She had gotten the order to train a youngin’. Out of the three instructors she was chosen huh? Good for her! She smiled softly to herself, padding from her den to near the nursery and scanning for any kit that looked like they were waiting for her. “Any kit for Self Defense lessons? If so- get over here!” she called out to the jumble of kits running around. Oh how precious they were, she remembered when Spider’Paw had been that age!

"Oh oh! That's me! Me!" Muddykit scrambled over, almost tripping over her own paws. She ran up to the cat before sitting as properly as she could and looking up with a look of pure excitement.

She watched as the energetic kit scrambled up to her paws. Clumsy when excited? Noted. But she smiled down to the little ball of energy. “Hi youngin’! What’s your name?” she asked the kit kindly.

"My name's Muddykit!! What's yours?" She asked, repeating like a script that had been engraved into her mind. Her tail twitched as she looked up at the warrior with wonder and joy in her eyes.

“I’m BristleThorn, ShadowClan Warrior.” she boasted to the smaller kit. “It’s nice to meet ya—so, whatcha wanna learn first? We’ll start with some basics!” she questioned and (slightly) explained.

She used this little bit of time to observe the kit, trying to pick up on her personality and learning speed and ability.

"Whoa...." She breathed, looking up at the warrior. That was gonna be her someday... She was sure of it... "Anything anything! I wanna be the best and coolest warrior like you!" She mewed, jumping up, tail lashing with excitement.

The coolest warrior huh? Well, there went BristleThorns ego, flying all the way up to StarClan in seconds. She knew she was amazingly cool, but hearing another cat say it?—awesome.

Hold up—don’t sidetrack! You’re training this kit! So she wanted to learn anything? Hmph…BristleThorns tail swayed back and forth as she wondered where to start. She would just teach this young one the basics for now. Yeah—that’d work. She looked for a more…secluded area in camp. Somewhere kits weren’t running and playing and yelling. “Well- thank you for the compliment youngin’. Now, follow me.” she instructed, trotting over to a quiet, slightly shady corner. This kit seemed spirited, perhaps she could hype her up by sharing stories of battles after? Yeah, that’d do.

Muddykit happily followed, trotting over and trying to keep speed with the larger cat. She went into the corner with her, staring up with anticipation, just waiting for whatever they were going to do next. She would listen to every word this warrior said!

She whipped around back to face the kit the second she was at the area she’d like to be at. At least the thing had the spirit and motivation to learn—she just hoped it wouldn’t distract the kit too much.

“Okay, so, I’m going to first teach you a good fighting crouch alright? I’ll explain and then demonstrate. You’ll repeat after me once I’m done, alright?” she confirmed with the kit.
