As soon as his splash landed, Ryebelly laughed and lifted his head up triumphantly. However, as soon as the tom was about to make an arrogant remark, the next attack hit him, sending him back a little bit as he grunted in surprise. “Agh! No!” Grumbling, he eventually caught his balance again, making his recovery slow on purpose. After all, the fun would be wasted if he rushed through it. Speaking with exaggerated and fake bravery, he said, “This isn’t the end! A true warrior never backs down!” Even hearing the words nearly made him cringe, but he didn’t care. Besides, it was all part of the game. Who cared how silly it sounded? He was having the time of his life at that moment, and that’s all that mattered.

Cricketsting rolled his eyes at Kestrelstar’s comment. Knowing the leader’s amusing sarcasm, the light-cream tabby smiled a little.

Twisting his head, the young warrior spotted his new apprentice. “Hey!” Cricketsting meowed, happy to have some company. “Jump in, the water is allll fine! Unless you want me to take all the warmth for myself,” he teased. His eyes glittered and watched Eaglepaw decide.

Codpaw settled deeper into the hot water. The steam rising from the water's surface was beginning to make him feel stuffy but it felt too nice to leave. He tried dunking his head and re-emerging. He smiled at Shimmerpaw. "It was a lot of fun, wasn't it? I didn't realize how much fun a good competition could be. I generally like exploring more but it was a nice change of pace. And Sunsetbloom figured out how to make a little bit of training more fun too." He shook the water from his ears. The wetness on his face seemed to help refresh him and stave off the stuffy feeling. "What's your favorite thing to do?"

She was bored in a kind-of ongoing way, with nothing to do. Hazelpaw felt like a slug. She felt sluggish, even. She could always hunt, she supposed...

Yes. Such a great idea! Scooting over to the outskirts, Hazelpaw spotted a lizard nearby, a pale grey-green colour with small black spots. Yeah, she could try hunting that! Hazelpaw bent her legs carefully, hoping no body part brushed the ground and lowered her tail, silently stalking over to the lizard as lightly as she could. The apprentice froze still as the lizard slowly turned to look in her direction - but then, thankfully, it turned again to face the other direction.

Perfect. Hazelpaw pushed off hard with her back legs, landing on the lizard. She snatched it with one paw biting its neck as fast as she could.

Hazelpaw dropped the lizard, inspecting it. It looked like what ShadowClan would eat. But all the same - with leaf-bare coming, RiverClan needed all the food it could get. She let out a satisfied purr, trotting back to themain area of Haven Springs with the lizard held proudly in her maw.

"Why, of course I always listen to Snakeheart," she says, pretending to be offended at the suggestion she ever did otherwise. "He's our medicine cat, chosen by StarClan! Are you, our leader chosen by StarClan, doubting your shield-warrior?" She gives him a cheeky smile before glancing at Bearspot. Reluctantly, the she-cat admitted to herself that his sudden appearance was a little annoying. Like herself, it seemed like Kestrelstar behaved differently around his Clanmates. So, it was nice getting the guy out of his shell even a little.

With a sigh, the cat waves her tail. "You're busy today," she meows to their leader. "I won't keep you, but I'll stay here for a little while longer." She'd still hoped to spot Irispaw among the faces here, even as time passed by. If Irispaw had come, Plumstorm could have persuaded another warrior to do the whole 'teach the apprentice how to swim' thing. Without waiting for Kestrelstar to say anything, she departs, heading off a little further from the Clan to find someplace quiet to doze.

Ah, he clicked his tongue. It wouldn't be so pleasant if a body was found in the middle of the waters. "Alright.. thank.. you?" He replied, his tone slightly questioning whether this was a situation Wormbite should thanking a cat but eh, he was trying to work on his manners. With a nod of confirmation, the Shield sunk back down into the depths of the pool. Similar to before he allowed the warm water to wash away his thoughts..

however by this point the effect was mildly ruined and he decided to wait until shallowstep left to explore. this was not him avoiding another awkward interaction, never. [he was all just a bit curious to see if fawnspring made an appearance here]

Once the shadow over him disappeared, Wormbite rose back out of the waters. He carefully exited the pool, shuddering at the cold air. His fur was still wet but was drying quickly. A longing gaze was thrown back to it. The lovely scent was here but separated off. Inquired, the oriental began to follow. Careful with his steps - he found himself at a small hill, cliff perhaps. He pulled himself up, climbing his way up to the top and of course, he was here.

"Fawnspring, " Wormbite mewed softly, going to sit beside him. Amusement twinkles in his misty eyes, "Exploring, are we?"

The moment of immense satisfaction felt as the evil water queen was doused quite fully in the spring was, annoyingly quickly, ruined. Sunsetbloom was quickly back on her feet, and now she was CHARGING, something that the molly wasn't sure she would be able to withstand. And she wasn't, the waves and general tumult of the water sending her under, with a happy gurgle.

Once Sunsetbloom and finished charging through anything and everything in her path, Splashleap resurfaced. And because she had no idea what else to do(water fights were not her area of expertise) she tried a more traditional attack method. She got a firmer footing beneath her paws, and launched herself at Sunsetbloom! Well, tried. The fact that the majority of her body was underwater made it hard to get any momentum, and in reality she only succeeded in hopping a bit higher out of the liquid, NOT what she had intended to do. Well, if she couldn't go up, she would go down! Sneak attack time!

Sneak attacks were more easily said than done. Because they required a lot of breath-holding and fast swimming, which Splashleap could do, but maybe not with the confidence that she wouldn't get stuck under her giant opponent that she required to actually GET MOVING! So she settled for popping up and splashing rather that trying to drag Sunsetbloom down. And then set off, moving quietly underwater towards the larger molly.

But, unfortunately, she ran out of breath not a taillength from her goal, and was forced to stick her nose above water like a periscope to draw more oxygen into her lungs. Ducking back under quickly she continued her advance, before powering upwards when the light was blocked out above her, hoping to headbutt the large molly in the chest. She wasn't sure exactly what it would accomplish, but it would hopefully.......wind her? @Rani @vcrdant @Dizerel

Shimmerpaw smiled back, watching as Codpaw dunked his head under the water. "I like fishing. It's probably what I'm best at, since I never really enjoyed battle training. I just don't like to fight that much..." the apprentice trailed off, glancing away. She hoped the tom wouldn't judge her for not liking to fight like most of the other cats.
