Ooo, this kid has some bite to her! Not that Hollowpaw actually cares all that much, and her words do nothing more than make his scowl deepen to a glare. "I need to ask questions so I know what I'm working with," the explanation is clipped, and his tail lashes behind him. He's got half a mind to turn the idiot away right now, and not just because he actually doesn't have any clue how to help with the leg. Wolfpaw entering and immediately sticking up for him was not something Hollowpaw expected, to be perfectly honest. He's well aware that his attitude is... prickly at best and most are rubbed the wrong way by it and end up disliking him (cough, cough, Risingstorm). He has no idea Wolfpaw's opinions on him, and frankly, he doesn't care that much, but if they're going to work together the least they could do is stick up for each other, so the action is appreciated, and Hollowpaw's glare lessens in response.
He gets to watch a demotion happen right in front of his very own eyes, Beetlepaw becoming Thornkit. And Fleckpaw explains the whole story. "You forgot," he scoffs under his breath with a roll of his eyes, but Fleckpaw also brings up a fair enough point: the two are here for medical attention, and they should probably receive it. "There's some open nests there," Hollowpaw gestures with his tail, "Take one of them, I'll escort Thornkit to the other one." Assuming Thornkit allows Hollow to lead them, that is, otherwise Hollowpaw will just let her hobble on her own. He looks to Wolfhive, "does it really need to be amputated?" He thought that was only for crushed or nearly-severed limbs, but Thornkit's leg looks to still be attached and it doesn't seem crushed.
Experimentally, he puts his paw on it, trying to feel for where the damage is as if that'll make what to do any more clear to him. He doesn't bother to warn Thornkit that it might be painful. There's a part of the leg that feels strange, a little out of place. Hm. Okay, well, he doesn't know what to do about that other than Wolfhive's suggestion of amputation, so he tackles the issue he thinks he knows how to solve first.
"Fleckpaw said something about you having a race? In this heat? I think you've both overheated a bit, probably. I dunno how to fix that, but I think water will help." He looks to Wolfhive now, since the Hornet was here, he might as well help, "we have moss in the herb storage, go soak some in water for the idiots to drink," it feels odd to order him around, but Hollowpaw also kind of enjoys it. "Also... I dunno what any of the stuff back there actually does, if there's something for pain, maybe grab that too. Thornkit's stupid and disobedient, but I don't wanna hear them howling about how much it hurts while they're here."
Fleckpaw's complexion turns pale after she hears the words 'amputation', and she looks like she's about to be sick. No tears fall from her face-her eyes are too dry for that, and it'll only make them sting; but she genuinely feels unwell at just the thought of being even partially responsible for such a thing.
Starclan, if you can hear me... please don't let that happen.
Fleckpaw doesn't say anything to all of Hollowpaw's barbed remarks. Situation being what it was, she couldn't help but think they both deserved it. Instead she closes her eyes and hums, "We won't."
Thornkit’s heart sank. “You can’t amputate it! That..” she seemed at a loss for words. She was being demoted and she might be amputated? She looked over at her friend Fleckpaw. “.. It’s not Fleckpaw’s fault at all.” She managed to mumble, terrified. Thornkit wanted to wail, maybe she should just obey the rules and not be a brat.

This was just plain stupid. The medicine cat listened as Fleckpaw spilled the entire story, and all Wolfpaw could say? Wow. Just wow. He watched as the hornet demoted Beetlepaw to Thornkit, and honestly, they deserved it. If she was going to act like a kit, might as well be a kit. He let out a scoff once Hollowpaw finished talking to Fleckpaw. "You have bees in your brain. It's greenleaf, its hot out and you are supposed to be out with a warrior since we still have the risk of the owl that took Springlight, - mind you Thornkit shouldn't have left camp at all - and you decide to have a race. I've seen kits smarter then you. The funny thing is you're older then me. So yeah, you were stupid," he snapped, lashing his tail. Stars, could cats actually be this dumb?
His demeanor changed and the tripod stiffened as Wolfhive said Thornkit's leg might have to be amputated. Green hues widened at the horne- was that a wink? Now he knew what they ment. Sorta. He didn't really know how to fixed an injured leg, or if amputation was really needed. He knew he had no other choice, his leg was crushed. Thornkit's... wasn't as bad. So, he really had no idea.
"No clue. If she injured her leg bad enough, then yeah. But even if it can be saved, I still have no clue how 'cause I still know next ta nothin." Wolfpaw watched as Hollowpaw examined her leg, Wolfpaw hobbling over to get a closer look. One thing was for sure, Thornkit's leg isn't as bad as it could have been. "You're lucky - I'll give ya that. Could have been much worse. Still don't know what to do, though," Wolfpaw said, muttering the last part to themselves. Ideas of what he could do flooded his mind as he half-took in what the other medic was saying. Tansy, maybe? But he didn't know if Tansy would be enough.
"Yeah, gettin them water is a good idea. But I'm also stumped so that's probably the best we can do in this position," he said, getting back to his paws. So, that was that. At this point, the medicine cat didn't know what else to do.

