Heathernose purred. "You know, I don't think I've told you much about my family either." She meowed thoughtfully. She waited for Lionscar's response before continuing, she didn't want to repeat anything he might have already known.

Heathernose nodded before continuing, and took a breath. "I had a sibling too once." She started. "My brother, Fernpaw. We were littermates." Her eyes glazed over as she remembered the early days. Playing as kits, becoming apprentices together. "Our father, Haresprint, died before we were born. We were told he died a warrior's death, in battle. So it was just us and our mom, Rabbitsong." She purred fondly as she thought about her mother. "She was the most beautiful cat I'd ever seen, and so gentle. Fernpaw always looked out for us, he felt responsible for us. Like he had to take care of us in dad's place."

She remember her brother's rough exterior, how they argued because he always thought he was right. Their mother's gentle mew and warm, sweet scent. "One leaf-bare...I lost them both to greencough." She meowed solemnly, leaning against Lionscar for support. "I had whitecough with them, but their's turned to greencough while mine got better." She remembered the bitterness and guilt she felt that she survived and they didn't. It was something she had grown to live with and accept, but it still upset her to remember.

Lionscar felt really bad. "im so sorry to hear that. After Flamemane killed our parents and my sister we came here and one of our friends died when we were playing we were running and we stoped at a cliff but she... she didn't stop in time." he mewed he felt bad for Heathernose. @Luna16

Heathernose shook her head and gave Lionscar a gentle nudge. "Please don't feel bad for me! I shared this with you because I wanted to." She listened to his story about his friend and frowned. "I'm sorry to hear about that, Lionscar." She touched her nose to his cheek.

"Y'know...it's kinda funny. Not in a 'haha' way but like a 'wow that's super ironic way." She meowed, turning her eyes to the sky. "From what my mom told me, my dad hated kittypets that joined the clans. He believed that they diluted the warrior lineage." She looked back at Lionscar, searching for his eyes so he would meet her gaze. "But...I don't care about that." She licked his cheek affectionately. "Dad's just going to have to deal with my choice." She purred.

Heathernose's eyes widened in surprise. "That's incredible!" She breathed. "I didn't know Twolegs were capable of...of snatching up warriors." The thought sent a shudder down Heathernose's spine. She couldn't imagine how scared they must have been when it first happened. "I would've made the same choice in their paws." She stated firmly. "Family is too important to leave behind." She meowed as she touched her nose to Lionscar's. "Well...with one possible exception." She added with a meaningful look. She of course was referring to Flamemane himself.
