[Cave]

Oakbranch looked around at the others, and scented the air again, taking in the breeze tainted with unfamiliar smells. Her tail rose to warn the others to be cautious, there was something not right about the scent, more importantly where it was. "Why would a rouge, or a loner, come this far into clan territory?" she whispered, just loud enough for the other to hear. She started on a path that would lead them to where the loner's scent came.
As they went closer to the loner, two new scents could be picked up, the stronger scent was the scent of blood, and the weakest, the scent of kits. There was little to no scent of milk, and nothing yet to signify death other than the growing scent of blood.

She followed after Oakbranch, concerned as the smell of milk came to her nose. "I don't know... do you smell milk as well? What if they're in danger?" Stormgaze mewed, eye full of worry. The scent of blood caused her nose to twitch and she frowned, concerned.

The eldest kit shivered, and snuggled closer to her mother. She was yearning for a little more warmth, but her sister was the only one giving out any heat. The younger kit cried out in hunger, begging for milk. The eldest kit soon joined in, their little mews filling the clear air. The sound would lead anyone with a functioning ear to the spot where the helpless kits lay. Whether the finder would be friend or foe was yet to be determined.

The strong brown tabby paused, perking her ears to the sound she recognized the sound of kits. She moved swiftly through the cover and came upon the scene, two newborn kits, a new mother, and a puddle of freshly spilled blood. She let out a yowl to notify her patrol mate, before bending over the kits and giving them a few soft licks between the ears. "All will be well soon young ones," she purred to them, trying to comfort them. Pulling the kit closer to her she let out another yowl to her clanmate, despite her not being far behind, and she wrapped her tail around the bundles of fur.

Stormgaze walked closer, though she stopped as she spotted the kittens. "Kits?" she questioned, her tail passing across the ground cautiously. "It seems like she didn't survive the birth. The kits can't survive on their own." She stayed a tail-length away, unsure of the situation. Her eye glimmered with discomfort and she stared at the scene, shuffling her paws.

The eldest kit reacted happily to a source of heat, snuggling into the fur of the strange new cat. Her younger sister wasn't as keen, wiggling away and giving a little defensive hiss.

"It seems like she didn't survive the birth. The kits can't survive on their own."

The older kit cried out, "What do you mean, she didn't survive?"
"Who are you?" cried her younger sibling accusingly. She was still suspicious of the strangers, and shivered in the cold. She did her best to run away, but a newborn kit isn't exactly coordinated. The younger kit couldn't see where she was going, and ended up stumbling where the other stranger stood, about to bump into her.

(btw, Oakspark's fostering them if you want to mention that she could care for the kits)

"We should bring them back to camp, I'm sure there's a queen willing to care for them," Oakbranch mewed confidently to Stormgaze. Looking down to the kit's queries and giving her companion a quick but concerned glance she gently replied, "we are of Riverclan, you are both safe now, but if we stay out in the open like this we won't be safe for long. Let us take you to our camp and everything will be fine." She rested her gaze on Stormgaze, giving her a chance to say anything she would like.

Stormgaze looked between Oakbranch and the kits before nodding. "Yeah," she mumbled, thinking of all the queens in the nursery, "Maybe... Oakspark could foster them? She seems like a queen who would take them in." Her tail brushed against the round and she looked around, frowning with faint discomfort. She'd never encountered this problem before and didn't know how to handle it. Stormgaze wasn't a queen! She didn't know how kits worked! Her ears flattened and her eye glimmered, staring at the young kits.

The eldest kit was satisfied with the strange cats' answer. As long as the cats weren't out to hurt her, she was content with their presence. She yawned, suddenly tired from all the stimulation. "Okay," she mewed softly.

Her younger sister did not have the same attitude. "No! I don't wanna go to Wiverclan!" The little lump of fur continued to 'run', in the opposite direction this time.
She bumped straight into a tree.
It didn't injure her, as she wasn't going very fast, but it was enough to knock her unconscious.

Oakbranch looked at the kit that was laying still, "is she okay?" She mewed quietly to Stormgaze. "She should be fine, she wasn't running too fast" She told herself before picking the older kit up and started heading towards camp. Signaling to Stormgaze to do the same.
