He could have been torn up. He could have ended up like those warriors.
Ratpaw sat in the side of the clearing, wide-eyed and shaken up. He swallowed the lump in his throat and snapped himself from his daze, looking in a random direction. His attention fell upon Thistle-something, what's-her-face and another apprentice, and he decided to walk over.
Honeynose is nowhere to be seen. But I need battle training. I need to be stronger. He stood and made his way over to them, tail lashing behind him. Thistle-something helped me to hunt. He can help me to fight too, right? Ratpaw looked up at the larger tom, ignoring the other two. "Will you train me to fight? Just once. I don't know where my mentor is and I need to be trained. You taught me how to hunt better, you can teach me how to fight, can't you? Right?" he rambled, clearly still shaken up from the coyote incident.

[BEAR.]

Good.

Getting to his paws with the expectation they were leaving immediately, there was no hiding the brief annoyance that crossed his face when Cougarpaw approached.. and then Ratpaw. He wasn't some ...apprentice training service.

But fine. Maybe they'd buzz off once this was over.

Still.. there was one thing he wanted to say before they left. "I'm surprised you're alive, Ratpaw-- how'd that coyote hunting go?" With no injuries and no body, he figured it was safe to say he failed. Maybe Alderpaw died and that's why he was so shaken up.

Really, Thistlestep couldn't find himself to care-- he warned them.

"All of you, I expect you to listen to what I say. I will not repeat myself again. If you are not interested in training, then you are not worth my time and I will kick you from not only this session, but future ones. I am not any of your mentors.

"Now, if I've made myself clear, let's go."

Tail beckoning the trio to follow, he headed out of camp toward the training island. [can just move there!]

She then lifted her head high and began to pad across the clearing towards the fresh-kill pile as if she knew what she was doing. Act like you belong, and no one will question you.

He huffed, ears flattening as the molly walked away. Palekit hopped up and followed after her, though moving much slower with his tiny legs. "You don't look very big!" the kit stated, his tail waving back and forth, "And where do you live? Who's Fawn the paw?" Palekit stopped beside the weird she-cat, looking up at her with squinted eyes. He wrinkled his nose and frowned, puffing up his chest and trying to reach the she-cat's height as he spoke to her.

Nighttuft padded out of the nursery towards Thornfur. "Thornfur!" The queen called to her mate. "Just... Good luck for the battle against Shadowclan. Stay safe." She meowed, nuzzling the tom. (If you haven't heard about it yet, it's in Streamstone.)

Asterkit scrambled out of the nursery, paws a blur, he paused for only a second to survey the clearing, before spotting a small bug. He dropped into a sloppy crouch and leaped at it, catching it between his small paws.
"Gotcha!" He whispered, snatching the bug between his teeth. He stood up and puffed out his chest. He had caught this bug, and he thought he might just go show it off to the other kits. But then, he saw the apprentices lounging a ways off.

She gave him a lick over his cheek before walking back to the nursery, quickly glancing over her shoulder at him.

Sootpaw sat near the nursery but still a ways away. His ears were flattened and let his sour mood towards not being able to join the raid take over. Again. c'mon lionstar! I'm sure some of us could take on a few without having to have a session . Then again it is just a raid...not an actual battle ...I'll ..I guess I'll save my strength for a real war. then he hissed but that stupid deputy shouldn't have done that! Rats, all of them. his tail twitched only for him to sigh.

Owlpaw turned away from the streamstone, her head slightly lowered in embarrassment. She didn’t know why she felt that way, she knew she hadn’t done anything wrong, maybe she felt embarrassed for the cats who were called out. She didn’t know. Being as careful as possible, the apprentice slowly made her way over to the edge of the clearing. Since Owlpaw didn’t know too many cats, she tried her best to avoid staring conversations. It had been this way ever since her clan had merged with Riverclan, and she was trying her best to keep it that way. But she had been feeling a bit more lonely recently. Letting out a soft sigh, the white and brown apprentice got up and made her way over to the first cat she saw. She knew this would be a bit awkward, but she’d be alright. Owlpaw took a deep breath before speaking. “H-Hi, I’m Owlpaw, uhm...” She glanced down at her paws, ears flattened. She didn’t know why she thought this was a good idea to begin with, she just wanted to flee. But now that she started she knew she couldn’t leave, or else that would just make the situation worse. “Uh,” Owlpaw looked back up at the apprentice. “I- uh- how are you doing today? I mean- how- what-” She shook her head. “What’s your name?”
