Lazily a copper eye peeled open, followed by a little smirk tugging at the Crown's mouth at the sight of her cousins. She rolled over from her side to rest on her stomach and blinked at Rev and Nel as they approached. "Oh you're not." What kind of leader would she be if she didn't listen to the cats she was leading, her family at that? "Im great, thanks! Just trying to get some rest in while expecting any one of you guys" referring to the Atari cats "running in to report the next catastrophe, you know how it is." Her voice was casual and conversational, even with a hint of her lingering grin.
"How about you two?" This time her attention turned to Rev rather than the older sibling and lowering her voice. "annnyyyyy.... schemes lately? "

He/Him - 31 Moons - Purrks: N/A
Dark brown tom with white stomach, tufts of fur on his
head, green eyes
╚════▣◎▣════╝
Ugh, a patrol. Frankly, Antlerbranch wasn't in the mood for anything. Not after Wisteriawren. But on the other paw, he didn't want to get punished. Grumpily, the tom dragged himself out of the warrior's den and over to his patrolmates. Green hues glared at them as Antlerbranch spoke. "Let's move it. Now."

soon the Mudsmoke spotted antlerbranch approaching them, the tom didn't seem to be in the best of moods. Rising to his paws he flicked his tail signalling to the apprentice that they were leaving. Making his way out of camp, he lead riftpaw and antlerbranch towards the path he had taken the last time he went into the territory. It lead towards the only river in these mountains, far to dangerous to swim in expscially for apprentices. He'd just have to keep a close eye on riftpaw then. He slowed down the moment the sound of rushing water reached his ears. Okay they were here.
"okay kid, here's how this will work. Moss usually grows in dark 'n damp places, the logs and rocks along the rivers edge where you're most likely to find 'em. Watch you step and be careful, the waters hear aren't as calm and relatively safe as riverclans. Far from it. If u fall in- you get the just of it." he said specifically to riftpaw as he turned to face the apprentice, hopefully both of them, antlerbranch included, didn't take his words lightly. The currents here were pretty strong, even for older more experienced warriors. "Mistyshard also requested sticks, so if you see any I suggest collecting them aswell. Marigold also grows close to water, see any then collect 'em." he looked at both his patrolmates one last time before turning away and trudging back into the treeline. They were both capable, he trusted they could handle themselves besides it was just collecting moss and picking flowers.
Nearing the base of one of the nearby trees which was shaded by a boulder, he spotted the green stuff growing up the side of both structures. Digging his claws into it he ripped it off the tree trunk and rocks surface and bundling it together with his paws so it was easier to carry. Once he had managed to collect a decent amount of moss, he headed back towards the river where he remembered having spotted two bright yellow flowers prior. Much to his appreciation they were infact there and his mind hadn't been messing with him. Picking the two flowers, he made his way back to where he had left his patrol mates and waited for them.
Covepaw flanked Seabreeze, excitement in his eyes. He loved exploring, and if there was something he loved more than exploring, it was training! Just to be out and run around made him feel free. Freer than usual, of course. He always felt free! It didn't even seem a question at this point. The way he acted, his mannerisms, it was all there. His tail swayed behind him, sweeping over the ground. He liked doing that. It made Covepaw able to feel the things behind him without needing to turn around! though he still did a hefty amount of that anyways. He turned his head to Seabreeze after hearing his question.
"Oh, no! I did catch a squirrel once on patrol and it was like, so cool! I never thought I'd be able to catch land prey! I'm not even that acquainted with fishing either, so..."
Covepaw realized he was rambling and quieted down, leaving only his answer with a few extra details. Normally it was a lot more than a few, and he was glad he caught himself. Especially in the presence of a cat he had a deep appreciation and respect for. He wondered what happened to Snowmelt. He was quite fond of the two cats, and would hold that for the rest of his life, he was sure!
He halted his thoughts to listen to Seabreeze's run-down. Swimming was one of the things he wanted to learn the most. It was, well, cool! Swimming against the currents, watching other clans be befuddled by it. Awesome stuff! Covepaw listened intently, sure that he would need to know this for later. He wasn't sure how fearful he'd be of the water the first time he tried. And part of him knew it was good to be safe. After all, he didn't know what would happen! He understood Seabreeze when he mentioned the obvious part. He'd been in fear multiple times, and that definitely wasn't fun, but it taught him something each time. Control, for one!
"I haven't got any questions. And it 'snt boring! It's fairly interesting, considering the fact I'll need to know it for later!"
Covepaw smiled, perking his ears as he flicked his tail. There were things far more boring than safety, he thought.
Seabreeze
He/him | Riverclan Lionheart | Moons: 21 | Purrks: Go with the Flow | The Collector | Ultimate Predator |
“Ocean waters rising above your neck
You feel the glass start to crack.”
Seabreeze nodded with a small smile at the apprentice's words, that was a nice change in pace. The last apprentice he taught wasn't so happy about the safety side of things which was a bit ironic given what their passion had been back then before... The lionheart fought to keep the glare off his face and shook the thought from his head, no reason to upset himself and make Covepaw think its his fault in anyway. Though he couldn't help but curse that feline, had used Riverclan and played them for fools and left the moment she didn't get what she wanted... what a joke and truly was the perfect example of all that's wrong with his clan. Better to be rid of her, she would only be trouble for them so it was a clean cut and not a huge loss.
"Well then uhh-" Seabreeze stopped as a sudden spray of water hit the back of his heels and he looked back towards the raging river. Watching as the current twisted and turned and churned about the rocks and logs and sticks in its mass. Hmm. Seabreeze cautiously stuck a paw into the swirling water and was surprised by the suddenness of it. Trying to sweep it from its hold on the riverbed and he was hardly even in the actual river. Yeah. Nevermind, they would do this a different day, back home where the river was kinder and softer. "A-actually... what did you say about land hunting? You haven't much experience but managed to catch something? Nice job, Covepaw, uhhh how about instead of swimming we do some more land hunting practice?" The lionheart took his paw out of the water and faced the apprentice again, "It's a lot worse than I originally thought and I wouldn't want our first lesson to end with us both having a near death experience.... or death in general."
Elegantly spoken as per usual, Seabreeze, great words. Way to scare your apprentice out the gate really but honestly he was a bit surprised Covepaw was speaking about being nervous or scared looking at the river because it was awfully fussy. Had Covepaw seen their river back in their territory at all? If not, then it wasn't like he had a lot to compare with. "Moving a bit too fast, hope you don't mind the lesson change." He spoke at last and started to walk down the mountain again slowly after giving the apprentice time to react and respond, they could head towards the woods.