At least Fleckpaw was willing to be honest. Wolfhive was still peeved with the situation but he wasn't as much with her specifically. "Maybe next time pay attention more during Clan meetings, Thornkit was punished during that after she got in a physical fight with Vinekit."
Really, a camp confinement with some chores had been a mild inconvenience. Wolfhive hadn't anticipated getting to this point 'n it was... rrrrrrrr.
"The rules we have in place are there for a reason. It's not just an owl out there, we've had cats getting attacked by badgers, foxes, dogs--- there's even Twoleg traps that've dismembered one of our Clan-mates. You both going out without warriors like Bumblestar instructed was wholly dumb."
Again, Thornkit was lucky to still have a leg at all! Basilkit left camp with four and came back with three.
Wolfhive shook his head. "Fleckpaw, I'll figure out what to do with you later. As for Thornkit.." Hollowpaw must've missed the wink. Wolfhive was trying to be subtle as to not alert Thornkit of his schemes. "We probably won't need to amputate, it depends on the damage. Just wanted to put some fear in her since her actions could've easily led to it."
At Hollowpaw's request, Wolfhive gathered some moss n water and a couple poppy seeds. He first set the damp nose in front of the troublesome duo to drink from before he turned to the medicine cats. "These're poppy seeds," He showed them before putting them in front of Thornkit. "Don't need that many, n the smaller or younger the cat is the less you give them. It's good for pain n can make a cat sleepy. Eat it." That last bit was for Thornkit. "Poppy seeds... come from red, widely open petaled flowers. There's usually a bunch in just a single one."
Now that he could inspect Thornkit's leg more closely beyond "it was uncomfortable for her", he hummed. "I don't think this is broken, it's definitely tender but it..." He reached to jab the leg. "If this were a break, she'd be screaming. It's probably just sprained - n I'm pretty sure there's not much to do for this beyond rest."

At this rate, Fleckpaw didn't mind whatever punishment she would get. You could get back a lost rank, or miss a couple days doing chores, but losing a leg was forever. She lets a breath she didn't even know she was holding after Wolfhive admits he was just trying to scare them.
Predators? And so many? The possible consequences they may have had to face sticks into her mind. Wolfhive, Wolfpaw and Hollowpaw were right. They were lucky, and also stupid.
"We won't go outside without supervision ever again. And I'll pay better attention." Fleckpaw promises. After she meows this, she leans down to lap up the water from the moss she was given. Even though she had already drank a little before, Fleckpaw is a little surprised at just how thirsty she still was. Now that she no longer felt dizzy, the pain in her paws were starting to get more noticeable too. Fleckpaw sets them on the wet moss.

Re: ThunderClan Medicine Cat's Den
Seakit limped into the medicine den, whimpering every step. " My head still hurts....." She stepped on her bad leg and howled. "OUCH! IT HURTS!!!!" She screeched. The kit stopped to rest for a second, as the den was spinning. Seakit sat down huffing, and crying. @Bean @Neptune.

