Fireflyflicker sat in the clearing, washing her chest with smooth strokes of her pink tongue. Mottled pale-ginger fur glowed like flames underneath the sunlight, and the she-cat's amber gaze sparkled.
Well, I guess that's why I was named Fireflyflicker.
Suddenly realizing how she was thinking, Fireflyflicker shook her head to get rid of the negative thoughts. Amber eyes searched the clearing and landed on an apprentice beside the fresh-kill pile, looking rather lonely.
Getting to her paws, Fireflyflicker stretched each leg in turn before heading over to her Clanmate, who she soon recognized as Flashpaw.
''Flashpaw?'' The warrior called out softly, slowing to a trot as she neared the young she-cat. ''Is everything alright? You seem upset.''

[Btw flash was brought into ShadowClan as a kit and was alone when brought in ^^ ]
Flashpaw's eyes were closed, facing the sky, deep in thought, deep in floating.
In, out. In, out. Calm. Empty thoughts, peace. When her eyes opened, some
of her anxieties returned. But only some. It was always a relief to float, a nice
escape. An escape where her nerves were far down on the ground. After her
drowsy Floating feelings left, her whisker brows creased as she pondered more
recent events. She hadn't expected a clanmate she had forgotten the name of
(Much to her dismay, since she hated forgetting names) to trot over and think
that there was something bothering her.
Flashpaw unceremoniously stretched, unwilling to meet the molly's gaze. She
wasn't in a talking mood. She didn't think very straight after she finiishes her
calming tactic. Either way, she didn't want to be rude. "H-hello." She
responded. Aha! She remembered the name now. That brought her signature
tiny smile to her face for a brief moment. She liked the feeling of when the right
word or name popped in her head suddenly, the satisfaction of remembrance. "I-I'm alright, I-I a-assure y-you." she responded softly, the tiny flash of
pride bringing a spark of confidence that lasted a few moments before fading,
and without realizing it she was meeting the molly's eyes."I-I w-was just
th-thi-thinking, F-Fireflyf-flicker." Stupid stuttering made the pretty name go
from wonderful to a blob. "I-I like y-your name." she offered, just to cover
up her silly-sounding stutter. besides, why shouldn't anyone be complimented?
Especially with a name like Fireflyflicker.

Fireflyflicker tipped her head to the side slightly, and she wrapped her tail around her younger sister. ''Are you sure, lil sis? I can tell when you're upset.'' Her amber eyes glistened with warmth for the apprentice, though they were firm, too. The warrior could obviously tell that her sister was lying.
Fireflyflicker gave Flashpaw's ear a quick lick. ''Thank you for the compliment, but tell me what's wrong. If you don't, then I won't be able to help you.''

Rottenheart had to teach stuff to his apprentice, Honeyoak. He knew it, so now that his foolishly acquired wound has healed, he could go ahead with the training. Rottenheart went to where Honeyoak was and spoke, his tone cold, slow and no-nonsense. ''Honeyoak, get your ass here, I'm showing you the borders''. Rottenheart's lip curled slightly, ugh, he hated having to teach, but well, that was better than recieving a smack from Dawnstar, tho that was almost guaranted for every Shadowclan warrior.

Flashpaw swallowed. She was still not used to the fact that
Fireflyflicker was her sister. She'd only recently found out.
But either way, she took the attention nervously, not really
wanting it but it did feel a little good to know that Flicks
cared about her and her worries. Flashers didn't want to
talk about it, though. "I-I've just b-been th-thinking.
A-about t-training. That's a-all." She said softly, honesty
being a curse. She hated lying and the tingle it sent down her
spine. She didn't like talking about things in her head, it made
her stupid stutter act up.
"E-everything j-just... different, y-you know?" She would
rather bite her tongue than talk about what she wanted to do
now. She wanted something, but was excellent at hiding it. She
didn't feel a pang of dishonestly, because she wasn't lying.
Everything was different, and she was thinking about training.
The look in her eyes pleaded not to push it. Fireflyflicker always
seemed to be a Mind Reader, so she had no doubt that
she would catch it.
All sociability gone, she didn't speak anymore. The classic tabby
was an introvert, no doubt, and was beginning to feel every hair
on her pelt prickling with discomfort. She'd come outside to Float,
not to talk about what she wanted to do in the future. That was
no fun to her. Sometimes the best kind of company she could have
was just someone who would sit with her, not relying on words that
wouldn't come out, and be content just to be there. Just to be there
to see her, not to talk. Someone who was content to just be
company, just so she knew she wasn't alone, and her anxieties
would go away soon.