,,, right. both of his patrolmates had disappeared and wormbite had waited far too long. there was the issue of the fact he was blind and only knew the visual description. fifty-five moons in riverclan and yet snakeheart had been the only medicine cat to ever really remember - or bother. typically, he would've reminded them but since tulippaw showed initially he figured he would be fine. at least the herbs seemed somewhat plausible to find. he always had touch and pure guessing.
the oriental trailed through the territory, paws sliding forward before taking a proper step. again, and again. he felt as if he was a mindless ghost; trudging through mud whenever not being perceived by another. time evaded him as he walked, unsure whether or not it was going slow or fast.
... and then wormbite walked into a spiky bush, having not quite slid his paws far out enough to feel it. he let out a shocked honk, jerking back. ,,, ergh were there squished berries on him? he shook his head back and forth, scrambling to wipe it off. it was slimy!!!! not a cool texture!!! nono!
with a huff, he grabbed a branch of the berries. maybe these were what mistyshard was talking about.
his journey would continue, ears swiveling to the sounds around him. the birdsong was calming. inside the Pit it was silent besides the sound of dripping water. orhisscreaams.
eventually, wormbite would stumble across a patch of - er flowers? maybe, it felt star-shaped. ish? it was tall and hairy. ,,,,,, his stomach churned uncomfortably. he just needed to get it over with he just needed to get it over with. he grabbed a clump of them, trudging on.
after falling in a (medium) hole & trudging through mud, the tom would find what he ,, was pretty sure was marigold by the disgusting scent. finally, wormbite would collect a few cobwebs - it wasn't exactly what mistyshard had asked for but it would be useful in case he did mess up.
with a sigh and a ridicously queasy stomach, the warrior headed back to camp.

