear and Nightgaze to mop up the den and kill the kids. We don't need more foxes growing up around our territory. We can disable any remaining traps then." And all that'd really be left were the vultures, but given they hadn't really harmed anyone Wolfhive wasn't terribly concerned.

Once everyone seemed on the same page, Wolfhive beckoned them to join him outside the territory. For most of the patrol, they'd be going to Sunkissed Creek with Wolfhive and lying in wait. He had faith in the bait duo, so he wasn't terribly concerned about them as he sent them off to Haggard Ruins. "Everyone, get in position! When the foxes get in the traps, that's your cue to attack. You don't need my call to do it."

Risingstorm nodded his head sniffing for he trap he marked finding the snare standing just off to it he was ready to trap the foxes maybe he could kill one if he was lucky the warrior was still twitching his whiskers he spotted the fox den in the distance he would wait till every cat was ready before he made a single thing to alert the foxes he wanted to sink his teeth into some fox fur

Brackenclaw never liked the idea of killing Young animals before they were adults but in this instance he knew there was no way he could show mercy. These Foxes threatened his Clan and for that they would pay with their lives. This Brackenclaw steeled himself to do. He listened to the plan intently before following silently with Wolfhive towards the Ambush area and settled into a hidden place allowing his dark fur to help hide him in the shadows. This was something Brackenclaw specialized in he was great at hunting and ambushing thanks to his naturally quiet nature and the way he could meld into the shadows due to his dark fur. Only his menacing orange eyes gave any indication of where he was. @Rani @Morrigan @Blaaze @BEAR.

Green eyes intently focused, The Bronze Knight had made quick work of returning to camp and approaching the head hornet, whom of which would swiftly began to explain the plan. A badger was dead? That was good. One less threat for ThunderClan, one less threat for his.. not family but something he couldn't properly describe. Sproutfleck heard his name being stated almost immediately in the plan alongside Risingstorm's. He flashed him a brief smile. Oh, so that's what he was here for. The primary white tomcat was going to use his knowledge alongside Rising's in order to be bait. Lovely, entertaining to say the least. And that was the origin story of how Sproutfleck became Freshmeat, his name which he would mentally refer to himself as at his own discretion for the remainder of his time as a lure. Freshmeat kept his ears perked as he listened to the entirety of Wolfhive's explanation. It seemed about as foolproof if not more than the Fisher Attack Plan from a while back. Freshman noted this to himself as he nodded along.

As soon as the bicolor finished speaking The Bronze Knight gave a swift nod in response, quietly adding mostly to himself, "They dont stand a chance." Before going alongside his once again companion to a perfect spot to wait. As soon as he knew everyone was in position, the foxfighting would ensue. Or rather, fox-luring for Freshmeat and Risingstorm until the foxes were in proper position.

Raggedear nodded as Wolfhive gave the instructions, turning to wave his tail in recognition to Brackenclaw and Nightgaze as they awaite their signal to attack.

Risingstorm waited till every cat was in position as the Tom put himself In front of trap with teeth the warrior looked around the group with hos green eyes giving a slight nod to sproutfleek before turning his head to the foxes den his fur bristled slightly as he grew ready for the fight he unsheathed his claws as his tabby tail swayed slightly behind him he felt his heart race and exhaled "HEY FOXES C'MER" he yowled that better have worked almost as if Starclan heard him two red furred ginger foxes emerged one looking right at rising, the warrior assumed it was the father of the kits due to its build seemed stronger then the other slimmer one. the bulky fox ran at him as rising stayed still till boom. the fox's leg

 

slammed right into the trap with teeth with a audible snap the cries from the fox

rising felt a shiver run through him the cries of pain were hard to hear but no no no this was a fox they didn't have any other emotion but kill. the fox tried to get out without trying to go after rising

Thunderclan Hornet

Badger down, foxes next! Nightgaze nodded vigorously along with Wolfhive's instructions. Don't know how she felt about killing baby foxes but once they were grown they wouldn't be so innocent anymore. That was just life. After swiftly trotting to sunkissed creek, the hornet dived into the shadows, and waited in position with the others.

Wow, before he could truly react it was time to lure the foxes. The patterned tomcat pricked his ears up as Risingstorm made his move, and Freshmeat (Sproutfleck) followed in hard pursuit. His muscular shoulders tensed back and eyes narrowed with a loud snarl toward the russet beasts as they appeared. Rising had one, that left him with the other appeared fox. His claws dug into the earth in front of the trap and Freshmeat grinned with a spark of adrenaline. “Hey fleabags!” he yowled. “Fresh damn meat!” the remaining fox’s head swiveled directly over to him as he lowered into an attack position. The smelly predator growled with anticipation of a meal, and The Bronze Knight stood his ground as it charged. Wait for it.. wait for it.. aaaand..

NOW! Freshmeat barely jumped away over the trap in time as the fox lunged for him. “You like that, mangepelt?” he taunted to the fox who was now on the earth, for not even a second earlier a sharp crack had proved his plans success. The fox’s right foreleg was now bloody as could be, leaving Freshmeat panting over it with an intense wave of adrenaline coursing through his veins. If he’d had a properly long tail the bobtailed tomcat would be bleeding and in agony. If he wasn’t so pumped up that is. Hell yeah. Battle time.

Mudhound wanted a naaaaaaaaaaap! Coyotes, the dog and now this and the hornet was ready to drop, like seriously they'd not been feeling the best of late (they were choking it up to Redhawk withdraws) and the constant work work work wasnt helping at all.


Still, they had experience with foxes from that ill fated disaster patrol so long ago now and better them then a less experienced warrior who might get hurt of killed. So here the hornet was, looking a tad more bedraggled then normal, with the patrol and getting ready for a scrap.



At least the plan was simple and hopefully the foxes would get caught and make this quicker and easier for the group. So with a nod at the orders the maine coon got into position, letting their brown fur blend into the dirt and keeping a keen ear out for yapping. After all, if the foxes said something enlightening then they'd be the only one who could understand them.

In total, there were four adults.

A large male had followed Risingstorm into a trap, and a smaller female Sproutfleck. Some distance away, two others had followed - but upon seeing the others get trapped they seemed to hesitate getting closer. At least from that angle...

They broke off to flank Sproutfleck and Risingstorm, intending to catch them off guard with their attention. Wolfhive saw this and sprang out of cover, launching himself toward the nearest one. "Go!"

The fox Wolfhive wasn't targeting lost its focus, attention drawn to Mudhound. Wolfhive wasn't focused enough on that fox to see things exactly, but he saw it lunge for the doofus. "Mud, look out!"
