Seabreeze shook out any remnant dew from his pelt as he awoke in his nest in the makeshift warriors den. Oh, another night without a single nightmare. How strange. Well he must still be too tired from everything to even create his own nightmares within his dreamscape. That wasn't to say that he had a good dream. He doesn't think he had any dreams at all. Well, doesn't matter does it? No, it was time to get up and get going for the day. It waits for no one he has long since learned. Time was a crueler beast than any. He got his paws and padded out into the clearing and veered towards the apprentices den. This was going to be a Duckpaw focused day.

He ducked his head into the den entry, "Duckpaw, come on, we are going to do battling." It wasn't like there was much more that he could teach proper while stuck here in the mountains. The river was too violent for even him to swim in without going down the mountain to calmer waters. Maybe there was a pond somewhere that he could bring his apprentices to at least practice fishing form for when they get back. How annoying, they were Riverclan! And they didn't even have access to a proper river! How messed up was that? Well at least they were still alive. "Perhaps we will practice tracking and see if we can find a stream or pond to practice proper fishing form and technique, does that sound fun?"

Duckpaw was awoken by the voice of his mentor, seabreeze, he let out a little tail wiggle of excitement, he knew it was going to be a good day when his mentor came to get him for some training! He jumped up from his nest and without hesitation he ran to his mentor, his tail wiggled once again as seabreeze said something about battle training. "Yeah! I'm really excited for my battle training!" He looked at his mental as he started out of camp, to excited to care about anything at the moment.

Seabreeze nodded a bit with a small smile at his apprentice's eagerness, this was good to see in an apprentice. After all, it was much better than an apprentice not wanting a lesson. His mind went to Rabbitpaw, he hadn't gotten her to do anything with him despite his efforts before she just.... disappeared one day. The lionheart motioned towards the exit to camp with a paw before starting that way, he walked slow at first so that his apprentice could come to his side before setting into a more productive walking pace until they made it to an open space that would serve well as a training area of sorts. It was the same place he brought Covepaw to not long ago.

"Alright, first things first, we'll start with a battle stance. It's similar to a hunting crouch in the way that it prioritizes lightfootedness and even weight. It's designed to help you be ready to dodge at a moment's notice which is necessary in a battle. Strength and fighting is good, but it really comes down to a battle of stamina and resilience in most cases." The Lionheart spoke, recalling his first fight after receiving his full name. How he had been reckless and stupid, and then ended up paying the price for it with the loss of his tail and pride. Not that he had much of it, though he's learned since then at least that's what he likes to think. "This lesson will prioritize dodging and some basic moves."

"Do you have any questions so far? Do you have anything specific you want to learn in this lesson or future ones?"

Duckpaw nodded as his mentor said what they would be working on today for battle training, he figured battle training couldn't be that hard, right? Hopefully as easy as it was to learn hunting stances! He's also a quick learner so this should be easy.

He thought about any questions he had, he had some cooked up in his brain."Well questions....hmm..oh right! um, if my name has duck in it, when I learn how to swim, will I just get it right away? I mean ducks know how to swim right after they are born, and I count myself as a ducky!" he said curiously.
