He had too…it would be wrong if he didn’t…right? He had to tell her at some point. It’s been…what? Four moons since he found her and she joined the clan. And he was sure it was her about 3 moons ago. She had to know who to be cautious of…of what he had done, how he left. Well…he was chased off, but he decided that fate. It was his fault.

He spotted her familiar pelt…his heart was practically leaping from his chest as he forced himself to walk towards her. “RaccoonSun?…We need to talk.”

Raccoonsun had been doing... well, not much.
It'd been an off day so far.
Nothing too crazy, just felt like she wasn't doing enough around the clan and all that.
Eugh.

She was just about to find something useful to do, when, boom, Rowanmane was there.
Oh, wow, he was the one initiating conversation this time.

Wait, need to talk?
Why?
What'd she do?
No, the words 'need to talk' doesn't have to mean something bad.
Could just be... responsibility stuff or something, he is a Lionheart now and all that.

"Uh, sure." The dilute tortoiseshell replied, expression just a little confused still "What about?"

How should he start this now? Just straight up say he was her father? No- no. He did t want to scare her to death…or worry her. So what more gentle words could he use? He was never the best at that.

“Abou’…yer’ past…” hopefully that was good enough? It felt…right.

Wait what.
Now Raccoonsun is just confused.
And there's a pit in her stomach for some reason at the mention of the past she can't remember, but she's ignoring that.

Her expression shows every ounce of confusion.
"What? How? What about it?" Best way she could fully convey her confusion.

Because seriously, what would her past have to do with Rowanmane?
She can't even remember it, so what else would he have to add?

She clearly had no idea…no suspicion on why he tried his best to avoid her…backed out of everything she did. Even with what he was asking her now, she had not a clue…still he had to ask. “Do you remember anything?…Have any ideas or…simply assume?” he questioned.

Wherever this was going, she wasn't sure she was going to like it.
Something felt off.
He'd never really talked to her about this before.
This was weird.

"Nope, nothing. Only random feelings." She said, though she felt a growing suspicion that she didn't fully understand "Why are you so interested all of the sudden?"
She didn't necessarily mean to sound accusatory, but it slipped into her voice a bit.
Oops.
She just doesn't like these questions, for whatever reason that she can't figure out.

This was going to be more of a struggle than he had anticipated, huh?…He wanted to dive deeper. What exactly were those random feelings? “Because! ‘Cause…I think- well I know…tha’ I knew ya…” he wouldn’t say how yet…but that information slipped. “I knew ya before ya lost yer’ memory…” he felt a weight be lifted from his shoulders. Sure, he didn’t reveal everything. But that was enough to not feel so guarded around her.

Raccoonsun's thoughts came to an abrupt halt.
He what?
Knew her?

A lot of questions started whirling through her mind.
'What kind of stuff have I forgotten? Was it bad? What was I like? Was I good or bad? How do you know me if you're from RiverClan and I use to be an outsider?'

Only two questions came out.
"How did you know me?" She asked, and some doubt, she didn't know if it was directed toward herself or Rowanmane, started to rise "And why are you only just now telling me?"
She didn't like the way that question came out.
She didn't like to sound angry.
Because she wasn't. She was just really confused.

The first question he was posed…he would mind much putting it off. It was confusing and rocky and something he hadn’t ever spoken about. It was something he internally faced but hard to get a hold of and put into words when telling another cat. He’s tried…he was going to share when joining the clan but chickened out then…he didn’t know many cats, but surely now he could trust a select few (or one). “Before- before I wasn’t sure. I had to be sure it was you…” he said, his voice strained and hesitant. “It’s…I wasn’t around long…I’m sorry……” he sucked in a deep breath then looked down at his paws, in a way of shame (which looked odd for the large, strong cat he was). “I’m your father.”

'I'm your father.'
When the words came out of Rowanmane's mouth, Raccoonsun just kinda... froze up for a good few moments.

Because what?!
No way!
This guys, in all his awkwardness, is her-!?
Well, actually, the awkwardness might add up.
She's not very put together herself.

But she felt so unbelievably surprised.
Something in her mind was bugging her about this.
She said he was dead.
What was that?
She almost remembered something!
And then she lost it!
UHGGGHHH.

You'd think this kind of revelation would jog her memory or something!
But noooope!
As soon as she gets a hold of something, it's gone.

Ya know what, she has a better way.
Interrogation!

She finally unfreezes, and narrows her eyes and pokes him in the chest with a paw as she speaks.
"If you really are my dad, then I have some questions." She stated "You said you weren't around long, what's that mean? And who's my mom, then? Don't tell me I have a mystery mom in RiverClan too, I'm begging you."
Honestly, she was pushing down any of the misplaced frustration she had and just forcing out the questions that she needed answers to.