Orangeblossom wasn't sure why he was standing outside of the den, just staring into the space he felt like he was simply one paw step away from collapsing across the clearing floor and never moving ever again. It still doesn't feel real, none of it does. Because for some reason in his mind, he thinks that if he takes these few steps forward he would look around and see Springlight, working working working... and then Orangeblossom would smile at her, and ask if she wanted to take a walk with him. It would likely take convincing, Springlight was nothing if not a workaholic, but they would and they would go out and Orangeblossom would show her his meadow.
But that little bug, traitorously showing and thinking things that will never happen is why he has confined himself to the nursery this past while. Desperately ignoring any glance at the medicine den... but he was hurting. He was hurting a lot, and even though he didn't want to go into the medicine den, into Springlight's old den, into the new medicine cat's den. He had too, because he needed to find something, anything, he just couldn't bring himself to go on ignoring this place because he wants to find something that will be able to tell him that she was okay, that she was out there. It was stupid, what could've been left in the medicine den that would suggest this? Nothing. But maybe he'll find something that fuels his flickering hope. It would never go out, but it could be a little stronger.
Orangeblossom padded into the space, his breathing picking up. The scent of his friend was starting to dull. The thought was the first thing he registered as he started about, his eyes readjusts from sun blindness. It made him want to cry, his chest tightening into an almost strangle as he choked on the salt and tears that started to build up in his throat and burn his eyes. He steps forward, he knows that it isn't in his right to simply invite himself in. Especially, not with just walking straight towards the back where the sleeping area was. But he couldn't help himself, for some reason his mind supplied that Springlight would be there resting for once. Though as his paw landed from his next step his mind's trance was broken by a wailing and the instinctual response to kit and kit cries that has been building in Orangeblossom over his time in the nursery snapped into place at the forefront of his mind, and for a moment overrode any thoughts of Springlight and the medicine den.
Green eyes moved and watched as a kit came in... would Wolfpaw and Hollowpaw be able to help? They could try and that meant the world, and Orangeblossom didn't mean anything malicious, but his mind traitorously supplied that if Springlight was here than this wouldn't be an issue. Though Wolfpaw and Hollowpaw were young, painfully so, they needed guidance and maybe Orangeblossom would be able to offer that for the moment. Only if they wanted it at least. The warrior padded over, and watched the kit as they sat down. "I'm sorry- not- not to impose, but do you need any... help? Sprin- Springlight," His voice broke on the name, "Taught me a few things, that may be able to help... if you need?" Though it was also because he didn't like hearing kits cry, makes him panic a bit. Though he didn't want to overstep, he wasn't a medicine cat, this wasn't his job to do after all.
"Seakit, take a deep breath for me. Just a big deep breath, and then let it go and repeat. Here," The ginger warrior settled beside the kit so that they could lean on him if they wanted to, "If you lean on me we can help keep the weight of of your injuries." He blinked, and purred cautiously, trying to calm the kit down enough so that they could receive help without accidentally making it more difficult or getting more injured from panic. If the kit allowed then he would lean forward and give a gentle lick along the kit's ears for comfort.

Seakit beamed. @Oliver @Bean @Neptune.

Okay. This. is a problem. Wolfpaw was alerted of Seakit's presence from the whimpering, and he turned his head to spot the younger kit limping into the medicine den before letting out a yowl of pain. Oh no oh no. Before the Medicine Cat could say anything, Orangeblossom came in and started comforting Seakit. The tabby shot a thankful look to the older tom before hobbling over. "Yea. 'preciate the help, since me n Hollowpaw don't know much," he said, examining the kitten.
"Thank you again! You know, you would be perfect to be a med cat! You're amazing at calming cats down, and helping."
Wolfpaw was slightly mad at the comment from the kit, but couldn't help but agree. He was a baby, and hell, he can't even walk that well. And he had a cat younger then him as the Medicine Cat Apprentice. It still confused him. Okay, back to work now. Wolfpaw assumed that something was probably wrong with their leg, since they were limping. "Be right back," he said, hobbling over to the den entrance. He had no idea what was wrong with the kit's leg, but someone else might.
"WOLFHIVE! Get in here, I need your help," he called out for the hornet before hobbling back into the den. "Wolfhive helped out with Thornkit's leg, so figured he could help out, too. Now, Seakit, tell me what happened and what hurts," the medic said, sitting down into his normal awkward seating position.

Wolfhive stifled a yawn as he entered the den. The hawk incident left him worn out, having been awoken by Bumba's yelling and on guard until the duo returned to camp. Thankfully, more kits hadn't been out..
"Glad to see you're alright, Seakit." His gaze scanned her briefly, surprised to see no sign of blood from the hawk's talons. "Can't believe you survive a hawk, they usually don't make mistakes like that." Maybe it was because the hawk hadn't dug its talons in, or perhaps Seakit was just lucky. Who knew. Wolfhive wasn't paid enough to speculate.
He wasn't sure why he'd been called, by the time he'd entered the den Seakit was beaming and seemed happy. "A hawk grabbed her, my 'ma managed to get her back. Beyond that I dunno." Seakit could explain - but it didn't explain all the apparent happiness and content she was emitting.
