LionPaw padded up to GoldenWhisker, her tail swishing back and forth.

"Hello.. You're.. GoldenWhisker.. Right? I think your my mentor.. I'm LionPaw.. Can.. we do some training? I already know how to fight.. but the rest.. I haven't been taught.."

Goldenwhisker looked down, and her apprentice was right there. Uhm. Yeah. She mewed, unknowing of what she should say. We can do some hunting training. She gave a brief nod of her head.

Mosquitokit's blanketed by shadow where he sits close enough to the nursery's mouth to dart back in like a frightened minnow, should the need arise. This persistting caution is a little ridiculous, considering how big he's gotten.

The lean young cat was sprouting day by day, a hungry weed in fair weather. More leg to trip himself over and more skinny, skittish tail to tangle nervously behind him—but at least he appeared to be growing into his outrageous bat-ears. Somewhat. Maybe one day, they wouldn't look so disproportionate on him...for now, though, they only looked mostly silly. Small victories.

His mind is drifting, trying and failing to find one topic to stick to for long until a familiar ginger coat catches his interest. Oh! There's Wildpaw! Any day's a good day to catch up with friends, isn't it?

Mosquitokit stretches to his feet and then—falters. It's not a new concern, this nagging worry that he's a bother to her now that she's moved on to her apprenticeship, but it's one he hasn't yet quite learned how to shake. While it doesn't hold him back at least, it does have him approaching her with a marked hesitance. She doesn't look busy right now. In fact, she sort of looks like she's looking for something. Can I help?

"Wildpaw," Mosquitokit chirps. "D'ya need help with somethin'?"

"Oh there you are i was looking for you." she mewed with a smile. She laid down because she was trying to hide her height she became much taller and thinner. She didn't want her friend to worry about her weight since she seemed to slowly be losing her appetite. "Have you made any new friends lately?". @nyme

"For me? Oh," Mosquitokit blinks before shuffling in a little circle and then puffing out his chest (almost nervously, like he thinks the joke might not land). "Here I am!" He announces with a quick smile before this rare bit of humor is eaten away by a rush of self-consciousness that has him clearing his throat and sitting back down. It's easier to do these sorts of things around a longtime friend, but Mosquitokit is still Mosquitokit, at the end of the day.

"Uh-huh," he lights up all over again, eager to share. "Been talkin' to Wormkit and Thrushkit, and I see Shadekit around more an' more. I...I mean, I guess I can't say for sure but I, um. I-I hope they're friends, or, that they," he clears his throat, scuffing the ground absently, "that one day they could be. You know?" He doesn't want to be all presumptuous and act like he knows what either of those two kits think of him, for sure, but he'd love it if they held him in as high regard as he does them.

They don't have to, though. Nobody has to. That's just how it is, and Mosquitokit's okay with it—even if it means he's a little behind on his promise to Wildpaw.

He's silent for a moment, hazel eyes skimming her coat. She seems a little leaner than he recalls, but maybe that's what all the training does to a cat. Maybe that's just Wildpaw growing up. It's strange to consider, and he's not sure how he feels about it. Head cocked, Mosquitokit beats around the bush: "Are you hungry? I-I know there's rules for eating, when you're an apprentice, you know. The whole clan wats first? Uhm...what's that like? Is it hard?"

"Oh...no, i just ate." she mewed, hoping Mosquitokit wouldn't see through her lie. "No not really it's kinda easy oh and guess what I finally am good at something." she mewed.
Wildpaw suddenly realized that she forgot to give Mosquitokit something. "Stay right here ill be back." she mewed.

She ran off and grabbed a feather out of her nest and came back and put it in front of Mosquitokit. "Do you want this I found it when I was training so I thought you would like it." she mewed. @nyme

Worry still gnaws at the corners of his mind, but it always does, with him, so Mosquitokit opts to take her word for it. After all, he has no reason to think his friend would lie about this. He trusts her implicitly.

"Oh, okay! I was worried it was um. M-Maybe hard or somethin'." He doesn't mention how different she looks; that'd be impolite, and he doesn't want her to feel weird about herself. As a matter of fact, he's probably the weird one. Way to go, Mosquitokit.

He doesn't have enough time to think himself into a rut over whether he's being weird or not, though, because Wildpaw leaves and returns with—a gift!

...A gift? For him??

Mosquitokit gasps, all soft surprise and warm delight. How cool! One might think Wildpaw had plucked a star from the sky, the way he looks at the feather. It's just that he hasn't ever gotten a gift before. This feels momumental.

"Are you sure?" Mosquitokit asks, tentative. It's a very nice-looking feather; he'd hate for her to give it away and then wind up missing it, in the end. "A-Are you really sure?"

"im positive!" she mewed happily trying to think of weather she should tell Mosquitokit about her eating. @nyme

Elderberry tilted his head "it was pretty much the ordinary apprenticeship, 'cept for the fact i was so much shorter then the other apprentices"
