Time had moved on, new kittens came and went from the nursery as the seasons changed. Nightshiver blinked slowly, her presence in the den's mouth casting a shadow over the nursery floor; a familiar one, one that often stood within the same vicinity.

She gone out, that day, earlier in the morning - a rare occurrence as of the past few moons, save from the occasional out-of-den duty. Her purpose had been to rally both Hawkbite [ @SuspiciousMindz ] and Midnightpath [ @Omari ], giving them the option to join her this day as she finally got around to making certain introductions. First of all, the Starrysmoke trio meeting her newest adoptee - and secondly, should they find the time, introducing two of her dearest friends to them.

Quietly the forever queen stepped closer to the first three she took under her care, her expression and tone gentle as she rose them from sleep or occupation, a tender smile on her face.
"Snarling..kit, Tigerkit... Berrykit. C-can you come... here, loves?"
She blinked, slowly.
"I'm... s-sorry... I haven't been... around much.. lately. It has.. has been... different, for me too...; My duty... is often spread be-between... all the kits... of the nursery. But... I promise, to be more..more present in... your in..individual lives from... here on.. out... Alright?"

She paused, not expecting those to be the first words to leave her maw and yet they weigh heavy on her heart.
"I.. love you.. three... so much. You can... always find me, I... I will... always be... here."
She whispered to the three, leaning down to gently bump her nose against each of them in a gentle sign of affection, before gently gesturing them to follow.
"And loves.., There is... there is also... somecats I'd like... you three t-to meet."

When he had heard his own name called and those of his siblings he tensed up but followed. At least he could get out of the dark corner of his den huh? He followed, looking for his older and younger sister. So many sisters. He found it annoying but…he supposed they were fun sometimes.

He plopped down in front of NightShiver and looked up the she that was caring for them, almost having to feel a pang of sympathy for the over-worked cat. “Alright…” he looked down to his small paws then back to the she-cat when she nudged each of them. Something about him tried to pull away but rather than that, he leaned into the sign of affection. It felt nice to be cared for by a mother-like figure. He missed his own, whom he never actually got to know.

He was at peace for a moment but his nose wrinkled up as she said he had to meet new cats. Oh goodness, what would this be about? Whatever it was, he didn’t think he’d enjoy it much.

Berrykit blinked awake sleepily as her name was called, sliding out of her nest ungracefully. "I'm coming." She squeaked, rubbing her eye with a paw to clear the blurriness before blundering after her brother. She was greeted with Nightshiver- her adoptive mother. Purring, the she-kit wound herself around Nightshiver’s legs as she spoke. "You're back!" She exclaimed, turning to also brush pelts with her brother, Tigerkit. "Did ya hear that, Tigerkit? New friends!" She was practically bouncing with joy.

The Commander had to round up Fishkit for the forever queen. She wanted to introduce her to the rest of the litter she currently had. It was a happy little family they were forming -- or so, it seemed. Hawkbite may have taken up the father figure of the group, but being called a dad was something foreign to him. He was still adjusting to just Fishkit calling him that. He wasn't sure if he was ready for the rest of the litter to do that, if they chose to. It wasn't like he and Nightshiver were mates... right? Right???

"Fishkit, come on, I gotta introduce you to some other cats. Nightshiver set it up for us," Hawkbite spoke, giving the she-kit a couple grooming licks before dragging her alongside him to the group. "It'll be fun, I promise," he spoke.

Within a few minutes following that, Hawkbite had managed to bring Fishkit with him to the group of kittens already gathered around Nightshiver. "Greetings, Nightshiver," Hawkbite spoke softly, his gaze shifting to the rest of the kittens. They were all new to the clan too, from what he understood. Hopefully they were all settling in okay.

Fishkit padded behind her dad "Who?" she asked looking up at him eyes big "Ooo fun!" she purred soon they got into the nursery and she saw her mom and other kits "Hi mama" she meowed then looking at the other kits she walked up to one "Hello I'm fishkit"

Soon enough Hawkbite a little Fishkit arrived, and Nightshiver greeted both of them with a tender smile as she sat, her tail wrapping around her three children as they stood facing the other pair. Mismatched eyes looked down at their varied reactions, tone gentle when she began to speak.
''Snarlingkit... Berrykit, Tigerkit. This..This is F-Fishkit; I've taken... her under... m-my.. care also, just like... you three. And-- and that's,''
She turned to Hawkbite, giving him a soft smile.
''Hawkbite. A g-good... friend of..mine. You might... know him a-as... the commander of.. the enforcers;
She added the second part softly, looking at her children.
''If... if you e-ever need... anything, and... I'm not... around... You can... trust him. He's very... nice.''
With that, her eyes moved to Fishkit, beckoning her closer should she like.
''Fishkit.. these are... Snarlingkit, Berrykit..and Tigerkit. I... adopted.. them when- some.. time ago. I wanted... You all to.. to meet, in hopes that... you'd get a-along and -- maybe, be friends. To m-me, you... you are all... my.. Family. Each... of you, I love... very much, and... I h-hope.. you can find.. friendship amongst.. yourselves, too. And... I-I thought... we could spend... ssome time, together.''

Hawkbite sat quietly as Nightshiver introduced them to the kittens. His whiskers would twitch with amusement regardless on how they responded when they learned who he was. Fishkit had already claimed him as her 'papa' so he was curious to see what these kittens would refer to him as. Would he also suddenly be a 'papa' to them? Surely not... but he wouldn't know for sure yet.

"Yes, I'll always be around if you guys need me for anything. Even if it's just a nap. I love a good daytime nap," he chuckled. Usually that was when kittens found him. Napping in the clearing during the day as he always had. Hawkbite worked at night most times so he was almost always around the camp during the day.

[I'm probably going to mention all the kittens in a nursery post soon, post Night being attacked by the fox. So they know what happened and why she's going to look different.]
