Wolfhive had roused them before nightfall.

It was a decision made solely to ensure they had time to get out and hunker down - ideally, no one would be scooped up by the owl tonight. "Come on, it's go time. The owl's gonna wake up soon 'n I want you guys to be out there and spot it before it sees you first. Once you find its nest around the Cove, come back 'n report to Bumba or myself." Yes; Spiderthroat was deputy. No, Wolfhive didn't care. This was a team effort and all the patrols needed to be on the same page. "Nightgaze, you're in charge - don't let the old timer push you around."

At the camp entrance, he would stop. His paws itched to get out there and hunt this stupid bird, but this was not his patrol to go on. "Unless you got questions, get going."

--- How This'll Work ---

• This is the first patrol, designed to find where the owl is nesting around Firefly Cove. They're leaving just before nightfall so they can get into position / conceal themselves before the owl spots them ; Wolfhive and Bumblestar don't want to lose more cats!!
  
  
• When the owl's home is found, a patrol member should report back to Wolf or Bumble in this thread. From there, the other patrols will be dispatched to deal with it.
  
  
• To keep things going, this first patrol should take no more than 7 days and we ask-- though do not require!!!-- the members to try to post at least once a day if possible to avoid stalling.
  
  
• If someone does not make a post within 24 hours of the previous poster, their turn may be skipped to keep things moving. Your characters however will not be punished unless they have made no attempt to participate or help out.

Raggedear's pelt prickled with excitement and he had to force his fur to lie flat as he slunk through the forest towards Firefly Cove. The stupid bird would pay for it's crimes against ThunderClan. His eyes passed over the cats with him, nodding in acknowledgment to Nightgaze as they were designated leader of the patrol. "Lead the way." He had to admit, he was surprised it wasn't Spiderthroat, but he said nothing on the matter. Instead, he fell into step with the deputy.

"Hopefully no mud to slow us down this time." He joked quietly, referencing their rather messy hunting patrol not long ago.

The calico made his way towards the Head Hornet. Ears twitching as he kept his mind on track. Find the owl. Only find the owl. He didn't have to kill it....he knew that he couldn't. He knew better, his ego was big but he had some bit of smarts to him.

Spiderthroat didn't care about other's pushing around orders. Meant this Clan was in the right step towards rebuilding itself. Something it's been doing steadily since a certain tyrants ruling. Oh no. Stern rules help save an economy. Who would have thought? Although he did shoot Wolfhive a lighthearted glare.

As he spoke of pushing around Nightgaze, he simply stared at the molly. Unblinkingly as a smile tugged at the edges of his maw. "Don't slip up. Only the lives of yourclanmates in your paws. Nothin big." a snort as he made his way towards the exit, although not quite leaving. Instead hovering nearby and waiting for the hornet to take the first step out instead.

Tonight was the night the plan was set in action, and Nightgaze couldn't have been more eager to find this owl and teach it a lesson! ...Well, find it. The others would be the ones to actually take down this fox-heart of a bird, but she'd still play a part in it's demise and that's what counted! Revenge for Springlight! Revenge for Thunderclan!

Shaking off the last scraps of moss from her pelt, the small hornet bounded after Wolfhive. Nodding vigorously at the instructions they were given, she gave small smile of excitement when she learned it would be her to be the boss of this patrol. Cool! "Yes, sir, Wolfy, sir!" She chirped, curling her tail, giving Raggedear a small nod back and Spiderthroat a quiet scoff. No grumpy Spidey dep would boss her around! Practically shaking with anticipation, she gave a tiny shake of her head at the questions part. She just wanted to get going and find the flying rat! Quickly taking the lead, she gave an exaggerated gesture of her head towards the forest. "Let's get going, team!"

Raggedear bounded forward towards Nightgaze, leaving just enough room not to surpass her as she led the patrol. "Do we have a general idea of where it's hiding besides just 'Firefly Cove'?" he asked quietly, ears pricked with alertness as they began their patrol. Sure, they had just left- but who knows where that sky rat really is? What if it was listening to them? Can it listen to them? The tom rolled his eyes at himself. 'Mousebrain! As if a bird could understand cat.' He thought to himself, but a small chuckle escaped his lips. What a sight that would be. "We definitely have to act quickly so the other patrols can get into position as soon as possible."

The tom slunk after the pair, waiting to be the last to leave. Putting his mind in work mode. "Pretty easy goin about a thing that's killed our Medicine Cat." he input darkly. Not appreciating the tone Nightgaze had for the beginning of a rather important patrol.

Looking at Raggedear from the corner of his eye as he kept his head low. Attempting to sniff out where it could have been. "That's what we got so far if we're lookin at evidence. At least that's where it snatched Springlight. Surely the animal ain't too dumb to fly too far from home." he assumed, doing his best to keep his nose to the ground, and eyes around him.

"The quicker we find this thing, the better."
