The tom grunted as he dived in and began to swim, annoyed that he was forced to watch the kits do their stupid shell hunt. Now he was at the back of the entire race. What are the odds of me winning?
Spotting a small group of cats ahead, Darkclaw regained hope and swam harder.

(oof I'm late, ah well - better late than never!)
Willowsky darted to the river. She had originally decided not to compete in the competition, but some encouragement from the elders back in camp had changed her mind. Her original nerves about the event were still with her, however, and she hesitated before finally jumping into the river with closed eyes. Swimming had never been something she joined - ironic given the clan she was in - but Willow was determined to do her best.