Fireflyflicker blinked, tilting her head to the side. ''Redrobin's hosting a training event,'' She mewed after a moment. ''Maybe if you go interact with some of the other apprentices - maybe Mirepaw, Lostspark's daughter - then that will distract you from whatever's bothering you.''
Fireflyflicker wrapped her tail around her sister's shoulders and gave her a comforting lick between the ears. ''Remember what our mother always told us, Flashy?'' The mottled pale-ginger she-cat purred soothingly. "Let the strength of your paws match the courage in your hearts, my kits. For in the wilderness of life, it's not the size of the cat in the fight, but the size of the fight in the cat that truly defines our warrior spirit."

CW: insults and slight fanmade derogatory term for childish cat. And an angry Shadowflame.
Shadowflame had been a witness to Darkfall's little tantrum at Redrobin, who actually had some fair points. So when Redrobin called off the event due to the little temper tantrum, a nerve was struck. She quietly padded over to Darkfall.
"...Hey. Darkfall, right? I saw how much of a jerk you were being earlier and I might as well say it now: you need to grow up if you think Shadowclan is going to get tough with your behaviour like that, especially with how much like a temper tantrum that looked. If there's anyone you should be disgusted with, its yourself, you rat-faced fox-hearted lonerkit. I hope the day finally hits when you realize you don't have to be such a jerk your whole life." Shadowflame then walked off with a harsh glare, tail lashing.

rook was a bit taken aback for a moment, both by the invitation to follow her mentor out of camp and the question about chervil. but it made sense, it had been almost a moon by now, and if mossfreckle didnt come up with some freakishly complicated plan to pretend to somehow find out about these herbs, it made sense that lostspark wouldnt know about chervil. "oh yes chervil, its my favourite herb. anyway, its overall pretty common and can be found more or less everywhere, also normally grows to be pretty wide spread so it might look like more than it actually is. its pretty light green with thin stems ending in fern like, serrated leaves, some lower parts of the stems might be a bit lighter, more yellow-y green and might have little light hairs. the plant overall smells sweet but the roots are yucky." perhaps a description too long, all over the place and convoluted when she could also just show lostspark but once she had started it was hard to not get lost inbetween the conflicting thoughts plagueing her mind. "the leaves are chewed to extract juice for infections, i would probably prefer horsetail though cuz i feel like its a bit more potent. ive used the juice for eye injuries too and while i cant say it helps, i can more or less assure that it doesnt lead to eye infection. the roots are more potent, good for bellyaches and kitting, but as i said they taste pretty bad, so kits might need some honey with it ....but you know that soo im done" she gave lostspark a sheepish smile, one that she only realised her mentor couldnt see when it was already too late. away from responsibility and the fear of other cats profiting from her knowledge she had almost gotten lost in explanation. it was weird how much easier it was to tell lostspark what she knew than it had been to tell sweetsong or cobwebpaw...no hot suffocating feeling of fear settling around her shoulders, just enthusiasm for a shared passion.
(sorry for any typos/missing letters my hand is super shaky rn)
Lostspark noted down what her apprentice was saying. Making her way out of camp, Lostspark slowed so Rookpaw could precede her. Humming softly to herself in thought, Lostspark nodded after a moment. "I'm pretty sure you have no idea where you're going - since I expect no has given you a territory tour yet, as they shouldn't have." She tilted her head. "I'll give you one in a couple days. But anyway, for now we'll just wander around, I'll follow you, you're free to explore. I just want us to find and bring back chervil by the end of the day. Lead on."
Gangling legs straddled Fenpaw along the lengths of the Shadowclan camp, like his limbs had been taken from the pine trees that loomed around him, a bandy and sprawling thing. The weather had been fair enough to frolic, or at the very least wander around aimlessly. Fenpaw never found much to worry about, anyhow. Piercing yellow gaze darted around the camp, in the manner of the bounding grasshopper - never remaining upon one rippling pelt or one dancing shadow for a moment longer. He searched for a familiar face, someone he could spend away a day's boredom with. "Mumblemoth? Where are you?" Boyish voice called out, a mere speck in the great ocean of Shadowclan's tangling threads of conversation. He had always been the quiet kind, but he hoped the other feline could at least pick out his intonations through the rest of the din.
