Quail'kits ears twitched at the sound of someone's voice, she didn't feel like getting up yet. It was too early and her nest was too cozy. Her mind immediately changed when she heard one of the queens mention hunting. Her head shot up immediately, moss and sticks still stuck in her unkempt fur as she looked for the source of the conversation. Finally spotting Leopardsong and Vinekit.

Quail'kit didn't even give herself time to fully wake up and immediately dove out of her nest and bounded towards Leopardsong, stumbling over her own paws and squinting her eyes up at the queen as they adjusted to the light seeping into the dark den. "Hunting? Can I come? Are we going hunting??" she asked excitedly bouncing around Leopardsong with a whole lot of energy for a cat who had just woken up.

Quail'kit immediately stopped what she was doing and attempted compose herself before sitting down and trying not to squirm or be overwhelming. "oh um, sorry. I meant to say, am I allowed to come too?" she asked politely this time. She's had cats tell her that she could be a overwhelming when she was hyper or excited, and she's been scolded before for not being polite. She was trying to fix that now.

She then noticed Vinekit who was sitting alert waiting for Leopardsong's response as well and smiled at him, nudging the tom in greeting. "oh uh, Good morning" she added, greeting the both of them politely. While attempting to neaten her fur.

"H-hi?" Lilaclight stuttered, fear and kittypet stench coming together. She knew that wouldn't be very appealing to the other cat, who seemed dangerous. But then, it was different here. Still, she felt compelled to explain her presence here. "T-twilightstar accepted me in recently... I'm Lilaclight. I mean, I am now. I used to be Lila, but I like my new name more. A seemingly peaceful day, Winterkit sat in her usual corner of the Nursery, the corner she never left. She turned to the entrance to the Nursery, wincing. The sunlight hurt her eyes. The sunlight was never pleasant. She loved it most when it was nighttime, quiet, calm, and dark. It was more comfortable on her eyes. Her mama, Duskray had told her that she had a "strange sensitivity to light" because of her condition. Winterkit never understood what it was. What she did gather from that statement was that she was weird. Different. Kits were scared of her. Even the queens seemed scared of her.

What was wrong with her?

Winterkit turned away from the Nursery entrance, her gaze turned to the walls.

Winterkit slowly turned to the unfamiliar tom. She looked at him for a brief moment before averting her gaze and staring at the ground. Was this kit here to tease her? Nobody had ever come up to her. Ever. Nobody ever, in fact, wanted to be near her at all. And this strange kit...

Winterkit looked back at the tabby tom, silently studdying him. He did not have the usual scared or repulsed expression other kits usually had when they took a look at Winterkit. Instead, it was more of... Sympathy. Understanding. It confused Winterkit, but it wasn't threatening.

She blinked at him in response, not wanting to speak up. Not yet.

(I can already sense a friendship forming between these two <3)

He Carved Two Holes Over Both Leaves, For Their Ears So They Stayed On. He Set His Leaf On His Head. Follow Me! I Promise, I'm Not Like The Other Kits, I Won't Hurt Ya. He Looked At The She As He Stood Up, And Waited For A Moment, For Winter To Get Up.

Winterkit blinked in surprise when Beankit returned with two large leaves, setting one on her head. This was strange, but amusing, and it worked. Winterkit blinked several times more, trying to get used to the unusal shade over her eyes. She looked at Beankit, her eyes wide with confusion.
Why was this tom doing this?
She was still skeptical, but she wanted to listen to him. She stood up, still looking at the brown tabby kit.

Mossball?

With her?

She had seen other kits play this so called "Mossball", but she was never invited to play nor she ever wanted to. To much socializing and yelling required. Winterkit looked down at the mossy ground, pawing at the moss. She started to think maybe this Beankit isn't as bad as she expected. Could he really be different from the other kits she'd met?