| hi!! so sorry this this took so long, i completely forgot and thought it had been finished ;0; i know he got an extension but idk how long so im assuming he also bypassed it lol
wormbite's limbs ached and throbbed in protest of the strenuous activity. leaves stuck out in his pelt and his legs were covered in mud. blue was smeared over his chest - someone had clearly fought a bush and did not win amongst other things. still, he carried a mouthful of what he believed to be herbs. the scent was overwhelming him, and his stomach was churning. hated herbs, always did and always will. wormbite enjoyed being helpful, but herb patrols? the bane of his existence. at least it was over.
he limped into camp, his nose twitching as he scented for mistyshard. the cold air of night had fallen upon them. stars, he wasn't looking forward to also completing a punishment. once he found the medicine cat, he dropped what he was holding at his paws. "deepesst apologizess it took sso long. morningmimic did not sshow. tulippaw had, unfortunately sshe did not sstick around. i did my besst to look for her but to no avail. er, the territory wass - a bit troublessome. i did manage to collect.. a few herbss?" wormbite's eyebrows furrowed together.
"i am uncertain if the berriess or flower is what you were referring to. i did my besst to ah, find ssomething that sseemed to fit your vissual desscription but, " he made a small gestures to his cloudy eyes. "if it iss not what you need i can go back out if you perhapss knew the sscent? i did however manage to collect cobwebss and marigold in casse i wass indeed wrong, " he explained.
Duckpaw
{ 7 moons | He/him } "Trying to burn the flame ended
up burning the whole place down"
Duckpaw nodded to seabreeze, he was happy his mentor approved of his skills, and that seabreeze wanted to try it on a live animal, he just hoped it wasn't a duck, because that would practically be killing himself! And he didn't want to do that. But if that was the only alive thing they could find, it was going to be the choice that they had to use. "Ok! just make sure it's not a duck." he said with a giggle.
Larkwing
~<>~
24 moons || she/her || RiverClan Warrior || Kitty Softpaws, Mind Reader, Beefed Up T2 scarred, scrawny dilute tortoiseshell; green eyes
As Fishfreckle leans forward, his forehead resting on hers, Larkwing stills, and for just a moment, the contact scares her. It's an affectionate, intimate gesture, and Lark has no idea what to do with that. Fish had never struck her as the type to initiate, let alone enjoy, physical contact for comfort, and maybe if he hadn't been half emaciated and delirious with the sickness Lark can smell on his pelt he wouldn't have done such a gesture. It's selfish, and she doesn't know exactly what it means, but the tortoiseshell finds herself wanting more of this.
Maybe she shouldn't.
"Took you long enough," she whispers, eyes watching him, worried. She wanted to know what happened, how it had gotten so bad, but she wasn't sure he'd tell her. "Welcome home."
Regrettably, Larkwing quickly returns to her senses, concern over the warrior overshadowing her relief that he'd returned home, and she broke their contact, stepping back to look him over. It was obvious he's hardly eaten, and obvious, too, that he looked as though sleep had been a mere afterthought. But, what concerned her more than that, was how sick he looked and smelled, the odd, sour tang of illness tinged with what she thought might be a hint of old crowfood worried her.
"You need to see the medicine cats," she said, and if the statement came out more like an order, well, maybe he'd actually listen - though she doubted that. "Can you make it there yourself, or do I need to drag you?" She would grab him by his scruff and drag him like a misbehaving kit if he'd refused, she wasn't afraid to do so.
Compartmentalizing, she took stock of the situation. Fishfreckle needed to get medical attention, but he needed to eat, too. The fresh-kill pile had some things, but nothing was super fresh. Perhaps she could go and grab a fresh mouse or two for him while he was being looked over... nothing too big, she knew from personal that eating too much after not eating for a while could make your stomach even more upset, so she'd have to take that into consideration.

___________
It had only lasted a moment, but to the tired tom it felt as if a lifetime of pain and anger melted away. He felt… at peace. The welcome back drew a smile from the tom, a foreign, involuntary movement. This… this filled him with an unknown emotion that he was unable to place in this moment. Perhaps his exhaustion and hunger were getting to him (as evidenced by his rumbling stomach).
When the former leader pulled away, his smile faded and his eyes opened as she addressed him. A frown drew itself upon his face when she suggested seeing the medicine cats. He was fine. He didn’t need any assistance from some stinky medicine cats or herbs.
Shaking his head he coughed slightly. ”I’m fine.” He wasn’t, he was very obviously not fine. He knew she wouldn’t believe hm, but he lied threw his teeth regardless.
His head was still fuzzy, but now that he was able to form coherent thoughts, he took note of Larkwing’s appearance. She looked… healthy, at least compared to before (and him), but there was something else he hadn’t noticed on their journey: the scars.
Stepping closer, he walked to her side and reached out with a paw and gently touched it to the scar drawn across her flank, a look that was a mix of anger and sadness spreading across his features. ”Who did this?” He asked softly. He hadn’t noticed before, he should’ve, but he didn’t. This had been here since she came back, he was sure of it, but with only seeing her in his short bouts of consciousness before finding himself lost, he hadn’t properly processed that it was there. Dragging his eyes away from the long-healed wound, he faced her, anger blazing in his tired green eyes.
”Who. Hurt. You?”

Applebees And I think I've lost my will + she/her + No purrks
Once more she was out of camp, being out and about was her bit of solitude from the all noisiness of camp. After all, to her, the camp felt...stuffy, full of life of cats who seemed happy to live in the mountains. Applebees wasn't feeling all that too well at the moment so she didn't want to weigh down the mood. So the scarred molly was out here, choosing to sit by the edge and watch the raging waters. Her mind was still on back home, back to with Cliff was still alive. He may have told her to move on but she couldn't bring herself to find another, the tom had been her one and only. So she sat there watching the waters flow by carrying with it the fish that most likely dwelled in it. A part of her wondered what it would be like to live like a fish, just go with the flow and don't worry about life don't care if tomorrow would be your last.
